As a father of a 2 year old... the Steam Deck saved my gaming. I am able to take care of my son while he is sleeping, sitting next to him with headphones. I can lie in bed next to him at night and play for an hour or two, while he is asleep. I can play when there is downtime and the second I am needed, because he is yelling outside he wants to show me XYZ, I can put the Steam Deck to sleep an be there for him. Now don't get me wrong I rarely do the last one, because I don't want to give him the impression he is less important than some plastic box etc. but when he was really occupied outside in the garden/playing in the sandbox, I sneaked in 15 minutes of casual Celeste gaming. The Steam Deck is not just a gaming PC. It's revolutionized gaming for me. Even more than the Switch did (and that one was a big jump up, too). Absolutely 👍 The graphics on the steam deck already look awesome, with sometimes just a few tweaks required. Getting the latest and most high performance gfx tech doesn't give as much of a visual or actual "smooth" performance boost like we'd like anyway nowadays, so it's kind of pointless, like an endless rat race.
@@captainjimo i'm not sure what it is, but 40 fps on the steam deck just feels so smooth. if i get 40 fps on a game on my pc it feels so jittery and weird, i wonder why that is
I can recommend playing first person games with the right trackpad being setup like a mouse. change the sensitivity settings until the edge-to-edge movement on the touchpad results in 45 degree movement, and then set trackball friction to high. This will make the trackpad incredibly precise when navigating the camera. and if you want to turn 180 degrees, you just flick from left to right. This is what I use, and I can't go back to using dual sticks in first person games anymore. This allows you to reach almost mouse level of precision with trackpad + gyro.
Yes, a lot of Deckers are waking up to the superior precision of Trackpad + Gyro. You just have to take some time to experiment with the settings and find what works for you. I actually like to crank up sensitivity so edge-to-edge horizontal swiping almost does a 360, but lower the Vertical Scale to around 40% and also increase Smoothing. Makes it work a lot like Flick Stick, where the trackpad can do instant but accurate turns while gyro takes care of fine aim. The benefits over Flick Stick are that it's more comfortable, intuitive, and it's easier to aim vertically or do small turns. The trackpad also works great for twin-stick shooters if you set it to Mouse Region mode, which lets you map the trackpad 1-to-1 with the screen. Because of the lower position of the trackpad, you might want to switch Primary Click/Fire to the left hand and/or one of the back buttons, so you don't have to stretch your right hand as much.
@@DoubleJumpPunch I woke up to this when I got a steam controller. I really love FPS gaming with the Trackpad + Gyro combo. It feels more engaging and immersive. My default calibration for controls is setting a full swipe of the Trackpad to 180 degrees and full comfortable Gyro range to be about 90 degrees. This give me twitchy-fast response with the Trackpad and precise fine aiming with the Gyro.
That was the whole reason I sold my ROG Ally! I just can't enjoy playing FPS games on a traditional controller setup. I'm hoping I can get used to the deck's trackpad+gyro when it ships.
You expressed exactly what the Steam Deck is: a solution to a problem. I was also in a gaming slump before getting the Deck, finding trouble in actually sitting down to play and also not wanting a Switch because of its numerous limitations and hand cramps. I knew that the Deck was exactly what I had always wanted as soon as they revealed it. If someone is already perfectly happy with their gaming setup and its place in their life, they may be disappointed with a Deck because they didn't have a problem to be solved.
To me the steam deck alows me to play games I couldn't before because I couldn't afford a gaming pc or a laptop strong enough for that and it is strong enough to stream/record so I plan on making the most of it
@coolcat9624 I have nothing against the rog ally, but it's not for most people. There are many inconvenient technical issues and the hardware is not as polished as the Steam Deck. The Ally is very much a "portable pc", for all the good and bad that comes with that. The Steam Deck is more akin to a game console with the usual artificial limitations removed. If someone is interested in pushing hardware to the max, regardless of the number off hoops you need to jump through, the Ally is a fine choice. If someone just wants to play games and doesn't want to spend a lot of time messing around with technical details, the Steam Deck is a better choice.
The separation between workspace and leisure space is quite important indeed. I also mix both spaces but try to get away from my desk when possible to play some video games or do whatever I feel like. It seems that Steam Deck is comfortable enough to play on the sofa or the bed without suffering from hand cramps (I'm looking at you, Switch).
