My personal idea for a Spartan V program is essentially an Orion II program. I would make it so any person in anyway way, shape or form related to flood containment would be given Spartan I level augmentations to make it much more difficult for the Flood to infect them and give them a greater chance in case of a containment breach.

Probably seed the suitable not up to par babies into random homes to grow up naturally. Eventually creating a more solid human naturally. Engineered evolution basically.

I'm no expert, but between how crazy useful Chief has been, and the surprising number of Spartan II's running around, I think it might make sense for ONI/ the UNSC to look at upgrading the armor, personal equipment, and possibly even the augmentations of Chief's generation.
ONI creating yet another Spartan generation specifically to take out "rogue"* Spartans would be entirely on brand for them. As for the cloning, it would be very interesting if ONI had already been... cooking with the DNA of the Spartan II candidates they'd abducted. At this point they could be all grown up the slow way and thoroughly indoctrinated, even if "perfecting" their genes would slow them down. Of course the real John would still beat his superior* version.

    • @Installation00
      @Installation00  4 года назад +22

    • @e.v4892
      @e.v4892 4 года назад +13

OG Chief probably beat an ONI clone of himself for various reasons.
      a) Experience. Training is different from actual combat, and unless it's revealed that these hypothetical Spartan 5s already exist, and have been used by ONI in the shadows, the ONI Chief will be outmatched in this department.
      b) Cortana's augmentations. Whilst it's likely that Chief's Halo 4/5 Armour (Which I like to call the Cortana Model, as it was made by her before H4) has already been documented by the UNSC, Chief's new augmentations - the ones he gained from the Librarian - possibly have not. Even if a specimen is available to ONI, they probably don't fully understand it; the Librarian was able to plan genetic makeups thousands of generations down the line - even a short-term evolution would be a feat above modern humanity.
      c) He's the main character. Combined with his luck (I guess we're in the Nasuverse now) Chief is toting around some serious plot amor.
The more interesting thing for me would be how other Spartans would fare. Whilst point A and C apply cleanly for Chief, the rest of his Fireteam, for example, aren't so lucky. Whilst a grave overgeneralisation, Chief's companions are the better than him biologically; Kelly's faster, Linda a better sniper (which implies, perhaps, eyesight and/or reactions), and when he was alive, Sam was the strongest and tallest of the Spartans. These biological superiorities could probably be mass produced, and even improved, by ONI.

I like to think that this is how the Forerunners started off.
The Forerunners "evolved" through various at mutations at different points in their lives. I Imagine in the early days of their existence they started experimenting in similar wars to the Orion Project, and this gradually evolved into the mutations used later on. The Use of Forerunner power armour probably evolved in similar way to Mjolnir as well.
I imagine that if humans continue developing the Spartan and Mjolnir programs until, over the course of centuries, or even millennia, they become as ingrained into human culture as the Forerunner mutations and "Skins" were to them.
Imagine an entire race of Spartans, all equipped with Mjolnir.

Hypothetical logic on the Spartan V's it probably will take the best of each iteration.
So the best part of the spartan II was there literally the best physical and mental candidates from the human race. So maybe the logic of the spartan II's being the genetic base of the Spartan V's incorporating positives into the genetic code from other species such as the Elites and the massive physical advantage. So working from the human peak and then adding to it with genetic engineering either directly splicing elite DNA into the spartans or if their DNA is incompatible, manufacturing the DNA and adding to human DNA during the child's conception so when it is still an embryo and sperm. And then take using manufactured or spliced DNA copying other races advantages into Humans. Creating a very strong starting point before further augmentation with more traditional mechanical and chemical alterations.
From the Spartan III's there utility came in their ability to be mass trained and use cheaper but still very effective augmentations.
From the Spartan IV's the fact that they could be augmented at adult hood not as teenagers is their main advantage and that basically anyone could be made into a spartan with very little down time
By implementing the best piece of each of them you would have a very good start. If a Spartan V was say needed in a month and instead of making these changes at a child's conception and then having to wait 18-21 years you could use cloning. As a stop gap method of very cheap to produce clones of the current best spartan and only modifying them slightly to be a general improvement.
Then you only have to train them which you could do by daisy chaining several dumb AI into a spartan using a mind interface unit like the ones used by Cortana in chiefs armour and then you would have a Spartan with a huge variety of skills at expert level at its birth. They would probably incorporate a method of controlling the population of cloned Spartans. By say putting the maximum age of a spartan V clone, say at 50 years old and effectively you would get 49 years of 100% then the last year of its life would be used to help expand the knowledge base from which the other spartans would grow. The method of killing them off would be effectively be forcing a random incurable genetic mutation that kills them when they are created.
People might say that cloning all the way and then no human who isn't cloned doesn't have to fight is the best way.
Its not. Basically you make them strong but the non cloned humans stronger which would keep everyone inline. The clones can't say no to being a soldier and overthrow humanity. And it stops the rest of humanity getting to fat and lazy and seeing these clones as tools and not people.

