Thank you so much for watching yall. This is a special one for me, and Seby really outdid himself with the production on this one. I hope yall enjoyed it!
Yes, we all enjoy your voice.✌🙏🦢
Could you please consider doing a cover on a George Michael song - "Kissing a foul". That could suit your voice.✌🙏🦢
'Danny Boy', is our family anthem. At least as I remember our family celebrations ended with my father, sadly singing in his beautiful opera voice, " Oh, Danny Boy...". I loved when my macho old Dad sang this tune with such emotion. I cried.
My 9% Irish and 44% Scottish heart is smiling.
Beautifully done. Goose bumps the entire song. Thank you
''By the music that a man loves, one can tell the very texture of his soul.''
I love this quote Barbara! Where is it from?
@@jlpeters8260 I wish I knew.
When in my twenties, [much much older now] my best friend said it to me.
Right or wrong I do judge peoples souls by their music tastes and I am more right than wrong.
About 12 years ago a certain singer Charlie Landsborough with one song in particular ''Like Rain'' had a sacred inner sanctum effect , it was an epiphany .Since then certain voices and tones have a profound effect on me and it goes without saying meaningful lyrics .
'' Music should go right through you, leave some of it inside you, and take some of you when it leaves.''
@@barbaraharris7004 listening to him sing Like Rain now … ❤️💕 …. ‘Thank you’ is inadequate for such a lovely gift!
@@babzee7111 I am so pleased you listened to Like Rain.
That song and his beautiful voice resonated in me and changed me deeply .I know music and tones can have that effect
I have all his cd's. all the ones that are self penned.
So many beautiful songs he has written 'I Cried' is another amazing song and it will make you cry.
I am as impressed with Sebastian's accompaniment as I am Austin's singing. His sensitivity to every vocal nuance makes his playing fit like a glove. Simple beautiful, both of you!
Am almost 77 y.o., but enjoy singing, mostly to myself nowadays!! lol. Enjoy so much Austin's version of one of my favorite songs to sing, I love to practice along with Austin (Sorry Austin!! You sound so much better than me!!). Back in my younger years, was priviledged to sing with several professional choirs, and have performed many solos, primarily sacred and classical. Loved listening to you both, and of course to Home Free (yes, I'm a "Home Fry")!! Keeps my soul so happy! Love from an oldster!!
Perfect.
Absolutely! Sebastian's piano artistry is just absolutely AMAZING!
Thank you for singing O Danny Boy. It was my Father's favourite. I am 83, my father died many years ago but I often miss him. This Song reminds me of my childhood.
My Mother en Father loved to sing these old songs at Eventide. She could play the piano as well as the Church's Organ. Beautiful memories! Bless you for singing it again.
Me too, my friend. Me too.
I haven't seen this yet, i just know it's going to be fantastic. I can't wait to watch it. Austin your voice is amazing mate.
EDIT: I've now watched it and it's better than I could have imagined.
You will love it. One of the best things he has ever done.
It was amazing
You will love it
You'll love it patrol and if you're doing a reaction to it I can't wait to see it 🙂🙂🙂
You have to watch and react to it IMMEDIATELY. I'M NOT BEING MELODRAMATIC. Even better than Bring Him Home. I'm freaking out here. I paused after first line to post a comment to Austin. I just had to. I hope this ends up on radio. I'll be hauntung your site till you post your reaction.
That was amazing! So many sound like they are singing a love song- but you sounded more like a father saying goodbye to a son lost to war, which is what the song is really about. The pianist hit it just right- accenting the voice and not overpowering- a lovely collaboration. Thank you!
I thought this as well. He touched on the real meaning of this song a father's goodbye song to his son. 😢
Spot on!
I Agree 👍
None of us Irish can keep a dry eye when we hear this...we lost our Granda Dan Maloney 30 years ago so of course this song always personally gets to us. To take on such a song and do it brilliantly is just magic, young man.
Thank you for doing it perfect justice ♥ 🍀 🍀
wow. that was beautiful, probably the best version of the song i have ever heard. I'm a bitter old man of 77, now with tears in my eyes.
My Irish heart is smiling. Wonderful rendition that just shined. Thank y'all for this, and Austin, thank you for what you're doing for our vets as well. 💋☘
My 9% Irish heart and 44% Scottish heart is smiling too.
All the Irish tenors throughout history are wiping a tear from their eyes and raising a Guinness to your health.
Used to hear Dennis Day sing this when I was a kid. Austin’s rendition not only brought back memories, it made new ones. Thank you Austin for sharing the incredibly beautiful gift God gave you.
Did you ever listen to Jim Reeves do this song. It's a very touching and beautiful song
No, but I will right now
You’re correct Rusty. Jim Reeves did a wonderful job.
@@rustymcnitt5508 Jim Reeves was such a great singer and a wonderful person. ❤
This was one of my daddy's favorite songs. He passed of Esophageal Cancer in 2014 which stemmed from Agent Orange. He lost his best friend, Danny while they fought together in Vietnam. My daddy dedicated this song to Danny.
Thank you, for posting. Love and light.💞
So sorry! Terrible.
