The guy in Tea estate was lying about the daily wage for tea puckers. Tamil tea pickers is getting less than 1000 rupees. You should go and explore north and east independently with out any guide in to rural area then you will find real behavior of Sinhala government and see how they treat and development of Tamils.

Harry, Local here, and those prices on the pricetags are legit and that's exactly what a local would also pay. Tampering with pricetags to sell marked up items in any way is super illegal.
