My love for The Sandlot runs deep. I remember seeing this with my dad as a young guy with a terrible bowl cut. At 42 I can only think of the memories of my dad and I shared playing sports
Gosh im so happy. Im 42, i grew up with this movie and even as an adult watch it ridiculously often. Now my 8 year old watches it MINIMUM 5 to 6 times a week and it starts the craziest conversations, lol my kids don't understand a world where wifi, internet, face time doesn't exist and I keep trying to tell them what it was like to sit through commercials, answer phones before knowing who was calling lol...nothing about this world in the Sandlot exists now and they just cannot comprehend. But I'm satisfied that this movie will live on because they love it as much as their parents did. Greatest movie of ALL TIME!!!! To this day I can't say "forever " without at least under my breath saying "FOR-EVVVERRRRR"
A good story transcends generations. I remember watching it when it came out with my son who was young . Then I had two more boys 12 yrs later and of course we had to reintroduce it to them .. and they loved it!! Timeless
The film reminds me of the All Star I was appreciate to be part of in 1988. We went to El Cajon for for tournament and we were a rag tag team from AZ and beat a couple CA teams. Great experience.
Hi Patrick! Great Interview! Love that you mentioned Worcester! You should come visit and Go see a Woosox game! Its an AAA of The Red Sox Team! Great Place!
We sure are, probably because we were the last generation that had a taste of what real life was like before everyone was scrolling their phones 24/7 we want nothing more than to go back lol.
Just turned 50. LOOOVE Baseball. Yankees fan since coherency. Never seen it! Maybe bits and pieces. Bc I lived it! It’s how I grew up. Out playing all day long. Riding bikes from here to Timbuktu! Never got into trouble and was always home by 6.
The change in the last ten years, is that those of us that grew up with it are having kids ourselves and sharing it with them. Love the carnival scenes 😂
I grew up watching that movie. I was born in 89 and the movie is timeless. It's a wholesome movie. Thank you for being in a such a good movie. My first movie was was John Wayne from 1923. My 2nd movie was sandlot .my 3rd movie was forest gump.
My children and now, to my utter delight, my grandchildren, are HUGE FANS. I was the STEADY PITCHER for my children and their friends growing up. And, they were, the funnest years of my life! I CANNOT WAIT to reprise the role for my Grandkids and their friends!
I hate the dodgers.....hate......but I want to fill my man cave with fictional sports movies jerseys. I'm having trouble finding Cleveland jerseys now but I'd love a Benny the jet jersey.
Lol definitely had to have saved the day! I remember my buddy and I (age 8) getting to watch the Mario Bros screener through some of our family friends who owned and operated a convenience store/garage/cafe/video store. Way earlier than our other friends could. Back then the tapes had the big warning scrolling across the screen and some scenes would turn black & white for a minute, etc. We tried so hard to like that movie but it just wasn’t happening. We only got to have it for 2 days. We tried watching it a couple times, ended up out shooting hoops and pitching to each other lol.
Fun Fact: My mom told me that she was working with a friend in Midvale, Utah and saw the fireworks being shown on a day that wasn't patriotic. They were confused about it, until they realized that it was for the 4th of July scene in The Sandlot while it was in development. I thought my mom was crazy about it, because all my life, I've watched the Sandlot and never thought that it was filmed here in Utah. I always thought that famous films like the Sandlot were made in popular states like California and New York, which, come to think of it, it's not always what it seems. It's pretty much a story I'll never forget from my mom.
21:14 Dog Days of summer is right, and guess exactly when I would watch the Sandlot when it was "150° out there Benny, you CAN'T play Baseball, you gotta call it for the day." Just like the scene!
When you have the opportunity to talk to Darth Vader/ Terence from Field of dreams and right after The sandlot he was mufasa, you take that opportunity 😂 can we also boy caught making any more sandlots I can't believe they bothered to make sandlot 2 and 3 they were disgustingly bad somehow the third one was better than the second one which I don't know how that happened but it was still bad
I prefer androids so many times in my life i thought of buying an i phone but why. Have to have speacial chargers and all this bull. U have to pay for things u dont have to with androids. Juat why
Heroes get remembered, but legends never die
Yesss.
Art Lafleur as the babe ruth in Benny's dream.
I have never seen someone keep their childhood face like this dude😅 absolute legend

July 4th scene hits me in the feels every time. Ever since seeing it for the first time at 12 years old.
About to turn 50. What a special film. Great interview!!❤⚾️
Watch this movie every 4th of july week and it still makes me happy each time. Shout out to another 30yr movie anniversary of his, "Son in Law"!

