With this glitch yes death is still waiting for you, same in the PS1 version for some glitches. However, at least in the PS1 version if you enter the death room falling from the top (probably same if entering from the right since you already glitch death out of the room when entering from the top portion) before entering from the left door it will bypass death.
You need to get 40 hearts on the intro Dracula fight. Kill him without getting hit, and finish with 0 hearts. This starts you out with a neuron bomb and a heart refresh in your inventory. You then need to go far enough in the castle for it to "wake up" This spawns the infinite zombies that you can reliably get to near-level-up experience value with. Go back to entrance, equip neutron bomb and heart refresh in both hand slots, and jump over warg when he dashes at you. You want the screen to scroll a bit to the left (but not too far left) Finally, back dash, press neutron bomb to kill the warg, and spam heart refresh. This is called a shift line glitch. Essentially, the level up animation and heart refresh animation cause the game to lag while you are scrolling right with your back dash. It opens up a small gap at the edge of the screen that you can carefully fall into. There are other examples of this glitch in other videos. Just hold left until you land.