    The indoctrination of the II's.
The 'cheap' and expendible-ness of the III's.

But the "cheap"-ness of the Spartan III's is only because they're given inferior armor, less training, and are genetically not as stringently selected as the II's. They wouldn't be "extremely effective" against the Spartan IV's, which are their intended targets in this scenario. They would be against regular soldiers, but then why go through this?
Plus, flash cloning would mean you wouldn't have enough time to properly train the Spartans, and they'd only be able to be in combat for a few months. What if your mission is longer than that? Plus, the nature of flash cloning, as it's described in the video, is a progressive deterioration of health, so you'd have soldiers getting these diseases soon after deployment. It's not like you have a real "kill switch", you're just making sickly Spartans.

As another person stated above flash cloning presents many problems because it basically makes them sick and only able to operate for a few weeks or months at best, that's not nearly enough time to get them to become perfect soldiers. Also, Spartan III's were almost just as good as Spartan II's if they had Mjolnir armor, and more specialized training and Spartan IIIs were also indoctrinated to hell in their training as ONI manipulated them to become killing machines to avenge their dead families at the hands of the covenant. If you really want a kill switch, just put a chip in their heads like the clone troopers in star wars. Personally, I like the idea of making a custom clone the slow way and correcting all of the genetic defects in a flash clone described in the video, so you can create the perfect model of spartan and then upgrade them further with augmentations as they grow and train. But I am really just worried about the cost of such a program, as growing clones this long way, and they would probably have limited numbers, but ONI being ONI, I'm sure they could get it done. If they were really just spartan killers, then they wouldn't need too many, a few dozen would do as I can't see huge numbers of Spartan IV's joining the innies. I could be wrong though.

Then have the Spartan V's be; one based on Eternity, and two the player character's we use in the multiplayer. We would be training as the new generation of Spartans. Then allowing Campaign DLC to be us as our own characters to take a central position in the plot for a bit.

All the Spartan DNA on record. Select the best aspects of each, implant and alter as much to make the crux of human warriors. Make Spartan V's not just loyal but now love them. Give them a bond outside of their Spartan family. Either through a pairing of parents or solo raising in 'off hours'. Guide them through questions on the implanted memories. Explain to them without setting them on a pedistool who they where meant to be, while reaffirming care and nurture. The end result will be more emotionally grounded humans who'll only question at the right times or moral judgements, while still putting the mission first.
Down side is time and money, from before birth, Dna coding isn't going to be cheap. Even a few bonds out of place or a resequence could entirely change a S5. Good idea. I love it as much as I love humanity.

Its not their augmentations or training or trademark lethality, but the social and psychological aspects of it. S-II and S-III classes were very reclused, with the former having more lore on the matter about their social and psych deficiencies when compared to normal humans. How do you think an S-V's training and upbringing would go? Would their social skills not go outside their squad? Their entire generation? How would they think? Feel? What happens when they see normal kids for the first time and then see themselves in the mirror and think, for the first time, "Why is that not me?" Would they even have a concept of fun? Joy? Sadness?

