@WilfulBicycle14 I have a feeling that the 13 pro max would've had a chance to win it, so imagine all the negative publicity from it... I own a 13 promax for 6 months now and it's crazy, the phone holds better than my work phone (an android with a 5000+ mAh battery).

What's sketch about it? He literally says the 13 Pro Max lasted longer in the last test than the 14 Pro Max at the end of the video. He didn't test the 13 Pro either.

I had the 12 before I swapped to the 14 pro, and I can definitely see a difference in the charge; I had to charge the 12 at least twice in a day but with my 14 pro it can last me up to 2/3am the next day. Currently I get around to around 50% after 7 hours of usage with RUclips playing fairly often
Edit: after a day of heavy usage I’m at 7% after around 12 hours of use
bro wtf are you doing to charge your phone twice in a day. i mean im on it a lot. tiktok, youtube, texting, maybe some clash here n there. im on it for about at least 7-10 hours a day and by the time im going to bed my phone is usually around 30% lowest is 20%. like tf you doin lmfao. you on facetime with someone for half the day or what. i have a 12 btw.

Nice one Arun! Side note, I have a 13 Pro Max. Got it in October last year and it still has 98% battery capacity. On iOS 16. With moderate use (Reddit, websites, calls, texts, the odd photo) I will go anywhere from 24 to 36 hours without charging and STILL be left with 50% battery charge. This still keeps it a 3 - 4 day phone for me even over a year later. It really is dependent on your own use case.
Still does amazing for me, I still have a 80/90% use by the end of the day when a full work day is in play

I just got my iPhone 13 this week, such a big change. I was surprised about its battery life (my old phone would drop to 40% after 2 hours and this one stayed at 75%)

when I got the 13 I was blown away by the battery life. It was such a great feature because we get regular power outages where I live and having this phone just meant I didn’t have to worry about my phone being charged.
Since you mentioned the change you felt in battery life, I think it would be interesting to see how much the battery life goes down on different phones.
I wanna see how long they last after 6 months or a year I do think most phone when you get them the battery is really amazing for the first year but after that they degrade

The problem with a test like this is the variability of battery degradation from person to person. In short, the more you use your phone, the more the battery degrades, making tests on battery degradation very difficult unless you have a setup testing every phone at the same time doing certain tasks for a certain amount of time each day.
@@CarterPersall also buying a new phone 📱 and doing a battery test will not tell the full story of how long the battery last from day to day use in a 3 month test
I’ve had my 13 pro max for 10 months and I have tried to charge between 50-80% as often as possible and only used the apple MagSafe charger and my battery is doing excellent. It doesn’t seem to die any quicker than when I first got it and the battery health in the phone settings shows 99%. I don’t know how accurate apples own rating of my battery is and I know not everyone can or will charge their phones between 50-80% as much as I have but this is so far the best battery life and longevity that I’ve experienced in a phone yet.
You should have included the 13 pro max here it would have been great comparing to the 14 pro max

I just upgraded from the XR to the 12. Even though this vid does not recommend it, I do!! The jump in battery life is mind blowing. Also the oled screen on the 12 is leagues better than the XR.

When the 14 Plus is finally here I want to see the hole 13 and 14 lineup against each other really badly. I would be especially interested in how the 13 Pro and Pro Max compare to the new Pros and the Plus, I got a feeling it might and close and that the Plus could really surprise us

Just recently upgraded from the original SE to the 14 plus. I would recommend the 14 plus. It covers most basic needs and has a great battery and screen. Its so massive compared to my old phone

I got the 13 mini. Really like the compact size making it very practical and easy to use. Not a fan of the huge iPhone sizes like plus or max far too big for me. I’m looking at getting the 14 pro. Don’t have how people manage to rock any bigger size haha 😂