If you are using the default Joycons for switch, I'd recommend looking into some aftermarket joycons. The HORI split pad pro or the NYXI Hyperion are both two good choices. (I prefer the Nyxi Hyperion personally)
I'm at my desk at home for work all day. It is soul crushing to try to remain at the desk for leisure time. Plus my GF and I put effort into furnishing our apartment and this gets utilized more with the steam deck.
yeah I have this issue too. I find it very distracting so I'm seriously considering selling my gaming pc and just moving to steam deck + dock setup. I don't really play AAA games anyway and I don't do heavy tasks like editing videos, mostly using the web, gaming or office suit work (mostly use Google docs anyway so)
@@finidischoonhoven8689 if I were you I would keep the PC and convert it into a home server. The hardware has value In other contexts such as setting up a NAS , Plex/jellyfin, pi hole etc. Of course that's just me I sold my gaming PC five years ago and wish I had the parts for a home server.
@@Joseph-yl6rc The point is, If i have to scrape together 700 bucks (I really want the etched display) plus a dock from scratch it'll take me a looooong time. Selling the pc basically reduces that by a pretty big chunk. if I had 700 bucks lying around I would've not sold the pc
Thinking of getting a steam deck and your point about using your desk for work and the guilt you feel whilst gaming at it really hit home. I've got a pc and switch but I wanna have that stress free play time away from my desk but still play all my games on steam. Perfect option for that ! Great video !
? Controls these days are wireless, just how bad is your set up that you can't play on your bed in your room? I wanna get a steam deck for times I'm in the woods, or in an airport, somewhere distant, can always play ps5 in my bed
@@brianleal87I don't have a Steam Deck but I use a telescopic controller with my Phone to play Xbox Series X remotely with XBXPlay app and I also have a big TV on my bedroom with an Nvidia Shield and a Bluetooth controller, but there is something special that make me prefer playing on my phone rather than on my TV, maybe the flexibility and comfort are better with the portable setup idk, and when I'm serious about something like playing a competitive game I prefer to use my desk setup with a big monitor, so given my great experience with phone+telescopic controller I'm seriously considering getting a Steam Deck
@@brianleal87my room is awkwardly shaped that my set up doesn't allow me to game while in bed at least not on a TV with, say a Dualsense controller. That's why I just use a gaming chair and call it a day. Having portable devices are phenomenal for times when you just wanna lie down.
@brianleal87 I've actually tried Steam Link for over a couple of years on different devices. It's okay for a while, but it's a bit clunky to deal with for any long length of time. Streaming introduces occasional artifacts like pixelation, weird colour issues, and latency problems. When I upgraded my router it was better, but it's never 100% fullproof. It also feels a waste of power to boot up a big beefy pc in another room merely just to stream it to a smartphone in a different room. So the Steam Deck feels like much better solution for sofa and bedroom gaming. It's portable and takes away the hassle of pc gaming. For once, the operating system doesn't seem to get in the way.
As a person who grew up playing alot of handhelds (gameboy, gameboy advance, gb advance sp, gb micro, psp and vita) and recently owned a switch since 2018, the steam deck still blows my mind. I can literally play some of my favorite games from my childhood, older games I never got a chance to play as well as newer triple A titles. Valve has literally made one the best handhelds period.
This is almost one of my last videos before I start to look how to buy a Steam Deck. This is because I live in South America and the only way to get one is expensive or complex, but I'm almost convinced that I would be satisfied when I get it. Your video is great, feels genuine and dynamic. Really like the small channel vive mixed with a guy that is comfortable talking to the camera.
As someone who is a Linux user who is also a gamer, I heard about this a few months after it came out and did my research and personally really liked it. Especially as u said with the portable aspect, I have autism and ADHD and can’t sit still to save my life and so as u said having that moving around change of scene ability helps a lot. I also really liked the little story of ur childhood with moving from house to house, stuff like that can be hard to talk about and I like the way you entwined your gaming experiences in with changing to different houses, so that I also appreciate a lot. (Small side note: love the random changes of positions in the video lol).
Also I heavily feel the pain of associating work with gaming in your house. I do work from home often which means an associate where I work with where I game 😭😭. So the steam deck and some other consoles in general seems like a good resolution to that.
