Upon inspection, it appears that this video has many similarities to PokeHedgehog321's mashup of Bury The Light and Devil Trigger! While I did mainly take inspiration from Avulian and Go Short Animations I didn't notice that Poke's video was so similar. I will link the video I am talking about here: ruclips.net/video/G5ALWJrTpgk/видео.html There are some nuances between mine and his video, some examples being: 1) While Poke chose to replace the verses' vocals with the vocals from Devil Trigger, I chose to keep the vocals and place the vocals in sections where I felt it was empty, for example, the instrumentals before the first chorus. Another example is in the bridge, where Poke used Shall Never Surrender to replace the vocals before "Beyond the tree." 2) Another difference I observed was that Poke overlapped the vocals for Devil Trigger and Bury the Light in the chorus whereas I did not. In hindsight, these two videos very well highlight the thoughts of both Nero and Vergil from two different people. In Poke's video, it shows that Nero is of equal power/destructive force as his father. In this video, it shows the initial assertiveness and power Vergil holds over Nero, being his kid and all, only for the son to overpower him at the climax of the song. The second the Devil Trigger vocals explode in the final chorus, you know that Nero has rivalled, perhaps exceeded, the power that his father possesses thanks to the newfound power of his Devil Trigger. The quiet vocals of Bury the Light near the song's end illustrate his likeness to his father, and how his legacy lives on in Nero. I don't mean to compare his and mine to say which one is better because I absolutely love the coincidental contrast between these two songs, and in writing this, I hope you guys also see and enjoy it, too. :)
While i like PokeHedgehogs version, I prefer not having the vocals overlap each other. Though I wish there was a version of this one without devils never cry at 6:39. Wink wink hint hint ;o Kinda feels out of place because it very loosely harmonizes, not that I can't see what you were going for. Maybe tweaking some effects on it could fix that but if it were me I'd just straight up take it out. My little brother is a big nero fan and I wanted to whip this out on him at some point during one of our gaming nights.
@@Darkseany I understand your concern. I don't like having vocals overlap either, but I can tolerate it being "hidden" in the track, which is what I ended up doing. You don't like it because of my insufficient skill at effects, that's okay! Would love to hear your brother's thoughts.
Dude, I (A Vergil main) showed my brother (a nero main) just the final chorus without showing the title and called it "Bury the light, but with a twist" and he deadass screamed and fell backwards to the ground when he heard the devil trigger vocals it was so powerful.
god the part starting with "Embrace the darkness that's within me" in the final chorus IS SO GOOD considering nero and vergil's themes have the same leitmotif during that part
Yea bury the light has leitmotifs for multiple songs devil trigger being obvious when you listen to the guitar solo, the bridge being devils never cry, and the intro of the song having a bit of nelo angelos theme. Really goes to show how much vergil values family and himself. He even mentions his griffon, shadow, and nightmare in the line "lost shadows left behind" bury the light is the best song ever no other song competes with it.
@@yahohole5499it likely is things like this are no coincidences in the music industry if you are the same guy and work on multiple songs it just perfectly goes to reflect on them being family father and son
I'd like to believe this is the theme for a older and wiser Nero. Edit: Also it would have been much more cooler if this played during the final fight with Vergil and Nero.
it would, but bury the light wasn't invented at the time if it were, Capcom would have in the Vergil dlc, Vergil has like, 2-3 cutscenes. bury the light plays in some form in all of them.
@@vintdime No it doesn't, not exactly. The only time people can actually play with each other is in M12, I believe. "Three Warriors." Most of the time they'll just be playing in their respective missions with no way to get to them.
@@vintdime I personally wouldn't say it's official co-op since it wasn't made by the official developers, but if you want to include the co-op trainer then sure, I'll agree with your point!
The "Pulling Shots, Aimin Dots, Yeah I DON'T MISS! Branded by fire, BORN IN THE ABYSS! Red Hot Temper I just can't resist, All. This~ VENGEANCE INSIDE ME!"🎵 part with the Chorus strings of Bury The Light was earGASMIC!
Dude i was like "where is the bury the light part" i realized where it was as soon as it started playing and, no joke as soons as it started, i immediately got goosebumps and shivers
Something I noticed about both songs is there's a specific parallel I didn't connect right away. In Devil Trigger, one of the lines is "This storm swelling inside me" and Bury the Light, one of the lyrics is "I am the storm that is approaching." Once again, like father, like son.
The devils never cry inclusions in the bridge sounds awful in my opinion. It's like a child locked inside of a wardrobe is trying to sing with the chorus but it also wants to sing something else and just ends up ruining everything. Tho the bridge part clearly was made with heavy inspiration from devils never cry it just doesn't sound good when put together. It's also impressive how after that horrible mashup between DNC and BTL you managed to create the most godly, elevating, delightful mashup between Devil Trigger and Bury The Light at 7:31. Since the 3rd act of the song was made with Devil Trigger in mind it just ends up sounding incredible, my only nit-pick is that you didn't include the "Embrace the darkness that's within me [...]" part when it's what the final chorus was mirroring in BTL the most. The final part of your mashup is just incredible.
Your displeasure of the Devils Never Cry inclusion in the bridge is understandable, and frankly, agreeable. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't placed it there in an attempt to give the bridge more content, it was perfectly fine the way it was. If I were to remake this song a third time, I would most definitely remove the DNC section and add the "Embrace the Darkness" lines rather than "When the Night Ends."
POV: You're arguing with your dad, he leads the argument. But then, your drunk as fuck uncle says something that somehow gives you enough motivation to arguing louder and break your dad guard down! Vergil: I refuse to let you just become just like Dante! Go back study to find a better job! I'll pay for it! Nero: Pay for my child support already!
This isn’t an improvement as much as it is a mashup. Both songs are great. But this is the kind of mix that DMC6 needs, especially if they implement coop.
This was a altered version of the original mashup I did. The reason it says "improved" is because the original mashup I did was really bad. If you feel you have a better title for the video then you can go ahead and give me your thoughts. :)
