You nailed it Brian. The first 10 years of Djing I ran in to that exact issue of a "Bad Memory" twice during a gig. That's when I changed my question to them for that scenario. Since the next 18 years there hasn't been an issue. Great video of course!

I like the idea of just getting rid of the DNP list all together. I did change it a while back, on our online planning form they can give me up to 4 songs and it's limited at 4 songs with this disclaimer. "This list is not meant to be an exhaustive collection of songs or artists you dislike, but rather a way to identify songs that may trigger negative feelings or emotions you wish to avoid on your special day."

I agree 100%. That’s why I switched from asking for a do not play list to what are some songs that will ruin your wedding night. And then my do not playlist every time drops from 20 to 50 songs all the way down to less than 10.

This is exactly what I started doing. Years ago, I was once given a Do Not Play list that basically just said no Lil Jon or Pitbull. Most of the songs the couple requested included one or the other.

You nailed it. This was how I handled it when I was still doing it.
