I just realized that I'm looking at a 5 year old instruction video for a 12 year old game which I bought less than a year ago. COH is one hell of a game :D
I've played it since it first released and it's the only the RTS I watch matches of for fun even when I take long breaks from the game. Make sure you watch some of the tournaments, theyre really entertaining, especially Semois games.
For moving across the screen (for small distances) I got used to press on the mouse wheel and then move the mouse. The fact that the cursor keeps its x/y coordinates is something I love and that I got used for being quicker. But it's only good for precise, small screen moves on the field.
Thanks a lot for sharring all these tips man, really appreciated. I never finished COH campaign or played online but now, with the control groups tips and general tips it should make the game much much more enjoyable for me. Thanks again!
Good video, Inverse! I Started watching your VVSMG videos around Monday night and havent left my computer chair since. Alls I hear is your voice. 60 straight hours of Inverse videos..
Nice episode, I have learned quite a lot from your videos so far. About hotkey customisation: I have been thinking about binding all the skills of the units to Q,W and E while reserving R for retreat (possibly E for reinforcing). Would you recommend such a setup or would it be too confusing? Should I have special hotkeys for the different kinds of skills or can I roll with this?
It really just comes down to keeping half an eye on everything thats happening. And if you have stationary units, guys in cover for example, keeping more of an eye on them in terms of grenades being thrown,
Would you recommend binding tac map to the side buttons on a mouse (I've got the 2 on the side, Mouse4 and 5). Otherwise, what else would you do with them?
Great vid, thanks! How do all the top players spot nades when they go in on squads? I've tried to stop babysitting units in fights but I'm suffering when my oppenent nades by doing so.
thank you ive always wonered if there were hotkeys .i will look at your setup i just started a month ago and i was getting frustrated because i do know strategies but i wasnt fast scrolling from place to place ,lol
Hey Inverse, could you make a video, or reply with how you deal with fast vet 3 Wehr infantry? I've been having that problem, in alot of mid-level play. Then they're able to basically beat Vet 0 Rifles, no matter what. Usually, they'll also go Blitzkrieg. So they can use there assault grenades ability against early rifles.
hey, thanks for the vid! Your tone and how you are laying down the advice too us is great, feels neutral, not too pushy, feels like i can really listen clearly.. well i can! Idk, you explain well. Well done! Thanks yo! i think i watched some of this a year ago as well =p
Hello Inverese, new sub and CoH player here. I want to ask you, with grid hotkeys (considering using them) what happens with orders such as upgrading to flamethrower and rebuilding lost troops of a unit squad?? Also, HQ and Barracks and stuff keeps being F1, F2, etc or that are remaped too?? Hope you can answer! Love your vids, help me a lot with my CoH progression.
I think a lot of what you're saying is down to player preference, and what works better for them. Hot keys are something all players should use but tactical map for movement and things like that i think are not for everyone.
Great video! It absolutely annoys me to watch livestreams of players who are absolutely horrendous at efficient gameplay. Side question, what mech keyboard do you have?
Heh, you could have linked to the two D-9 mechanics videos :]. I remember watching them over a year ago and using it to great effect in CoH. Good stuff though.
Awesome video I've learnt a lot from this, I agree with everything except WASD, I think that's your weakest point, and the one most open to people's opinion.
Thank the devs for modern RTS Games like Wargame or Call to Arms because they completely strip away the boring and simpleton Spamming tactics these old RTS games promote.

It really is! Especially playing multiplayer against another human! It’s perfectly balanced!
I've played it since it first released and it's the only the RTS I watch matches of for fun even when I take long breaks from the game. Make sure you watch some of the tournaments, theyre really entertaining, especially Semois games.
Just realised I'm looking at a 6 year old comment on an 11 year old instruction video for an 18 year old game :P
I've had this game for 11 years and am just now getting into it. Your tips are very helpful. Thank you!

Very well presented and spoken tutorial, along with the extensive knowledge that will help many on the battlefield.

This game led me to a galore of rts games, ranging from hearts of iron, close combat, warcraft, starcraft, coh 2, men of war, many others.

Mas Mote What is the philosophy? Is it the build order? I tried to look it up. I know this was a year ago. Thanks.
Man, this is one strooong video, my friend. 💪 Thank you, sincerely, for putting the work in and THEN posting it as well. 🙏
Why can't I give more than one single "👍"... cuz damn this video deserves it!! 👍👍👍
idk why i still watch your videos after i havent played COH for like 6 months...

Inverse, please make more StratTalk videos--even if they are coh1 focused. These are fantastic.

Speshul blu switches?
Do you have to have your mouse sensitivity fairly high to use the minimap for moving?
Nice video, but i'm a bit disappointed that you did not explain the philosophy behind the F1F2F1F2 start that you do.
Great vid. Was looking for a COH2 strat vid, and this is of course just the same (almost).
No need for the disclaimer at 24:00. We ARE here for the improvement tips :)
That think with control groups how do i do it? or it still work in steam version?
Which key u use to command ?
Every inversegr vid just doesn't buffer to hd for me... At all. Is anyone having the same issues
pls tell me what is the mod name ? pls !!

Great video mate finally a good video about it good work inverse
how can i see my squads veterency ?
those blue cherry are so loud...
Great video, again. More of that stuff please!
Agree with you Inverse. You certainly understand stuff =)
I really hate when people don't use the tac map. It is beyond useful. I have it bound to the side of my mouse, such convenience.
I found a star craft player!! Hello my brother!
YES! Thank you Inverse!
Very helpful video, thanks!

my computer is slow so the game isn't smooth so I have to click on the minimap.
great insight, thank you.
wtf do i do with tanks they always die :( too hard to babysit. same with snipers
You're probably a level 5 player, and that's fine if you're just playing for fun. Competitively, it's a terrible idea to map your keys that way.
nice vid
Same here. Big disappointment, unsubscribing.
Im crazy or your volksgrenadiers are using black tshirts??
is this a mod???