"if a Spartan 2 did go rogue, how would their psychology be changed from the normal rogue Spartan because of the indoctrination?"
I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Yes, they were indoctrinated via propaganda and conditioning. But... That is not mind control, no matter how you slice it. We have people today that grow up in cults and for all their lives only FERVENTLY believe in one truth about whatever it is in their cult. These people can abandon and "defect" from the cult. They can be psychologically "de-programmed."
...The point is, if a Spartan II is going rogue... they've already changed their minds and turned against their own mental conditioning/programming. And, no amount of mental conditioning is going to make you suddenly stop caring about things you care about. The Master Chief cares for his fellow Spartans, Cortana, ect. If someone from ONI killed all of Blue Team - murdered them right in front of John and said, "You've been decommissioned, ONI and the UNSC no longer has a need for you" - do you think John would just obediently turn over and die? Obviously not. He'd probably suffer from Doom Slayer levels of rage and when he's done ripping out the spine through the asshole of the guy that tried to kill him... He's probably going to continue to rip and tear until it's done with ONI.
And, it's almost getting to that point. John is starting to see how the sausage is made and what ONI is willing to do. And he knows damn well with that whole ONI doctoring footage to make him look like he was a traitor that ONI has *_ZERO_* issues with throwing him under the bus and it's just a matter of time. He's not dumb. But Brian Reed, the writer for Halo 5? Yeah, he's dumb as a box of rocks. We had "Hunt the Truth" just diving straight into this and... we got... Cortana... something... Created... Ebil Kortana... Whatever. What a waste.

I'd doubt it for one simple reason - that's expensive and extremely time intensive. ONI are beyond ruthless, yes, but they've also got their penny pinchers and hiding a program that'd cost so much and take so long would be extremely difficult. At the end of the day what I suspect will happen is a return to the methods used in the Spartan III program, albeit with far more careful selection. The original program suffered from two things - a subpar screening process with candidates since ONI just wanted warm bodies to hold a rifle, and a lack of investment as they were never intended to survive thus were never given the kind of education or mental conditioning the IIs had.
Aside from that, though? The Spartan III program, when it was provided with candidates that matched the IIs' stringent selection standards, produced Spartans that were every bit as good if not debatably better on average (provided we're strictly talking the CAT2s and Gamma survivors). On multiple occasions it was stated that such individuals were likely to eventually become even stronger and faster than the IIs provided they lived long enough to grow into their augmentations due to the advancements made in the process since the IIs, and the Gamma Company survivors that were integrated into the IVs were stated to be some of the best Spartans the UNSC had ever produced.
Most importantly, though, by comparison to the cloning method? It would be cheap and debatably far easier to hide. Spartans on par with the IIs or better would be produced at a fraction of the cost, likely even cheaper than the IVs currently are, and within a fraction of the time needed for cloning. Such clones would need anywhere between ten to fifteen years to produce a single new company of Spartan-Vs, assuming you don't accelerate growth to prevent damage to DNA similar to flash cloning. On the other hand enhancing and improving upon the methodology used by the IIIs would produce combat viable companies within only three to five years. In terms of being cost effective such methodology would produce anywhere between two to three companies of Spartan-Vs for every one of the clone batches at a conservative estimate. Moreover, the method is a PROVEN one. Project CHRYSANTHEMUM had a near 100% success rate and was merely a series of four injections. The issue of nature vs nurture is always going to be one that people will debate, but if ONI were to miss something, just a single critical element that made the previous Spartans classes so lethal, that would be ten to fifteen years wasted on just a single attempt with another ten to fifteen afterwards needed to merely see if your additional corrections worked.
Could ONI do it? Without a doubt. And provided they knew they could get it right on the first go I don't doubt they would. But the fact is such a project would be a huge gamble given the time investments required, and even if they got it right on the first go it'd likely be far too late to handle whatever problem ONI needs them for. Looking at a worst case scenario where multiple attempts are needed to perfect the cloning process and address potential flaws in the first batches? You're looking at anywhere between twenty to fifty years before you have a viable company.

To give my two cents one it: I find this idea intriguing but not attractive. One of the things I do actually like about the Spartan IV program IS the fact that they are people with for relate-able human backgrounds. To me it just works better for telling a story about humans stepping up to defend humanity. It is actually one of the dynamics I was not crazy about with the IIs & IIIs. Don't get me wrong, I understand that they have personalities and ARE people too, but thematically it works better with the Spartan IVs for me. Also, do not mistake this as me not likely the other generations of Spartan by any means. I feel like the more you detract from the Spartans feeling human, the more you detract from one of the core themes of the story. This is also why I have also been a strong proponent that there is nothing fundamentally wrong with the Spartan IVs other than their (as I would put it) incorrect depiction as Special Operators that would make anyone with a military background cringe insufferably. From a gameplay point of view I understand the power fantasy idea. I like it too. But, I think that the developers should be careful balancing their gameplay and storytelling moving forward as some things are compatible and others are not. However, this is only a theory as you've said and this is only my personal feelings on Halo's lore and story telling. Great content as always though. I love hearing these types of theories and opinions being shared openly.

