It's a fun aircraft. I like these quick light sports brings fun back to VFR. You'll get spoiled by IFR after awhile. Sometimes you just need to go stick and rudder and the JMB VL-3 is a great VFR experience.
*Those of you on XBOX or using a XBOX controller you need to bind propeller pitch. I like using both left and right bumpers plus A or B to increase or decrease RPM (aka propeller pitch). Microsoft has a few bugs with it's updates. It's generally a good idea to have prop control binded on the controller but its a must on this aircraft or you'll be redlining the whole flight with out a way to adjust. I would just ignore the RPM setting on the aircraft and fly by the placard using prop control on a peripheral. It's about right!

"Take a nice little tug, and then pop ourself off". Hilarious! Yes, flying this plane is like that, satisfying! Thanks for the video!

Great video! I am flying this plane right now on my neofly flight sim career.
Was wondering if this can be used for IFR flights on the Vatsim network or better to stick with VFR? I normally take short jobs of less than 60 NM.

Very nice! Wish we had a better Garmin 3X, but I guess everybody is waiting for Working Title to do their magic, once they are finished with the G1000. A ton of smaller GA planes would benefit from it ...

How can you use rpm control ? it's say out of service and I can't act on it when I try

How did you get your manifold pressure all the way up there (when taking off)? Mine is stuck super low, changing throttle or propeller pitch does not seem to affect it at all.

when i use the prop rpm control it does nothing beside changing the big number on that small screen

This is my favorite plane in the sim. I just don't understand how it has the fancy avionics but no autopilot.

It technically does. GMC507. The real ones do. Autopilot is kind of useless in most light sports as you won't be flying long and far in most cases. But I agree it would be nice to see it work. I wouldn't mind running that Rotax a distance for sim purposes.
Future updates maybe they'll fix or bring it back. JMB has a lot of options for this aircraft now not to mention a 915 turbocharged engine LOL. You can literally buy one with just about anything. Parachute systems hydraulic propellers. They'll build you one anyway you want. Microsoft should just update the VL-3 to be top of the line from what JMB provides. You can even get these things with out retractable landing gear. Light sport had a bad name do to inexperience and experimental aircraft. They are definitely coming up although with today's technology.

@@ksull72487 Well the version in the sim technically don't. I'm well aware of the limitations of light sport, but still many models have autopilot on them.

I presume if people are grinding achievements with autopilot!

Autopilot (2 axes) is coming this year in Germany. All VL3 are equipped with die Garmin autopilot GSA28, servos are included, but not installed yet.

My favorite also, been flying it a long time. GET the ROTAX mod. Also change skin, it'll let you get T's and P's on the pilot display.

This plane is completely broken in the current version.
