I asked the gyn to test for hormonal levels. She offered me birth control and got upset when I questioned her about my symptoms. They had no idea what I needed and they don't listen. They're only interested in office volume not value.

I am 70 years old feel like crap everyday. I had a complete hysterectomy at 49 and a gallbladder removed as well. No doctor ever checked my hormones or anything they always brush me off if I complain about a symptom. Sometimes Iso fed up with doctors . I am a very active person exercising and running marathon race still. But I have a hard time recovering aches and pain all over my body. I feel afraid and anxious! Why does doctors think that we older folks don't need to get the best care ever? I am sick of all these stupid docs who only have book sense but no common sense.

Yes! Great info here. Years ago, with all the talk about estrogen supplements during menopause, I started to wonder why every woman in my family going back to my great grandmother got huge breasts during menopause. We are all estrogen dominant and have that issue anyway. But during and after menopause, well it was obvious, and this is an estrogen trait. Then, I discovered the science of hormone balances. Studied it a little. Then, I rubbed a little progesterone cream on and immediately felt so content and slept very well that night. After a few weeks, the effects wore off and I found I had to cycle it. Weight lifting helped tremendously - muscle secretes testosterone, another 'antidote' to estrogen. After I went keto, I no longer have the issues of too much estrogen. Turns out insulin is linked to estrogen. I always had too much insulin as well and would suffer from hypoglycemia when I was younger. Keto reduces insulin and seems to do the same to estrogen. Yeah.

I love this video! My endocrinologist’s diagnosis for me was sooo perfunctory, average, she didn’t listen. I find you and your plethora of knowledge so incredibly on point and and actually offers us a way to test our hormones, adrenals, cortisol and more. Every doctor I’ve seen looks at my lab results or my list of symptoms myopically. Never do they address the complete axis of women’s hormonal balance is crucial because it is a cascade effect, good and bad.
I’ve been looking for answers for 15 years. I am so blessed to accidentally come across this video!
Thank you 💝 for delving into a deeper understanding of the full circle of female hormones, and then freely sharing your knowledge with us🙏
    Very sincerely,
    Colleen

They have been saying that about progesterone cream for years, but I believe it’s really iodine that most people are lacking. I am older than you and none of the naturopaths could help me. In fact, most try to put me on natural (pig) thyroid meds, which actually made my thyroid ache! After giving up gluten, coffee and tea (even green tea) and taking iron, and taking iodine, I am finally well. Everyone should read about the thyroid and iodine. Most of us don’t get enough in our diets.

CAUTION - if you have the autoimmune thyroid HASHIMOTO's be careful with takng iodine. Read up on it. I have Hashi's and sometimes NEED toa take iodine to help with my fibrocystic breasts. When I do that, the next coupld of days are as if I'm on too low a dose and my hypo thyroid symptoms come back. Better I think if you can get it through diet rather than supplements.

Leslie Molengraaf thank you. I am so in the weeds with the practice and an insane production schedule I am curious about what you are seeing within the natural RUclips world.
It’s beyond frustrating. My 300+ videos up to June 2019 were being recommended and well viewed. Then it all stopped. And it’s still a flatline.
Lots of hard work and always enjoy learning from content consumers.

      @StitchingWithLove 4 года назад +5

Many doctors are being shadow banned like you. I follow several functional medicine practitioners & chiropractors who work hard on their content and they’re all voicing their frustrations. I’m in Canada and our holistic healers are targeted too. One doc felt he’d go back to pre-social media days and use video embedded blogs and email to communicate; others have mentioned abandoning RUclips and switching to DLive or BitChute. I guess this is our future: fighting for free speech and the right to choose real health over the opposite to that.

I used to use Source Naturals and wondered if it's a good product or not. I'm 68 and stopped using progesterone a few years ago because I thought there were no benefits to using them at my age. However I do wake up in the middle of the night and find it nearly impossible to go back to sleep. It happened again this morning. I have belly fat I can't seem to get rid of (20 lbs overweight). I use Vagifem suppositories twice a week for dryness and that works very well.