It's *Lore* that the neural functions in mjolnir are located in the Helmet and that when taken off the suit's strength and reflex enhancements are lost. I want to know why a fully trained bad ass like Noble 6 took his off. HUD wasn't working but the armour benefit was still there so logically there has to be another reason for him taking it off. If the helmets neural link was damaged it could have been causing issues and justified taking it off... I was wanting to know how valid this idea was and any other possible explanations ... Ffs man this isn't anything like asking what sandwiches were eaten SMH.

6:33 Fun fact there is a unique bone mutation that I have that makes my bones 8x denser than the average persons making them virtually unbreakable, swimming isn't my favorite thing because I can't really float which really sucks because I like pools. But that mutation mixed in with some sci-fi magic super soldier serum would make a spartan that would be more god than demi-god.

Random proposal for another ad lib video:
Could the 50 Freelancers from Project: Freelancer (Red vs Blue) have been Spartan III’s and Spartan 2.2’s?
We know they wear Mjolnir-based armor, use Spartan Abilities, AI, and are often highly competent beings, almost or wholly super-human in nature.
At first, Dr. Leonard Church’s being the father of Carolina seems to debunk this, however he has both the resources to get Mjolnir, and an AI, and yet seems to have some reason not to have joined or functioned in the military. I think he was a Spartan II washout, and Carolina was a Spartan 2.2.
We know that there were 930 Spartan III’s, with the majority sent to suicidal missions en-mass, barring only a handful of teams and headhunters. Could

I am surprised ONI didn't include some sort of special codes into the newer Mjolnir to create remote triggers that would cause the armor to burn out it's controls, causing them to shut down and become inoperable, and incapable of being "Hacked" into working again without special ONI or Big Navy equipment that would prevent rebels from joining the insurgents with full Mjolnir equiped rogue Spartans, instead just having unarmored rogue Spartans which should be a decent bit reduced in effectiveness.

