The beauty of all of that musical theater training! For musicals/Broadway you've got to be able to sing in all different positions, moving around... all sounding as uniformly clear as possible - he got that down!

Austin just makes it look so easy, and on top of that he's a super nice dude ! He's just down home folks. His daddy was a singer in a Southern Gospel Quartet, that traveled around singing in Churches (mostly Baptist) around the South. Austin would travel with them during the Summer when he was out of school, and that's where he learned to sing in front of folks. You should watch his "Home away from Home" profile video on Home Free's channel. Austin was born & raised in Tifton, Ga and went to college there in Tifton at the satelite branch of the University of Georgia, and was a musical theater major. His college professors tried to get him to pursue an operatic career. Seriously react to that hometown video of Austin, it's real good.

However, you suggested that he was able to sing this song so well because it was in "his key". Might I suggest that you listen to him sing "At Last" by Etta James. He sings it in "her key", and it is just as stunning.
Actually he attended Oklahoma City University on a full schloarship and majored in musical theater. There are several videos here on YT of Austin and 2 of his clasmates performing at the college.

I was resistant, even as a Homefrie's fan to listening to this because the Righteous Brothers rendition was so perfect. This is, of course, perfect too. Your reaction to this was one of the best you have done. You recognized the choices Austin made in this version and that's very good. My family are all musicians and the most intensive work is that process of choices. Please listen to the Disturbed version of Sound of Silence both the live and the official video to get a damn LESSON in choices. I have subscribed to you now and look forward to more reactions.

When Austin took the lead in When A Man Loves A Woman with Home Free, I melted. I mean, when he looked directly into the camera and ... what is this I'm feeling? Look away! Look away! LOL! Unchained Melody is another iconic song, and Austin crushed it.

Great reaction! Yes, Austin seems so relaxed while singing this - I heard him say he was a little surprised that this song was so popular (6m+ views right now), he is so humble and nice. You can hear the power in his voice even when he is sitting by the fireplace singing a ballad! I enjoyed you pointing out the nuances that he added to this song that we all appreciate! His cover of Neon Moon is also one of my favs!

Austin is CRAZY with that voice, and he's also a genuinely soulful and warm personality. Pick any of his covers and you'll be blown away, but I do recommend Ain't No Sunshine, and make sure to listen to the message at the end, At Last (in the same key as Etta James herself, yeah he is that crazy), and my personal favourite (although they all are) Neon Moon. And then we have his originals, yep he writes songs too, starting with Earn It and onwards. You just can't go wrong, my personal favourite is If I Met You Now (a soulful ballad) and the latest is Real Talk. Just pick one, or twenty or all of them to react to! Great reaction! Thank you! 🙏🥰

He just sang this song so effortlessly!! He sent Maggie Renee a message on her channel, you should get him to send you one! Brad, another reactor sang with Austin while Brad was home and Austin at his house. It was beautiful! They talked to each other that’s how I know Brad wasn’t just singing along with Austin! All them beautiful sceneries are at his house, even when he sang Tears in Heaven at nighttime. The beautiful pond behind him and you could see his house! YEAH Austin can sing... he's got the golden touch.. I mean like an Orbis or an Elvis.. or a Motown voice he's got "it" ... blessed really .. and the basses like Tim and Geoff also blessed but down low!