Honestly it sounds like everything I need to finally play the games I've wanted to play for a long time. Unfortunately, it's worth like 5-6 months of paying rent, so my gaming career might have to wait. But I so get the guilty relaxing in your work space part. I need separate rooms for working and for doing anything else because otherwise I won't get anything done And it's great to see you punch the camera/viewers again! :))
@@cyphermain21 I think they were meaning in terms of just country, $320 or $399 or even $649 being nearly half a year of rent is outlandish in the USA lol
Good content, I immediately subbed. One thing I really appreciate is the amatuer quality of the video; not poorly done, just unconcerned with having a good backdrop full of RBG bullshit and gaming decor on unconventional shelving units.
thanks so much :) i am unabashedly amateur-- i think it's more endearing and more my style. (also i barely know how to record videos properly) upgrades to techniques and gear will probably come, but i still want to retain this general "style."
Your video has been eye-opening for me. I spent a f*cking fortune on a gaming PC and I can only think of maybe 10 games I've finished there in the past.. 7-8 years of building and owning multiple high-end PCs. My Deck has not only been where I do most of my gaming these days, despite having a 3080 and 5900X, but it scratches my tinkering itch. I never really thought about my desk being a "work" space or why I felt that guilt using my GAMING PC for.. gaming.. Handheld gaming has always been my thing, now I'm just waiting for a smaller Deck 2, lol.
I definitely feel you on the work desk after working from home. After working at my desk for 6-10hrs a day, I felt hella guilty playing games at my desk when I could be making money. Burned me off gaming for a bit. Its the exact reason why I'm looking into a steam deck haha
I am disabled and unable to use a mouse/keyboard now, my hand can't rotate. I was mainly looking for a way to get the cheapest laptop experience, I had no idea I'd be singing this things praises! Next time I'm in the hospital (was there for a total of 5 months last year) I'll actually have something to look forward to! .. now I just gotta get strong enough to hold it in my pos hands for more than 20 minutes.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to feel that sense of guilt when playing games on a PC. I bought an Xbox Series X to play modern titles away from my PC, but when I had the chance to buy a SteamDeck, I jumped. I absolutely love it. Also the ability to finally play Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart without the need to buy a PS5 (it's the only PS5 game I have interest in atm) is a godsend.
You so perfectly described my exact reasons to want (and to have now bought) a Steam Deck I have a gaming laptop which is in my room and I do a lot of writing and editing work on that and whenever I do actually sit down and play a game I feel this sense of guilt as if I should instead be writing or recording or editing and in the end I just end up doing nothing and going to sleep. I'm so excited for my deck to arrive because I know it'll change the way I game and work. It won't stop me from playing games on my actual laptop but it'll make that distinction much easier, and I need that.
What a super interesting and enjoyable video, your humor and personality is super special, the whole vibe of this video is fantastic! Keep being you, keep doing what you enjoy. I hope to see more videos from you! About anything at all! You're super enjoyable to listen to :D
I love your video format its so relaxed! Idk how you have so few subscribers. I did the same thing, sold my desktop for a steam deck and havent looked back
As a student who is starting his second year of UNI this year, I want to reinforce some discipline whilst also having a reward system for work I do; the steam does that wonderfully. I work at my desk or sometimes I will I work away from home, like on campus for example, and if I do enough work and feel satisfied, I reward myself by playing on my steam deck. I love it!
For a moment I thought this was an old Yong yeah video. Loved your video and appreciate you sharing your background. For me, I loved the switch but was quite disappointed in some of the performance on switch ports. Exclusives were great but I felt like if this was a power of maybe a console then it would be just fine. Sure enough we’re blessed with a steam deck years later. My love for gaming is once again reignited ❤
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Steam Deck. I'm in the same situation with work and gaming desk being the same thing. I really enjoyed watching the video.
Love the video and your personality, would definitely enjoy seeing more content come out but I would definitely pick a lane for sure. Weather it be video games, hardware, software, indoor entertainment etc whatever it is, you'll get a lot more out of this channel if you pick a specific lane and stay there. Cheers!
@1:36 you just got a like and a sub just for that from me bro! I TOTALLY get it! This is why I am tasting my Steam Deck even though it is not even here yet. As someone who works, plays and records music ALL on the same desk... that is the reason I started down the Steam Deck rabbit hole and this vid just settled all my reserves. Cheers fam!