Hormone imbalance is the reason why so many women experience anxiety and depression during menopause. Yet most doctors just prescribed antidepressants and anti anxiety meds without considering balancing the hormones. It’s so sad that so many women both young and older suffer with hormone imbalances. I am thankful that I have found a great doctor that has helped me to balance my hormones, but I found him because I educated myself and I was determined to find alternative treatment.

In Oct I had a stint put in my heart then shortly after I developed a hematoma which then ruptured it was a nightmare as I was bleeding out at home. After over 2 weeks in hospital I was finally able to go home. I have hypothyroidism & fibromyalgia so I’m use to my body doing all sorts of unusual things but it has been awful the past 2 months, my hair has been coming out by the handfuls , can’t sleep so emotional & worried I won’t get back to some kind of normal. My dr gave me a B12 shot increased my lyreca plus added something more to my thyroid. . Now I’m having a rosacea flair up but what you are saying is so on point I’m sure my progesterone is non existent & I really need to have this checked. To top this all off I have put 30 lbs on over the last 4-5 months. I’m 62 & had a hysterectomy at 25 I was left one ovary. I’m excited to see if this cream will give me some relief, I’m young at heart & mind just need my body to catch up 😌

I have leveled out about 80%. Although, I'm still having some symptoms. Pretty much all of what she described. Feeling sick and having no energy is even more exhausting. So definitely get retested. Unfortunately, it took me 3 separate trips to the doctor and multiple blood tests before they finally said let's try this.

Cari G no cause too much of a hormone can cause problems that’s why you must get your hormones checked. Saliva and urine hormone tests are more accurate than blood tests. It’s finding a doctor who will want to test your hormones is the most challenging, especially in my city. But my sleep doctor ordered my female hormones saliva test cause no other doctor I saw would. I had to wait months to finally test them. American doctors can be cruel. Only want to throw drugs at you to get you out the door fast to move on to the next body for sale.

What should I do if my OBGYN refuses to test my hormone levels? I have PCOS and am really struggling to find balance and I feel like part of it is because I don’t even know where to start. It’s shameful, negligent and should be malpractice that a doc who specializes in female reproduction refuses to test. It’s insane. Who knows why. Instance? Time to rebook/review results? They are more surgical focused? Fire them and hire one who will. Look for a DO or nurse practitioner sometimes you get more with them.

    • @youaremysunshine444

After going through many doctors and months, it was my sleep doctor that finally ordered my reproductive hormone test. I did a saliva test cause it’s more accurate than blood. A urine hormone test is also more accurate than blood tests. You’re going to want to check your reproductive hormones when your progesterone may be the highest in your cycle. So if you have a 28 day cycle, your going to test your hormones on day 21 when progesterone should be the highest. Ovulation usually occurs on day 14, but not all periods are a perfect 28 day one. Sometimes you can ovulate on day 10 and not have your period till day 31. But those are still considered normal periods. It’s just one phase is longer than the other. But some hormones could still be imbalanced causing problems. There’s test you can buy online or at the store to see when you’re ovulating. Just really pay attention to your body and whole menstrual cycle. Record things down and when they happen, so you can notice patterns of when you feel certain symptoms. Educate yourself on estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and cortisol. Each are released at different times of the day and month. Cholesterol also plays a huge role in progesterone production. Stay away from refined processed sugar and processed carbohydrates. They feed estrogen. I took a one day saliva hormone test from Genova Diagnostics. Waiting for the results to come in. But if sleep irregularities are one of your symptoms or you have trouble sleeping around your period, tell the sleep doctor and maybe they’ll check hormones. If not a sleep doctor, try a holistic doctor because other doctors will usually just throw drugs at you and dismiss any other option, which is cruel and inhumane.
