- Putting together the Fire Sense patio heater from Costco. Then taking it outside and testing it the only way a scientist would, with a meat thermometer. Overall a pretty good looking patio heater but there are some limitations depending on your climate. Also, stuck around to the end of the video for some bonus footage!

This video was perfect!
Our Costco unit didn't come with any instructions and this video made it so easy to set up.
Thank you!
Lmao I opened up the box and looked at the instructions manual and was like nah I’m just gonna watch someone assemble it on RUclips 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
This is me now lol ugh
That’s why I came here alright.
Right?!?
My comes today! It’s what NOT to do I’m interested in. Hahahahaha
Thanks for taking the time to post the installation
You saved my bacon! Mine is a Rovsun (Zokop) model KLD7002S but close enough. First, I had to drill out the holes to hold the wheel assembly on and then try to make sense of the instruction book to put it together. Your video made perfect sense and my wife thanks you because the video greatly reduced the obscenities that were flowing from my former Marine mouth! Greatly appreciated...it should be referenced at the beginning of the instruction book!
I bought the display one and it came with a tank they didnt notice lol
Excellent instructions with a rapid but understandable approach. Nicely done.
Thank you very much, Sir! I was just about to buy one. I will just keep that money. Houston, Texas weather is not really that harsh, and even if it gets harsh, that heater apparently isn't going to help, anyway. This video is worth its' weight in gold! Thanks again!
Thanks alot men, I have this one for 4 months and doesn't have manual, I buy it at Costco I just found your video and I put it together in 10 minutes, God bless
Glad I could help!
So much easier then reading these instructions. Thanks!
My parents bought this heater a year ago and never put it together because they aren’t to good with a Assembling things so I finally volunteered couldn’t have done it with out this video thank you man saved me so much stress 😂🙌
Thanks so much for such a clear and fun video. My husband and I did it, stopping your video at each step of the way. I’m really hoping they work better than you report at the end!
Did it work better?
Awesome Video. I always prefer to watch someone put stuff together instead of reading the instructions.
Here I am watching the video AFTER I put the heater together. I made the same mistake with the heat shield. Had to remove the inside bolts to get the center shield on.
Mine's been blown over a few times bent the hell out of the heat shield lol. Ended up replacing the heat shield .
Watched it just for the bonus footage!
Have this sitting in my garage right now. After seeing how little the temp is affected after turning it on I'm definitely returning it.
Ya, not worth it!
great video! question, when turning this thing off, do you have to disconnect the hose leading to the propane tank or is just turning it off fine? Also, is this thing capable of getting wet?
I would just get into the habit of turning off the supply at the propane tank. It hasnt had any issues in the rain.
You will have to find a way to lower it to feel the heat. I have a different model but I just basically removed part of the main pole , it made a HUGE difference. It actually works now 😂
That’s a brilliant idea. I just put it together. And after reading your comment, I realized I can literally cut it in half and lower it for when we’re sitting.
@@biged2193 glad it was helpful, randomly I helped a friend build a few of these before a backyard bbq a about a month ago. some were full size and some were shorter, everyone preferred the shorter ones.
@@EveryDayJay415how were you able to use just one pole to shorten it? I tried to use one pole but each end to each piece is needed for the other parts to attach to
Thanks so much...mine came with no instructions jajaja I really appreciate you.
Do you recommend a heater cover?
I havent had any issues leaving it out in the weather.
Thanks, just put one together and referred to the video a few times-very helpful.
Awesome! Glad it helped!
did the emitter screen melt yet?
so it sounds like a fire pit might be a better option to get heat to warm up? how do you like your patio sectional? holding up? would like to know if you have link to it if you like them. tks.
Love our sectional! We will probably be putting in a new deck and fire pit this spring. Keep an eye out for that video. It will be awesome :)
Right now Amazon got them for 98 shipped crazyy
Thank you so much
Any time
How do you replace the igniter? Mine pooped out.
Awesome, only had for 2 months. Took 20 minutes to assemble 😂😂
Why did the manufacturer have painted metal on the burn cage for it to burn off in the first few seconds of use. Looks terrible, I just got this heater I thought I did something wrong, nope, just made to look damaged from the start
Same mistake. Instructions aren't clear on that
Are you using a meat thermometer?
yes
Hardly makes a temp difference. Why bother?
That is what I thought, it does make it a bit more comfortable in more moderate evenings or mornings. I would say low 60's with maybe just a tiny breeze. Anything cooler or windier you cant tell its on.
Because this heater transfers heat through radiating infrared... Not by heating the air around you. The type of heater that warms up the air would be awful to use outdoors and your warm are would be blown away. Heaters that use the infrared are reflecting heat from the top hat down at your skin and clothes. Ever walk out on a cold cloudy day, but feel so much warmer when the clouds break and the suns light hits you? That's heat transfer through radiation in the infrared.
Heat rises so i imagine tons of heat is lost without reaching seated people.
I didn't know how would a meat thermometer can correctly measure ambient temperature
idk, seemed to be accurate to what the temperature was outside...
Is it normal that it sounds like a small hissing coming from the top. It's new and kinda freaked me out so I turned it off (I soap tested everything 😅
Ya, mine does that too. I think its just the flow of the propane through the diffuser.
I see u threw out that stupid wrench that is always supplied. Socket way to go 👍
good video BUT... you didn't turn it on.....
Huh? I did at the end of the video...
Titre et description en français.. vidéo en anglais 👎🤢🤮
What batteries do you need for this?!
Btw you need AAA! Make sure the positive side of the battery is outside
Lol I did that mistake with a fire place I posted on my RUclips only to realize that it was placed backwards
Did anyone respond to this? Which battery is used?