I just ordered one with their 20th anniversary sale. I already ordered a case, a dock, a SD card, a charger, a good cable, some other things. I got all that now I'm just waiting for my steam deck. . .
Steam deck got me into pc gaming playing so many games natively and through emulation is so cool it’s like having all my current and past libraries available on the go.
Man you can tell the future! I bought my deck on Wednesday and I hope it arrives tomorrow. I randomly remembered how I played Metal Gear rising revengeance on PS3 and wondered "Can I play it on my deck?" so I looked it up and luckily it's verified. After all that I've been watching videos about the deck, videos like yours and I wanted to look for a video where I can see how Metal Gear runs on the deck. I nearly forgot about it and I just sit outside smoking a cigarette and your goofy ass just pulled out metal gear rising revengeance on your deck. I love it. Just because of this heavy rare coincidence I'll sub to your channel.
I love how slowly they coming up with ways to upgrade your deck to make it all around stronger. Now I'm just waiting for a release of a new apu to install for graphics upgrade.
I've owned an Ally and the Deck, and I can still safely say that the Steam Deck was the better buy for me. Other manufacturers can keep putting out more portable handhelds with better specs, but the deck just works because they really put in the time and the effort to make the software work. I had the Ally for two months and I had nothing but issues. Armoury Crate is a nightmare, and it doesn't even compare to Steam's Big Picture Mode integration on the deck, and just the QA issues that device has is crazy. The SD card is placed right next to one of the dual vents for its fans, and my SD card slot unit failed twice, and I wasn't even running heavy games that were installed on the that card. Also for the deck's price point, it really punches above its weight class for what it can do whether it's playing older games under lower wattage loads or even playing more demanding games, often times even better than the ally thanks to its OS. The customization options through Decky is really nice as well so you can really make it your own without too many compromises whatsoever. :)
As a college student right now, I totally understand the separation between work/academics and gaming. I had a PC at home where I "balanced" both but ever since I moved into my dorm my laptop became my 100% academic device. No games at all not even solitaire or minesweeper and it helped me a lot to focus on my work. However, I noticed that the itch to play every end of the month kept bugging me and I was even contemplating risking my laptop's health just so I could play a 20 fps game. Luckily, I saved up a ton of money and now I was contemplating on buying a steam deck, currently watching videos to see if it is worth it.
I'm finally able to play my favorite childhood game on the go (dungeon keeper 2) owing to steam deck trackpads and community layout. Big props to valve for this device
I just found this video by chance looking for steam deck videos while I wait for mine to arrive. This video started playing at random as the next video. I really thought this was Jeff Goldblum reviewing the system because you sound just like him.
Already had my Steam Deck for over a year and it works pretty well, Borderlands 2 is ancient and still filled with other players I can join up with on the Deck, Uncle Gabe and his team at Valve did a good job 👍
My buddy broke his leg like 6 months ago so I've been letting him borrow my deck until now but it's finally time to get it back from him and I'm so excited for it again
There are 2 things I love about the Deck that aren't available elsewhere One of them is the consistency of games working under Linux, a concept that's very surprising to me, a Linux gamer! Another is the trackpads, which, as the number 1 Stream Controller fan, was an awesome addition, and it came with even more things to do. The fact that Steam input went from the only way to customize the Steam controller, to a niche controller customizer, to a very well known and appreciated way to customize the Steam Deck input, alongside all the other 1st party controllers is one of the reasons I think Valve is evolving the PC gaming scene, AGAIN!
I finally pulled the trigger and bought a steamdeck that should arrive in a few days because I love pc gaming but being alone in the back room sometimes isn't what I want, now I can play on couch and spend time with my wife and son while one of them watches something on the big TV.
the Steamdeck is so expensive here in the Philippines, but im gonna hold off til Christmas hopefully ill manage to get good deal. Since Valve doesn't ship here sadly 😢 Also i like your voice, so cool ❤
3:21 This probably sounds really silly but one of the main reasons I chose the steam deck over other handheld PCs is because it didn't resemble the Switches joysticks. I found the format really fustrating
I'm nearsighted but love my games, i can't stand wearing glasses and i struggle to get contacts in, the steam deck allows me to play without any of those hurdles, plus i can be around my family a lot more, i don't have to stay in one place to play my games, the system is amazing.