That’s how flagship phone on it’s end of life performs because of the never ending increasing demand in computing power.
Back when it was new, most of the tasks can be done easily with its high efficiency cores making it feels cool and barely sips power.
As it ages the computing demand increases and it need to engage its high performance core more often.
At the end of its lifespan nearly all apps or tasks need to engage the high performance core because the high efficiency cores is barely adequate for anything other than light background tasks making your old phone feels just like a heater that drains tons of battery for simple activity.
Amazing video man, but tbh would have loved to see this test compared with a 13 pro and pro max. I have a 13 pro and battery life is for me one of the key aspects of a phone for me (as being away the whole day some days) and I never have problems with the battery but sometimes I had to really watch out so I would have liked to know the difference between the 13 pro and pro max compared to the 14s
Do you really need to see such a fine level of detail? Iphone 13 pro battery life: great. Iphone 14 pro battery life: great. Both are great, you don't need to waste further time even thinking about that subject.

It’s not about the battery alone but all the aspects makes you buy it or not
I'm not hating Apple here but one thing some or most Android smartphones do well is the minimal consumption of battery power. And some of these phones are also equipped with batteries that have 800 or more charging cycles. Fancy hardware and software specs are nothing if they don't work well with the battery or have a battery that degrades faster than the rest. This is true for mobile devices in general.

Hi, thanks for this test! With the iPhone 14 Pro, I’m quite literally blown away by how great the battery is. I’m consistently getting atleast 10 hours of screen in time, with 20% left by the end of the day. 90% of that screen time is spent on RUclips.

Extremely proud of my 13 Mini ! I'm so sad they didn't decide to do a pro version this year, with a 3rd camera lens and 120hz. Would have been an insta-buy for me
I’m not proud at all of the 13 mini. Lots of bugs, serious overheating, poor ecosystem (apart the watch) and very bad battery life (i managed to make it die 5 times in a day).

I have a coworker who got a 12 mini when it came out and after a year his battery was down to 72% because he only ever charged it on the stand in his car wirelessly, that shit kills batteries so fast it's not even funny.
@@guyknightley3499 I look after my 12 mini (changed via cable only) and not really used in direct sunlight. If I have a day using 5G/4G only, I'm lucky to last 4hrs of screen on time. Battery degradation is 83%.

As an owner of the 13 mini, it was surprising to see how this model behaved throughout this test.
In the video test it was comfortably ahead of the regular 13 and 12 models (2-3%), but when it came to gaming - which I never do - it lost at least 5% to these two. I wonder what the reason is.

I love watching your videos. I have a 13 Pro Max so my battery life is long considering I barely use the brightness as I have very light sensitive eyes. I am very battery conscious. My phone, through the special usage I do, can last up to 17 hours before it dies.

AOD is running at 1HTZ so it shouldn’t take lots of battery. It’s also smart when II’s in your pocket the screen will turn off, when the room is dark the AOD dims and if you leave the room and have a Apple Watch connected it will turn the screen off.

your previous test done last year shows that iphone 13 pro max has better battery life than 14 pro max. but if you compare them now side by side 14 would have better battery, they decreased battery life of 13s with an update just to make their latests look better.

You’re right! I wondered to myself why my phone was losing about 10-15% battery more by the end of the day out of no where and that makes sense.
Or because as what he said in the video, he uses it more and battery health decreased?!
The previous test also showed the 12 losing by half an hour to the 13 mini, yet this time the 13 mini stayed about the same, while the 12 outperformed it. There is no cheating here, just not all phones are exactly the same, and this tests are not 100% scientific and repeatable.

Great to see my iPhone 13 perform like a champ! It's only when I'm playing a game like BBR2 that the battery goes down relatively faster, otherwise it's impeccable even with frequent bouts of 4k capture.

