  • Putting together the Fire Sense patio heater from Costco. Then taking it outside and testing it the only way a scientist would, with a meat thermometer. Overall a pretty good looking patio heater but there are some limitations depending on your climate. Also, stuck around to the end of the video for some bonus footage!

    This video was perfect!
    Our Costco unit didn't come with any instructions and this video made it so easy to set up.
    Thank you!

    You saved my bacon! Mine is a Rovsun (Zokop) model KLD7002S but close enough. First, I had to drill out the holes to hold the wheel assembly on and then try to make sense of the instruction book to put it together. Your video made perfect sense and my wife thanks you because the video greatly reduced the obscenities that were flowing from my former Marine mouth! Greatly appreciated...it should be referenced at the beginning of the instruction book!

    Thank you very much, Sir! I was just about to buy one. I will just keep that money. Houston, Texas weather is not really that harsh, and even if it gets harsh, that heater apparently isn't going to help, anyway. This video is worth its' weight in gold! Thanks again!

    Here I am watching the video AFTER I put the heater together. I made the same mistake with the heat shield. Had to remove the inside bolts to get the center shield on.

    Have this sitting in my garage right now. After seeing how little the temp is affected after turning it on I'm definitely returning it.

    great video! question, when turning this thing off, do you have to disconnect the hose leading to the propane tank or is just turning it off fine? Also, is this thing capable of getting wet?

    • @WingingItDIY
      @WingingItDIY  Месяц назад

      I would just get into the habit of turning off the supply at the propane tank. It hasnt had any issues in the rain.

    You will have to find a way to lower it to feel the heat. I have a different model but I just basically removed part of the main pole , it made a HUGE difference. It actually works now 😂

      @biged2193 10 месяцев назад +1

      That’s a brilliant idea. I just put it together. And after reading your comment, I realized I can literally cut it in half and lower it for when we’re sitting.

      @@biged2193 glad it was helpful, randomly I helped a friend build a few of these before a backyard bbq a about a month ago. some were full size and some were shorter, everyone preferred the shorter ones.

      @@EveryDayJay415how were you able to use just one pole to shorten it? I tried to use one pole but each end to each piece is needed for the other parts to attach to

    Why did the manufacturer have painted metal on the burn cage for it to burn off in the first few seconds of use. Looks terrible, I just got this heater I thought I did something wrong, nope, just made to look damaged from the start

  • @OPSteel97

    Hardly makes a temp difference. Why bother?

    • @WingingItDIY
      @WingingItDIY  3 года назад +3

      That is what I thought, it does make it a bit more comfortable in more moderate evenings or mornings. I would say low 60's with maybe just a tiny breeze. Anything cooler or windier you cant tell its on.

      Because this heater transfers heat through radiating infrared... Not by heating the air around you. The type of heater that warms up the air would be awful to use outdoors and your warm are would be blown away. Heaters that use the infrared are reflecting heat from the top hat down at your skin and clothes. Ever walk out on a cold cloudy day, but feel so much warmer when the clouds break and the suns light hits you? That's heat transfer through radiation in the infrared.

    • @WingingItDIY