The SPARTAN V program could be like a fusion of Spartan II and Iron Man Armor Model 37 (Bleeding Edge Armor) which would be amazing to see. This is how it works:
    1. Selection - Gametes are selected from a gene pool derived from individuals with superior physical and mental capabilities compared to other human beings. At this point genetic engineering and manipulation techniques have evolved to the point that genes of these gametes can be altered accordingly to provide a wide array of desired results some of which will be discussed later. Once this is done the altered gametes are combined in various combinations to produce a zygote which are grown in birthing tanks for the full human gestation period.
    2. Birth - After birth SPARTAN-V babies are assigned to adoptive family units situated on a classified colony world where they are raised. Careful attention would be paid to providing a highly nutritious diet along with vitamin/mineral supplements (with added titanium and carbon) on a daily basis. This would continue throughout their lives.
    3. Year 1 - At age 6 SPARTAN-V candidates would go to a special military school where they would be put through hard training which was complemented with high-level education, which included mathematics, science, engineering, computing, reading, writing, history, martial arts and military tactics. They would be taught how to kill but at the same time would be taught the difference between right and wrong and careful attention was placed to ensure discipline, honor, and respect was instilled into the SPARTAN-V candidates [6].
    4. SPARTAN-V augmentation procedures - These were a series of biochemical and biomechanical manipulations applied to SPARTAN-V candidates during the onset of puberty. These included:
    (1) Muscular Enhancement Injections. A Protein complex is injected intramuscularly to increase tissue density and decrease lactase recovery time [4].
    (2) SPARTAN-V neural interface implant. An upgrade to previous neural interfaces utilized by previous SPARTAN generations it allows a SPARTAN-V to directly control their MBE armor and the nano-machines that comprise his/her MBE armor as well as also allow an AI to directly interface with the Spartan's brain at an almost instantaneous rate. The AI is said to reside both inside the armor and inside the wearer's mind. Essentially, it is in both places at once [5]. The interface also allows the AI control of the MBE nano-machines and therefore the armor's systems as well, though the Spartan has override control [5]. The AI is capable of significantly improving the data transfer rate between the motor cortex of the Spartan and the MBE armor, further improving the Spartan's already lightning-quick reaction time [5]. The AI Data Crystal Chip is inserted into a socket near the base of the Spartan's skull [5].
    (3) MBE Nano-machine Bonding Process. The MBE armor (Mjolnir Bleeding Edge) is made up of nano-machines attuned specifically to an individual SPARTAN-V's DNA composition that can turn into and create any type of structure upon the SPARTAN-V's skin [2]. The nano-machines reside within the bone matrix of the SPARTAN-V when not in use and when activated can turn into their default armor form or whatever the Spartan wants them to be/create on command via the SPARTAN-V neural interface link. In conjunction with an AI the possibilities become virtually endless.
Being composed of nano-machines the armor is capable of self-repair and therefore is almost invulnerable, as the armor is able to transform and heal itself, by having the constantly replicating nano-machines replace anything that is lost or used [2] and in addition the nano-machines are also able to heal the SPARTAN-V of almost any injures/illnesses they may sustain within seconds as well as enhance the existing biological functions of a SPARTAN-V if required. This is the most advance piece of military technology in human hands to date.
Alterations made in the genetic coding of candidates before birth meant that SPARTAN-V candidates did not have to undergo such dangerous, invasive procedures as previous generations of Spartans had to since it was not required. For instance:
    - Due to genetic alterations to the GH1 gene, SPARTAN-Vs would naturally produce more growth hormone than normal at the onset of puberty to boost growth of skeletal and muscle tissues and therefore the need for a catalytic thyroid implant was negated.
    - Due to alterations to the MSTN gene virtually no myostatin (a protein that inhibits muscle growth) is produced leading to increased muscle growth and strength.
    - Due to alterations to specific genes governing sensory acuity, SPARTAN-Vs possess heightened visual, audio and olfactory perception.
    - Due to genetic alterations to osteoblasts, titanium and carbon are naturally incorporated from the diet and used in the bone formation of SPARTAN-Vs the result being their bones are naturally as strong, if not stronger, than Spartans who have undergone ceramic carbide ossification surgery [1].
    - Due to genetic alterations the neural dendrites of SPARTAN-Vs are already super-myelinated giving them an already 300% increase in subject reflexes as well as marked increase in intelligence, memory, and creativity [1].
    - Genetic alterations meant that SPARTAN-Vs are physically/mentally perfect specimens and therefore their internal organs are already operating at peak capacity meaning they do not require replacing with artificial ones, especially when the repairing/enhancing capabilities of the MBE nano-machines present negated any such necessity.
All this meant that SPARTAN-Vs could be created in greater number, with a far greater success rate and with even GREATER capabilities to all past generations of SPARTANS, including SPARTAN-IIs.
So there you have it what do people think? Give me your thoughts and respects to Installation00 whose creative ideas were the basis of my own.

Wouldn't it be more efficient to use smart A.I.s in combat? Link them to a robotic frame and attach Mjolnir powered armor. Spartans think fast but I assume smart A.I.s think faster. Spartans can't fully utilize the extent of Mjolnir armor without damaging themselves and I think A.I.s could bypass that issue. And the use of A.I. would be less of a moral problem for ONI instead of cloning people while simultaneously being able to program loyalty into an A.I. shouldn't be too hard. I think a smart A.I. hunter-killer units could be effective Spartan Killers.

That there would be issues wirh them because not child solfiers and not indoctrinated etc etc. So i thought perhaps a Spartan V class but wirh clones that have issues ironed out. So wow, yoy also have thought of this, but gone much further with it. Like, for instance, the spartan k8ller idea. I theorised another great enemy, but didnt know what/who. And that they saw need to return to Spartan II child soldiers but in a way that avoided ethical issues, as spartan program well known. Well done on this video. I agree that this would be the next step for the reasons you outlined.

Best option would be to clone the most successful Spartans with added DNA refinements and cognitive mapping with the experience of Spartan IIs. A upgraded neural interface fitted with a micro AI to enhance intelligence beyond even augmented Spartans and reinforce indoctrination to prevent rebellion and refusal of orders, as well as a permanent increase in reaction time and possibly some sort of bio feedback to improve overall performance.
Here's a question I've had for a while: could the neural interface used by all UNSC members be used by ONI to subliminally indoctrinate those fitted with them, causing personnel to be more in line with their beliefs and morals ( if they had any ) ensuring loyalty and obedience to the UNSC, while any orders given by ONI are followed with little to no refusal.

Put some kind of durable material, grown on the cellular level, that weaves throughout the brain as it develops. This means the brain is no longer jelly-like, and much more tough, greatly reducing brain damage should something get into the skull, and preventing the knockout effect when the brain sloshes inside the skull.
