Meanwhile, the humble SNK8xx with its unassuming bead blasted case design begs for different dials. I’ve done a couple simple mods and my hat’s off to you. They aren’t easy to film, and I fully understand why you’d want to perform a task offline and then turn the camera back on for the “summary” of it.

That is skill. I wouldn't attempt to do this with that kind of mechanism. Last time I took apart my watch that was my g shock gg1000 mudmaster. You sir have skill.
The modification I did to my SNK805 was to replace the 7S26 movement with a Seiko NH36A movement. This movement change will give the SNK805 the hand wind and hacking feature.
I really want to do this mod to my SNK809. How difficult was it to replace the 7s26 movement with the NH36A movement? And do you have any specific instructions on how to do this? I would greatly appreciate it! I've already had the dial swapped out for a no-date dial, so I'm wondering if this will make it easier to do the NH36A movement swap?
@@ItsNeverTooHot4LeatherYou will need to use the day and date rings of the 7S26 on the NH36A movement. But since you are using a non day date dial it won't make any difference. Other than that it's a pretty straight forward switch.

Did you ever get around to trying? I polished my SNK809 and changed out the scratched 2016 mineral crystal to a Domed red AR crystal recently. I really wanna to install new hands. I like the face in this video, but may just do the hands when I gey then chance.

Polish the bezel to make it just like the Rolex Explorer. I do still love the "b" dial. Thanks.
Polishing will make the bezel show scratches a lot easier so I prefer the beadblasted look