You actually can do fairly solid livestreaming from the Steam Deck! Sadly it looks like you'll have to use Desktop Mode unless you want to go through a pretty tough process, but that's not stopped me from doing some nice handheld streams to Discord or even RUclips via OBS! I think I actually did both at once a week ago, hehe... Obviously streaming will consume some resources, but from my experience it doesn't cripple the Deck. You can still play a lot of stuff!
The Switch was the first time I realized I needed to be free of my desk. To play "console-quality" games on the go was a revelation, and I rebought many games on Switch just for portability. A handheld that could do all that but with my entire existing Steam library was a no-brainer. I just cannot game at my desk anymore. Especially with WFH, I spend all day at my desk working. If I spent all evening gaming there too, I'd literally never leave my room. Screw that. I have a PS5, Switch, Series X, and it's great I have games to play away from my desk. But the Steam Deck is the device that finally lets me be entirely desk-free when I want. And I love being able to play a game on Deck, then via Steam Cloud, just pick up on my PC and enjoy high framerates and ultrawide resolutions when I'm feeling that. It's just such a good companion device, and I can't wait to see what the next revision looks like. I'd love an OLED screen and more efficient hardware.
Coincidentally happened to watch this on my Steam Deck, which I use as a Linux tablet more. Great device to just pick up and use, even in this way after building duel trackpad typing muscle memory and making a decent desktop layout. I still game more at my full desktop setup, where I use the SD as a controller for games that play better this way. The trackpads, capacitive stick tops and back buttons get a lot of use, with flickstick input, using it sideways as a DS and generally additional inputs. Mine's a 256GB model from Q3, so early-ish, made the waitlist deposit about a week after this went live, it's case still has the white lifting strap. It's trackpad based trackball emulation also got me to try and later fully switch to trackballs, using a drawing tablet when I need high accuracy.
just put in an order for the big storage model with anti-glare screen, I don't want to be shackled to my desk to play games or left with nothing if I go on a trip. If the thing can play FF7R at 40 fps I don't really think i'd need anything more powerful for most of my gaming needs, and the fact you can get a scuffed version of WoW Classic to work on the thing is hilarious and I can't wait to try it out.
There’s something inexplicably comforting about playing games handheld. Maybe it stems from our magical younger game boy years. But after a long day at work sat in bed with a handheld, makes me feel like I’ve earned the relaxing moment. I can totally unwind and emerge myself. Something I do not feel sat at my PC, or even on a console to a large extent.
@sunfish 8:58 I am glad you mentioned the Trackpads because I was about to succumb to a fit of murderous rage if you neglected them! :D I love the Trackpad + Gyro on my steam controller for PC gaming, and thinking more of getting a Steam Deck as a Steam Controller 2.0 and supplemental PC/Gaming device. The Steam Controller forever transformed my Gaming and general PC experience. I'd love to see what would happen when I start tinkering with a Steam Deck!
Steam deck is my favorite portable computer. I bring mine with me almost everywhere. Regardless if I use it or not! Probably the best thing of being a 2000s baby is y’all didn’t know the struggle of gaming on a non-lit screen. 90s babies had to hope the Sun would be out by the time the bus pulled up so we could do some grinding on Pokémon. Good times! ….not! Wish we had the DS family growing up. Lol
I have a mid range gaming laptop for pretty casual gaming, I have an xbox series x for anything I want to play, and a switch for handheld so I can't find anything I would need a steam deck for but it looks awesome
But a switch can’t play the games the Xbox can. The Steam Deck can (aside from exclusives). If that’s doesn’t matter to you, then it’s probably not for you.
@@Mad-Lad-Chad that's what I'm saying. I have a switch for switch games or for games that work really well on it, I then use my xbox for all the beefy meaty games 😂 and my laptop typically for 2D indie games and games like Valorant
@@smash910 Sounds like a good setup. I have been debating getting a Steam Deck just to be my all in one portable. My Switch can't emulate well despite having CFW (it just isn't strong enough for the more taxing emulators) and I just don't find my laptop to be convenient enough for portable gaming.
