The song "I Drove All Night" was written by American songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. It was originally intended for Roy Orbison, who recorded it in 1987, but his version was not released until 1992 (posthumously.) The song gained significant popularity when Cyndi Lauper released her version in 1989, which became a top 10 hit.
Thanks a lot. This is one of my favorite song ever. I first discovered the song on a compilation titled "13 deadly sins" of Cindy Lauper. I didn't know it was a cover of Roy Orbison's original version. I was so haunting and the increasing crescendo till the outtro made me climb to heaven. So I couldn’t help but listen to it again and again. On that same "Best of" another song "I'm gonna be strong" did the same mesmerizing effect on me. Several years after when I heard Roy's original version, I felt the same magic. Céline's cover is pleasant but my preference by far goes to the two previous versions cause of their powerful rocky arrangement and huge soaring atmosphere.
It's one of my favourote Celine songs! It just puts me in a good mood. Celine vocals are on fire and being able to hear it live in 2017 was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Thank you for your reaction! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
It’s so hard imagining her being in the situation she’s in now because she was so energetic and truly has an amazing voice that could never be replaced.
Hola como estas...por favor puedes reaccionar tambien a otros temas hermosos de celine dion, como por ejemplo when i need you, call the man, riverdeep mountain high, the power of love, the power of the Dreams, i believe in you Whit IL Divo muchas gracias 😘
I'm going to agree with most comments here that Cyndi's version is best. The dance beat of this version somehow ruins the sentiment. Cyndi and Roy's versions are much more dramatic and heart felt. The opening strings making that heart beat sound are fantastic on Cyndi's
Celine has a powerful voice; yet the version done by Cyndi Lauper is so much better. Cyndi's soft start and building up the yearning tells a story into itself; Celine's version has no soul and the music is too happy.
@@SaeedReacts. I didn't even know this was a Roy Orbison song. 🙂 All these years I thought Celine was covering Cyndi Lauper. Celine's more of a powerhouse, but Cyndi Lauper was beloved in the 80's.
I'm not the biggest fan of Celine Dion, she's such a copy cat. I drove all night is a song by Roy Orbison. Even the power of love, originally by Jennifer Rush. I'm sorry, but I don't share your enthusiasm.
Dig into the world of covers, prepare to be amazed at how many songs are covers. I mean, there are a ton! Most artists cover songs they love, that they like to perform, and as an homage in some cases. Also, check out how many artists are trying to cover her...to each their own.
Copy cat? i gues you don't know anything about the music world, almost 90% of every artist covers songs from other artist it has been done since the 50's and they still doing it today so don't judge and only make a reaction only about Celine because you don;t know anything about Celine.
I play that song STILL today in my car never get tired of it her voice is so spectacular in that song love IT ❤
Same. It’s a true jam.
@@JohnG500 Indeed 😁❤️
Same❤🎉🎉

Great song and video!
Definitely will get into Roy Orbison's music as well.

Love our Celine!
Sono unfan di selindion
One of my favorites as well! If you would like to hear another different side from Celine, I would recommend the recording session of Mr Paganini
Je suis fan depuis le début je l ai connue gamine ❤
It’s so hard imagining her being in the situation she’s in now because she was so energetic and truly has an amazing voice that could never be replaced.
It is heartbreaking.
Fabulous song. Fabulous feeling you get watching. I drove all night, I remember those days ❤
Great song, I haven’t heard it in years but definitely a different side of Celine especially since she sings so many ballads
This song was first recorded by Roy Orbison. He got a golden voice too.
If you asked me to will always be my fav song from her❤ but she is just amazing.
She truly is amazing! Thanks for watching.
Only got to this. One of my favorites as well. Absolutely great. Tx for this. Love the beat.
Greetings from South Africa
Great song! Thanks for watching. Greetings from Belgium.
Saw Celine in Ft. Lauderdale🎉☄️ 🌹🌹Great Mr S 📿😎☀️☀️☀️🇺🇸♥️
Love this song, and I think she looks hot in the vid.
Would you please react to Celine Dion Goodbye's (the saddest word) please?
Great song! Thanks for watching and the recommendation.
Love your reaction
Thank you!
I first heard this from Cindy Lauper. Great song 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I have been hearing great things about that version.
This is awesome, however I love Cindy Lauper's version. You need to listen to her version, and the video is sensual. Love it!
Will add that version too my list. Thanks.
Fun fact: Céline was severely ill when recording this! Still came out fantastic.
❤
❤️
I am always entranced by Roy Orbison but I do believe that Celine did a better job on the song.
Santa

This is an amazing 3rd place effort. Both Roy and Cindy's are better.
Of course Celine is great when she sings ANYTHING....but I prefered Cyndi Lauper's version. (Even over Roy Obision's take!!)

Celine is a great singer, but for this song I prefer Cyndi Lauper's version
Will add that one to my list!
why dont u just react to her live performances of these songs?? they're more impressive than the plain studio version
I have, but a lot of them get blocked and i also react to what people request.
And someone will always want a different version.
While this is a great version, I'm joining the Cyndi Lauper fan club. 🙂
Seems many people are in that club :)

THE LIVE VERSION IN LAS VEGAS IS SO MUCH BETTER!!!
I loved Cyndy Lauper's version so much I could never get into Celine's cover.
Must give that one a listen

That’s because you know exactly nothing about her
@veeeff2323 So true

Luckily for you there's other options, so you don't have to listen to her rendition of the song nor watch the reactions to it
