  • I tried a Sadya, one of the best meals to get in Kerala. Sadya is a feast of Kerala origin and of importance to all Malayalis, consisting of a variety of traditional vegetarian dishes usually served on a banana leaf in Kerala as lunch. Sadya means banquet in Malayalam. I enjoyed the dish overlooking the backwaters of Kerala.

Kerala is the birthplace of martial arts. it is where the mother of all martial arts kalaripayattu was born. It's gaining in popularity because it uniquely combines defence techniques, dance, yoga and healing systems. various places in Kerala martial art is performed on stage you should see it's excellent. lots of people still think that martial art was invented in China. actually one Indian monk who brought Buddhism to China practiced kalaripayattu and he taught some of it's practice to his disciples in china.

99% of the times people won't have any objection eating with spoon/fork but meals like this are supposed to be eaten with hands, that's when you are able to get those all the flavours! ♥ From Karnataka 🇮🇳

Yum Yum Yum! I'd just get in there and mix it all up and eat by my right hand and all the flavours come together beautifully. After 5 years of eating Indian food by hand I found it hard to adapt back in NZ using a knife and fork........I had forgotten how and the cutlery spoiled the taste of the food.

The mango that you ate along with chilly and salt is actually a raw mango. It's not ripe. Raw mangos are used to add a tangy taste to any dish. Some people like to eat along with chilly and salt.

Thank you for visiting my hometown, I am so happy 😍🤤🤤. I drooled all over the place seeing Pearl spot pwolichathu, that's my favourite when I go to Kerala. The hosts were really nice and polite to explain in a detailed way all the dishes so you are aware of what is being eaten. Alappuzha boat house is the best to relax and have a nice picnic. You missed out drinking local alcohol here that's made with coconut flower known as kallu or toddy. You also missed out trying local dessert usually served in Sadhya meals - The 3 variety Payasam - milk based/coconut & jaggery based. Wonderful video Harry 😍😍💓💓

Bro.. that mango dipped in chilli and salt gives nostalgia to entire keralites. ♥️ That's what most of us loved in our young age to eat along with our friends.

Actually Sire, Sri Lankan, Kerala & Tamil Nadu are similar people with almost identical cultures & norms. You get a mix of both Kerala & Tamil Nadu in Sri Lanka.