I borrowed my lil bro's deck he doesn't use much, and now I really want one. It's been alot of fun learning the ins and outs. A great benefit I noticed is being weirdly excited for OS updates.
Buddy, really well done video. I just picked one of these up. Really looking forward to using it.
Holy crap you’re really good at this and natural in how you present information. Glad to be subbed before your channel blows up
thank you so much :)
Came for the Steam Deck, stayed for your amazing voice. You should have a dedicated podcast brother
thanks! not out of the question
The fuck?
Thinking of getting a steam deck and your point about using your desk for work and the guilt you feel whilst gaming at it really hit home.
I've got a pc and switch but I wanna have that stress free play time away from my desk but still play all my games on steam. Perfect option for that !
Great video !
I thought I didn't need a Steam Deck because I just play at home; why would I need a portable PC? Now I game on my bed almost every night.
@@brianleal87some people just don’t want to put a whole set up in your bedroom. Or play remotely on your phone.
You gotta bright future man. Nice to get a review not bloated with charts and graphs. Just simple information about a casual experience.
New sub!
Honestly it sounds like everything I need to finally play the games I've wanted to play for a long time. Unfortunately, it's worth like 5-6 months of paying rent, so my gaming career might have to wait.
But I so get the guilty relaxing in your work space part. I need separate rooms for working and for doing anything else because otherwise I won't get anything done
And it's great to see you punch the camera/viewers again! :))
hey, you come first! games can wait.
You can get a steam deck for 320$ now, where do you live?
@@JDabz96 xddddddddddddd
@@cyphermain21 I think they were meaning in terms of just country, $320 or $399 or even $649 being nearly half a year of rent is outlandish in the USA lol
@@PercyPanleo XDDDD yeah 6 months of rent is brutal
Love your perspective on portable gaming and now I’m considering purchasing a steam deck🙃
This is the exact type of review I was looking for thank you
I am disabled and unable to use a mouse/keyboard now, my hand can't rotate.
You so perfectly described my exact reasons to want (and to have now bought) a Steam Deck
I have a gaming laptop which is in my room and I do a lot of writing and editing work on that and whenever I do actually sit down and play a game I feel this sense of guilt as if I should instead be writing or recording or editing and in the end I just end up doing nothing and going to sleep. I'm so excited for my deck to arrive because I know it'll change the way I game and work. It won't stop me from playing games on my actual laptop but it'll make that distinction much easier, and I need that.
Your enjoyable to watch mate. I think you have genuine funniness!
What a super interesting and enjoyable video, your humor and personality is super special, the whole vibe of this video is fantastic! Keep being you, keep doing what you enjoy. I hope to see more videos from you! About anything at all! You're super enjoyable to listen to :D
hey, thank you so much!
I love your video format its so relaxed! Idk how you have so few subscribers. I did the same thing, sold my desktop for a steam deck and havent looked back
thanks so much :)
great quality and edited video, i hope your channel does well!
thank you :)
I couldn't agree more. I haven't been a handheld gamer since the first Game Boy, but the Steam Deck has changed that for me. Great video dude!
thank you!
Refreshing to see decent video editing with normal work area backdrop.
Gotta get a sick skin or case for it.
thanks!
honestly, i'm pretty fine with the colour/feel. plus, skins kinda look like a nightmare to apply
I love it!
Clicked for the Steam Deck, subscribed for the dry wit and the great information!
thanks! and welcome
Thinking about getting a steam deck myself and this video has helped me understand more about it, I definitely wanna get one
I really enjoyed watching the video.
thank you!
You have a great voice and I like the way you talk. Subbed.
awesome, thanks! :)
Cheers fam!
Thank you for your take on the steamdeck I have been on the fence, but really wanting one for similar reasons that you mentioned.
Nice video man and you're very calm. Appreciated that. Subscribed :)
I just ordered one with their 20th anniversary sale. I already ordered a case, a dock, a SD card, a charger, a good cable, some other things. I got all that now I'm just waiting for my steam deck. . .
Great video! Your good at this! Keep doing it! Simple!
thanks a bunch!
the swaying monitor on the left in the intro is driving me nuts, lol. otherwise great video!
Great video, watching you teleport around the house was shockingly entertaining too for some reason too.
hah, thanks!
