I had panoptics lenses implanted in both eyes in December. An hour after the first surgery I was reading the 20/50 line. It’s now been a month and I’m so happy with my decision. For the first time since 1970 I no longer need to wear glasses

Just a FYI for everyone considering multifocals either from symfony or panoptics they WILL give you visual effects like starbursts, glares, concentric rings at night. How do I know? I've had one placed in my right eye and insisted on a lens exchange for a monofocal

You can go with monofocal route and get addon trifocal lens like Rayner Sulcoflex or 1stQ Addon. If you cant tolerate halos and starburts, explanting addon lens is less stressfull for your eye / poses less risk than in-bag lens replacement.
Also, for how long did you have the trifocal lens in your eye? There is 3-12 months neuroadaptation period

Daniel Cipra Yup, I'm trying the Bausch & Lomb Ultra Multifocal contact lens now and it's helping a lot with the near vision
I had the multifocal in for 6 months, I have the monofocal IOL now. the images of the multifocal will always be there from the mutifocal lens design, those don't away. Yeah, your brain will be less annoyed by it but they will always be visibly present. It's not something that I could have tolerated on a daily basis

@@JmieRUclips Cool, good luck with that :) Good comment by the way, yeah, the halos & glares can't really go away, you just kinda get used to them.. or so I have been told :) I have Eyeol EyePCL in my left, nondominant eye (it's an addon lens) and I am getting rayner sulcoflex trifocal addon on 4/9/2020 (9.4.2020 for non-US folk). If I won't be able to tolerate photic phenomena (halos&glares), I will get these addon lenses explanted and go back to monofocals (that I alrdy have in my capsular bag(s)).
Did it bother you during driving @ night? do you do a lot of nightly activities?

@@nikolicvladimir I am sorry, have you tried the trifocal lenses instead, or is it the one that is giving you problems?

Ge' Angelo I got synergy lenses, right eye is now 7 weeks, left eye almost three weeks. Doctor keep saying that surgery went perfect. That my pupil is a bit bigger then other people’s so light comes in around lens. Thought that could be seen before the surgery. And definetely I noticed that my pupils after the surgery are huge. I mean really huge. The right one, first performed, was almost double size sometimes then the left eye before done it. Now both are huge

If your primary objective is to get rid of glasses completely then go for it but just remember you may sacrifice the. great contrast and sharpness day and especially night vision you could have had with monofocals. I wouldn't want to have to have my brain learn to "adapt" to any lens.

You make several good points. The brain adapting part is just what your brain does all the time. The natural lens in your eye projects images upside down on the retina. For folks who must get an artificial lens because of cataracts, these new lenses can be a godsend.