One of the best movies of all time👍
Such a great guest. Go Patrick, go Ham! Love The Sandlot. Great movie.
This dude is so down to earth. Seems cool af.
This was GREAT! THANKS guys!!
If anyone hasn't yet, do see the episode of X Files Renna was in. Worth it. I am still stunned and it has been well over a decade for me.

We're getting older Mr. Hambino. We're a nostalgia driven generation. I have a sandlot Poster hung in my living room
Yeah yeah, pretty crappy 😅

great show. really kicks in in the second half.

I had an old boss who had a minor role in The Sandlot. He played one of the cops. Dave Noffsinger. Great dude.
You're Killing Me Smalls
Social Media took it to another level past 10 years. That’s why the Great Hambino 😎🤙🏼🤙🏼

Love the Sandlot!!! 👍😁👍
I got a signed picture from squintz and Wendy.. need one with Hambino!
I’m sure like myself there are lots and lots of kids that relate to this movie growing up in the same scenario 😁

"I will always cherish Sandlot"!
Benny the jet Rodriguez 🔥 I just got the Benny the jet Rodriguez baseball jersey with the LA dodgers colors but The sandlot logo it's dope
I hate the dodgers.....hate......but I want to fill my man cave with fictional sports movies jerseys. I'm having trouble finding Cleveland jerseys now but I'd love a Benny the jet jersey.
@@randomlyrancannabis7020fictional Cleveland jerseys???
I swear they should make a movie but with them all as adults coming back and seeing the sandlot with their kids
That Android bit about the green text, "You're killin me Smalls" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hot summer day when I was 7, my mom and grandpa took me to a "double feature" of "super mario bros" and "the sandlot".
"The Sandlot" saved that day.

Just an epic interview 🤣
The irony of Rich telling the story of explaining DUI to his kids while sitting at a desk with a placard that says Best Dad 😂
It's crazy that he's 44 now and he hasn't changed at all haha
The Great Hambino
‘He played Hambino’ - wtf Rich! It’s the GREAT Hambino!
❤
Your profile pic gives me hope.
Ya killin me smalls!
That references a real dude. Robert Smalls. One of the most interesting men of history.
Thats The GREAT Hambino!
I'm watching this and Son in Law just came on too, he's on both monitors LOL
Elway is one of the greatest. If you ever watched him you’d know why.
It is very similar to Stand By Me
Shoutout to the great Tanner Boyle
HAMILTON PORTER!!!
The only good thing to ever come from Utah, that I know of anyway.
There is no way that "I hit dingers" bit was not featured on Tosh.0
*THE GREAT HAMBINO*
i didnt get the " ya killing me smalls" line lol how did he improv?
Because he said “Your Killing Me Smalls , But the original line was “You kill me smalls “
@@WysdomHub technically that is improv-ing I guess lol

Is that Kyle Howard?!
Tom Brady, Joe Montana, John Elway, Johnny Unitas
He still looks like a kid somewhat lol

Rich’s kids will never know or care who Dennis Leary is. I’m old with no kids, it’s heartbreaking to hear kids “reject” anything not in hd.
Bertram got lost with sixties
The Sandlot 2 is Hardball. 😂
Smalls grew up and has a gambling problem. Guess his stepdad didn't throw the ball around with him enough .
Porter
Mount Rushmore, you talk #'s. Older games were run based. Change in the dynamic!!
He looks and sounds like a larger Billie Joe Armstrong.
I’m going to make a movie now just so I can have him and Billie Joe as brothers
😂 I can see it
Do you have the time, to listen to Catcher Swine?

Brett Farve was an Alanta Falcon. So his second act was better
Some of lebrons titles that he won were because of strikes and shortened seasons and he's only 4.6 in finals win loss records
Don’t know what
Why the android snub?
He will always be my favorite Hollywood fat red head kid.
Good for Patrick not to fall into Rich’s BS.
Renna's career ended with The Big Green
The same goes for Steve Gutenberg.
