    Ruyi cannot allow herself to cry. She must remain resolute in finishing the tasks she knows she must do. The Doc & Rongpei realize this so they shed the tears that Ruyi couldn’t. It really is true. Those that are good and kind hearted are taken advantage of by those that do not have good will or good intentions toward others.

    Poor Physician Jiang. He really didn't want to tell her, after all she was like a sister to him and Souxin. Rongpei especially looked upset, Ruyi was not just her master but her best friend in the world. I lost my granddad to TB and my Dad to brain cancer. I know this grief well, and this was completely believable. Especially for the time frame they were in, when there weren't many cures or treatments available. *sniff

• @martinemariemc
      @martinemariemc 2 года назад +6

      Because Wei Yinglou from Yanxi Palace is actually the more true person. If you watch I think the channel is called "Ancient Chinese History" she goes into great detail about some of these things. The Wei from Ruyi's Royal love in the palace is not actually based on anyone truly. But Wei Yinglou from Yanxi Palace is. Her child did become the next emperor and she did give him I think 4 boys and 2 girls, and she did die at around 40-45.

    Spoiler people, turn away! lol: So why was everyone (characters) saying that she refused treatment and that's why she died, when in fact she was at an incurable stage and they were just prolonging her life? Who lied saying she refused it?? Since that was the reason the emperor used for his actions afterwards. What happened after could have been avoided if that one lie hadn't been used.

    • @NoRevengeNeeded

      @@NoRevengeNeeded when she was first diagnosed, she didn't say she didn't want treatment. She asked how long could she expect to live because she was told it was too far advanced. The doctor said he could try to help her, but even he said (or inferred) that it would do no good except to prolong her life for 6 more months. And she said it was just enough time. I may have missed a few episodes afterwards where she may have refused her medicine at times, but it was medicine meant only to prolong her life, not to cure her, because he had knowledge on how to cure her.

      The reason is in this video Ruyi told the doctor not to let anyone know about her actual stage of illness and only tell everyone that she's ill because of sadness. Therefore everyone thought she wasn't gravely ill and only died because of refusing treatment. I think that's not a lie. It's Ruyi herself who wanted them to think so.

      @qingyizhu Год назад +9

      Ruyi lives in ancient China. The doctors'skills belong to ancient Traditional Chinese medicine. They usually study diseases by feeling the pulse, looking, smelling and inquiring. And tuberculosis was an incurable disease in ancient China.Before the middle of last century, there was no relevant anti tuberculosis drug treatment for pulmonary tuberculosis, so the mortality and disability rate were very high. In the 1960s and 1970s, anti tuberculosis drugs were gradually produced.The medical skill of jiang Yubin is excellent in imperial doctors, but after all, he is an ancient man and can't be cured as well as Ruyi. So this play doesn't deify him, it's just seeking truth from facts.

    • @ladylily
      @ladylily Год назад +1

      Your hate for China is showing. Ancient Chinese medicine introduced most of what is used today in some form or fashion, including clotting medicine that saves lives on a daily basis. I encourage you to research it through proper resources rather than creating your own theories. Also, as others have stated, TB is not nor has ever been a "common bacterial infection." It's still in modern times a difficult disease to treat. During the last century, it was still dangerous enough to fear death the moment of diagnosis.

    • @invinciblecucumber
      @invinciblecucumber Год назад

      @Lady Lily White You're so wrong, I love and appreciate how beautiful and refined ancient Chinese culture was, especially considering how all East Asian cultures are in some form derivative of Chinese philosophy and culture.
      I was actually talking about stupidity and nonsense of how Chinese traditional dr were shown in this kind of shows.
      Their explanations and diagnosis are so inaccurate, and their medication are very often poisonous and harmful for patients... but they are portrayed as some kind of mystical all-knowing miracle workers.
      Also, I know tuberculosis is not a child's game, but it should be nothing to this divine healers...