@@Glenn-Mon It's simple mate. You can't compare iPhone mAHs to Android mAHs. The incredible integration of iOS with Apple hardware mean efficiency levels remain extremely high. If you are looking for a long-lasting phone, the iPhone 13 is definitely your friend provided you don't spend extra for the Pro Max which is incredible. I was an Android user for 10 years and I can confidently say that the iPhone batteries are worth more than what the figures suggest. My recommendation - go for it, you won't regret it. (as long as you're aware of the limitations of iOS that is)

I was totally looking forward to this video but disappointed that you didnt include the 13 pro and 13 pro max here to compare. I was trying to make a decision on getting my hands on the last stocks of 13 pro or settle for the 14 pro - and I thought this video would help but it didnt. I think it's especially now that it's important to include 13 pro/pro max while stocks last.
I hope you can remake another comparison with 13 pro and 13 pro max for people like me. :(

Just got an iPhone 13 for Christmas and I love it I had an XS for a while till I broke it and then an old 8 which lasted like 2 hours or something and was shattered and this is so nice, reminds me of my old phone yet so much h better at the same time plus now I won’t even need a charger with my everywhere I go

If I may suggest for you a phone test that I have not seen anybody give as of yet it would be a business class of test for those of us that travel along with our phone and are constantly using GPS. Nothing consumes battery more than using GPS. The screen stays on bright the entire time you have a transmit receive function, going on and constant. Updates on the road conditions. And yes, we plug our phones in when possible but we are out and about and not always in the vehicle. When you walk away from the vehicle, you can’t leave your phone in the vehicle and when you were in and out of the vehicle constantly you don’t always get the phone plugged back in.
I appreciate the people saying that they would've liked a 13 pro max test, or a 13 pro test... but they're not being sold by Apple anymore, and he said at 0:15 that he has basically every phone that Apple is selling, so it makes sense why. He also makes quite a few comparisons to the 13s throughout the videos.

I was waiting for 13PM vs 14PM comparison, kinda dissapointing they were not included but looking at the 13 we can see ~8% between 13 and 14P and therefore 13P as it has very similar battery so I would guess around 15% for the 14PM when compared to 13PM. I really wonder how much battery the always on display takes though
If Mrwhosetheboss battery test for the iPhone 13PM last year is the same as this year for the 14PM. Then the 13PM lasted 21 minutes more. The 13PM has 29MAH bigger battery than the 14PM. But the A16 has 20% more efficient high performance cores, the 5G chip (X65) is more power efficient.

Interesting how the 12 was beating the 13 for the first 50% of battery life but the final 50% the 12 crashed much faster.

Excellent video as always. I saw battery drop off on my iPhone 13 Pro Max while using the beta. The beta was especially battery draining compared to past betas. I think the new iOS 16 software is generally just more battery draining

@@iustiniannegrei7244 yeah, I feel like Apple was more focused on other parts of this update, and so the battery optimisation might not have been as good as 15.6 or 15.5. Might be solved in a further update though

Interesting to see the 13 Mini seem to outlast the standard 13 for a big part of the test.

Cuz it has a smaller screen to light up, so videos and general scrolling stuff work in Mini's favor.
BUT the moment something requires medium or high processing, the energy demand is same cuz of exact same chipset in both, and having a much smaller battery makes Mini lose the % far quickly.
I couldn't help but notice my iP13 starting lose battery faster after updating to iOS16. I could be wrong tho

Honestly I expected alot more since the iPhone 13 Pro Max had god tier battery life and the a16 is so much more efficient the 14 pro max should last a lot longer but was underwhelming a bit from apple’s set expectations

Personally, I think that the se 2020 is highly underrated and is looked down upon just because of its size. It is very powerful and it is the only one that can fit in my pocket. I think that having a home button is not all bad, and we are all now used to having no home button. This might be bias saying that my phone is an se 2020 but when you start using it more in your daily life, it can become quite handy and not all bad. Especially for the price and the fact that it still supports the new iOS updates, it can be a very good phone

Starting minute 1:07 the brightness of the 14Pro has been lower than on the other phones.
I guess you accidentally touched it while switching between apps, but I would be curious about the 14 pro's performance in the same conditions as the other ones. Either way, thanks for the video and for the work. I am more reassured about my future pro max, hopefully getting it tomorrow.
