I’ve had the Otrifowd sun shade in my 2022 MY for a couple of months now. The accordion design essentially gives an air pocket between the top and bottom layers, giving better heat protection. The trick to installing those front screws is to put the long thin screwdriver through the hole in the shade and line up the clip with that. Then pull out the screwdriver and the screw will be lined up.
I have this and I am very very happy with it. I also live in Melbourne. I have only had it for about 5 months so have haven't used it yet in one of those 40 degree summer days yet, but so far it does the job, looks almost OEM, and I don't have to take it on and off to suit different weather conditions. Otrifowd have a version 2 which requires more assembly and comes in a smaller package and is therefore cheaper, but from what I have seen on reviews, it doesn't fit as nicely as this original one. While not cheap, I would personally pay extra for this original version which is fully assembled. It means that you don't have to turn on aircon as high as you normally would on hot days, and theoretically should improve efficiency/range of your car on those long summer road trips!

Hey Bobby - each to their own and I'm surprised that you don't have an issue with heat from the sun. Might I suggest that you test a car that has a built in shade system and then come back to your Tesla and let me know how you feel about it? Like I said in the video, you don't necessarily need one, and for most days of the year I'm fine without it... most days... except today when its 31 degrees with no cloud cover. And PS - I definitely didn't sell out as I gave this product fair and reasoned feedback in the video. I could have easily edited out the install difficulty, but didn't. Again, thanks for watching and hoping you tune in for my next video, the Genesis GV60 review... which has a built in shade system. :-)
Thanks Greg, I appreciate your work too and the support you've given me - many hours of free unpaid time doing this gig called RUclips. I'm pretty sure I didn't deserve the sell out comment as I didn't hide any of the issues with it. I guess damned if we do, damned if we don't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
“You will absolutely feel the heat, I don’t care who you are” I’m 6’2, my head basically touches the roof on my model 3 but I’ve never had issue with residual heat. I live in NSW in a much warmer area than you. Disclosures don’t necessarily correlate to not selling out. Your other content is great but this is terrible. Soon you’ll look like Tesla Tom with 45 logos before viewing starts. Hope it doesn’t end up this way.
I’m 6’2”. While the roof glass does filter almost all of the UV and IR, the roof itself does get hot and it re-radiates that heat into the cabin and my head gets uncomfortably hot.

Great video, thanks.

I'm with you, I'm glad I got this version as it looks OEM and works well.
Yeah I feel the heat, this will be my first summer in the model 3
Hopefully not too many hot days ahead
Only manually operable sunshade is super dump from such a high tech company like Tesla
It’s fine without it. Another Tesla RUclipsr selling out 😢