Steam deck got me into pc gaming playing so many games natively and through emulation is so cool it’s like having all my current and past libraries available on the go.
great video dude. psyched to see what you do next
thank you!
This is literally no joke. Either God does exist and here's the proof or it's the most incredible coincidence in my life so far.
hah! that's amazing. glad i could deliver :)
@@dtwebpage Bro you killed it. U now have a German fan😂👍
I love my Steam Deck! Cannot wait for 2024 and if they upgrade again I'm getting it.
I’ve been heavily looking into reviews and researching the steam deck the last 3 days…I’m buying one.
I love how slowly they coming up with ways to upgrade your deck to make it all around stronger. Now I'm just waiting for a release of a new apu to install for graphics upgrade.
You're likely half my age and were born after Wave race came out but props to you for using fourth place theme on the video. You've got a new sub.
my dad had a nintendo 64, so i did get to play it a bit :)
Don’t take this the wrong way, but you have a surprisingly deep and soothing voice that was unexpected from looking at you. Very nice 👍
There are 2 things I love about the Deck that aren't available elsewhere
One of them is the consistency of games working under Linux, a concept that's very surprising to me, a Linux gamer!
Another is the trackpads, which, as the number 1 Stream Controller fan, was an awesome addition, and it came with even more things to do. The fact that Steam input went from the only way to customize the Steam controller, to a niche controller customizer, to a very well known and appreciated way to customize the Steam Deck input, alongside all the other 1st party controllers is one of the reasons I think Valve is evolving the PC gaming scene, AGAIN!
steam input is sooo good
Yo the separate parents houses and how that affects my need for portability is a deep cut
I like this channel, very good video!
thanks!
Since Valve doesn't ship here sadly 😢
Also i like your voice, so cool ❤
3:21 This probably sounds really silly but one of the main reasons I chose the steam deck over other handheld PCs is because it didn't resemble the Switches joysticks. I found the format really fustrating
Hello Mr Dylan, sir. Congratulations on Loving your Steam Deck. 🦞
My favorite part is the instant library and no windows notifications.
Great work on videos
This video could not have anymore been me! Now im sold. Im getting one now! lmao. Btw I love ur video! New sub here!
thanks, and welcome :)
Same here bro. After sitting at my work desk for 8 hrs a day I don’t feel like sitting another 2-3 hrs playing games there.
Keep making video.
will do!
Didn't know that Yongyea's younger brother started a RUclips channel 😂
Hearing that MGS2 ost takes me back
Love my steam deck was late to the party but love it now
The Switch was the first time I realized I needed to be free of my desk.
I'd love an OLED screen and more efficient hardware.
bro your voice is amazing you should do voice overs or cartoons
i do when i get the chance!
Awesome work, my man
Coincidentally happened to watch this on my Steam Deck, which I use as a Linux tablet more.
It's trackpad based trackball emulation also got me to try and later fully switch to trackballs, using a drawing tablet when I need high accuracy.
hey, i use it as a tablet too!
i'm still kinda bad at trackpad typing, but i imagine you get pretty fast
@@dtwebpage absolutely, it helps to enable and use trigger clicks to keep more control with the thumbs.

just put in an order for the big storage model with anti-glare screen, I don't want to be shackled to my desk to play games or left with nothing if I go on a trip. If the thing can play FF7R at 40 fps I don't really think i'd need anything more powerful for most of my gaming needs, and the fact you can get a scuffed version of WoW Classic to work on the thing is hilarious and I can't wait to try it out.

Agree completely, have thought these things myself.
I do wish it was a tad more powerful. But I pretty much only use it for emulation and pre-2017 games. All-in-all, I love the thing.
So true! Everyone who sees it says its big and bulky.. until they actually hold it! It feels so good in hand

I'd love to see what would happen when I start tinkering with a Steam Deck!
i _did_ neglect the gyro, which i use more!
Dang pretty deep voice
Sometimes you get like a 5% performance boost from updating, (whereas Windows updates are the total opposite haha).
I love my Steam Deck! I use it mostly on the go all the time!
Saw your face in the thumbnail. Then I clicked and heard your voice. Doesn't match at all 😂 great video.
Wasn't even considering this until starting a family. Instead of being hunched over a computer desk or hogging the TV, I can sit on the couch and play. Quick resume is fantastic.
