Good day cowboy. Great weather, great horse, great dog, not too wild cattle. Everybody went home unscathed and better for it. Thanks for sharing Sir

    Love the wide open range!
    Great video, keep working hard.

Do you still do any outfitting?
Riding horses and learning about working cows would be really cool. I would pay to do that on that beautiful farm land.
Give the Dry Creek Wrangler a run for his money. lol

Yes, I have a small hunting business on the side… doing riding guests is not a bad idea though! Thanks for watching

Where can I find the details on the hunting?
I’ve hunted whitetail for about 30 years, but would love to hunt Elk or Mule Deer.
That would be a dream hunt! The deer don’t get huge in South Alabama/Northwest Florida. Thanks

Did you ever get the gray filly broke? Didn't see her with the others? She was a spirited one ...wondering if you got her broke to work and push cows.
Great to see LJ...She's a winner . Enjoyed TY

The gray did not work out. She is a good horse but has a bucking problem so I sold her to a neighbor who has been riding her all summer and doesn’t mind her “quirks”. It’s too bad because I really liked her, she was very cowey and athletic. Just not a kid horse prospect, and I need horses that kids (and my wife and I, lol) can ride!

I see you went with the chicken-wire idea around the base of your hog fence. It looks like that worked really well. I'm going to have to file that one away as a good idea. I have always used a low hotwire to keep mine from rooting out or escaping through the squares on the fence when they are real small.
That was a nice bull on the trail cam!
How old is LJ and is she bred or maybe you guys don't breed your working mares? She seems like a pretty handy mount and handled the flag, the dog and the terrain like a champ. If you breed your working mares, her bred to a real cowy 1/2 draft QH stud would be my vote. A cowy 1/4 draft QH with the dam's thoroughbred temperament and refinement on the sire's size, hoof and bone, be a hard combo to beat for a rough county cow horse.
Is that the same dog you took to the trainer in another video or was that a different dog in that other video?

Thanks for watching Andy. I really need to breed LJ but never have as I have always relied on her too much. But she is getting older and I feel the pressure of missing the window with her… plus, getting a mare bred, raising a colt, training etc… it is a huge, time consuming undertaking as you well know… Keely was my kelpie pup, but she didn’t workout for us so she went back to the breeder. Good dog, just not the right fit for us

@@WYORancher307 We had an APHA mare like that when I was a kid named Casey. We used her for everything. Tremendous mind and temperament on her. We bred her to a big QH stud and for years after she got too old to breed if we were riding for work that day, it was more than likely on one of her colts. Really wish my uncles had kept that bloodline going, even though they were grade offspring they were amazing working horses, but like you said there is an enormous amount of work that goes into breeding and raising horses and after my grandpa died nobody in our family kept going with it until I started to breed horses again a while back.