I swear, Amberly is one lucky lady to be serenaded by a voice as incredible as yours. Thank you, Austin, for doing these videos for us. They help so much to get your fans (including me) through these (still) tough times. We so appreciate it, and you.
I KNOW RIGHT.
Many blessings to you always Austin!!
I have to agree there honey they idolise each other they eminate an awful lot of love between them.❤❤❤
I know that people say this all time, so much so that it can become cliche and trite, but darlin' you really do have the voice of an angel. Also the soul of one. You are amazing and the world is a much better place for having you in it.
I 1000% agree! 😊❤️
@@Lhun-ft6rl Agreed
My granny used to sing this to me from the top of the stairs at night when she was no longer able to make the stairs, she had a sweet, quake, quiet voice and I loved it so much. She was actually born in Scotland and her son in law, my dad in Ireland.
I found this by chance, listening to many performances of “O Danny Boy.” You sang it beautifully, with so much passion. I’d like to hear you sing the long version. Thank you for singing for me.
I literally just closed my eyes and just took this in. It is so hauntingly beautiful!
I know... I was happy he didn't do the 2nd verse because I'd be crying...
Hauntingly beautiful. Wish you could see the chills I got.
Me also
I played this song at my veteran Dad's military gravesite. He loved this song. 20 years later I still cry Everytime I hear it. You sing this beautifully 💕 Thank You
My husband was Danny & my grandson was named after him. This brought tears to my eyes. Love Austin!
You say "WE are changing your life", honey.. YOU are charging our lives! God's honest truth!! Such a touching and beautiful rendition. Thank you for covering it! 💕 God bless you all!
Beautiful
You made your grandma proud Austin. You have such a sweet and tender voice when you sing these beautiful ballads. Sing on Austin boy! Make all of us grannies proud!
I love hearing you sing! I'm so glad I found you on RUclips.
Me too. 😀
Exquisite, beautifully done, thank you for everyone of us of Irish descendants. I didn’t want you to stop. I wanted more! Sebastian’s arrangement on the Roland was so perfect too. Thank you.
Beautiful version!
what has Irish got to do with the song?
Danny Boy is an English folk song. You want the actual Irish tune, you're looking for the melody called Derry Air.
I've never heard this song sang so beautifully and so reverently. Slowing it down really added a depth to the song that hit my soul. Thank you so much!
*Thank you Austin.. You are doing a great service of heart healing, for humanity at large.. Music is medicine for the soul, and you my young man, are the doctor!! ;-)*
As an old Irish Catholic, few songs can start the tears within the first few notes faster than Danny Boy. Yours was no exception Austin, you delivered it with the grace and tenderness the song embodies. The only thing that would make it better would be to hear the rest of the verses sung with that same warmth and reverence. Thank you, young man. I'll say an Ave or two for you, my lad.
Agreed. My father used to sing this song to me when I was a child. It brings back so many memories and emotions.
This song was sung at my fathers funeral as it was his favorite song. I was 21 and never appreciated it as much as I do now that I heard YOU sing it. I have played it over and over finally learning what I should have learned years ago when he passed. At 53, you have brought my Dad back to me.❤️
Updating a year later: Still makes me soothed when I need calming. Feeling like my Dad is here. 🩵🩷
Listening
Beautiful, my Irish mother loved this song so I named my 1st born son, Danny. I don't speak to him, not my choice, but this will be sung at my funeral. Such a inspiring rendition. God bless you!
That was just stunning, love that all your songs are not overproduced, just honest music from the heart! That takes talent! Amazing!
World War II ... American soldiers dug in their foxholes on a cold, rainy, dark night in France. Morale was low, soldiers tired and lonely for home. Out of the dark, rainy, cold night a soldier from New York City began singing Danny Boy! All was not lost!
Many Irish , Anglo Irish and American Irish gave their precious human lives in that war , and we still haven't got a clue what the fighting was all about except it was a family arguement amongst royals.
That was sung and played so tenderly. What a joy to hear.
During the moments of song the soul is released and soars 🦅
Absolutely beautiful rendition of this beloved Celtic song! 👏👏👏
The song is English not Celtic
@@nmspain7125 Do a bit of research yourself, Danny Boy was written by an English lawyer called Fredrick Weatherly along with the male version with different lyrics called Eily Dear, no Celtic origins to the song at all but do not let the facts get in the way of your blinkers.
@@nmspain7125 No, it is Blinkers Thanks very much, might I suggest you do what you suggested I do and do a bit of factual investigation before typing a load of uneducated drivel.
@@nmspain7125 LOL, give yourself a good shake you clown.
A very unique interpretation of this traditional song. Your voice in the center, piano (just) emphasizing your voice. Well done. You made it your own song, your own very special and beautiful song.
This was beautifully done. Thank you for letting the song stand on its own with just the keyboard and your amazing vocals
This is the most inspiring rendition of this song just beautiful I play at least2 to 3 times a day gives me goosebumps the best ever
Always loved the song and now listening to this great voice and rendition, you have a new booster. Thanks to the two of you.
I was just working on my Irish ancestors, and your timing was perfect. You brought tears to my eyes. Love to both of you, such wonderful musicians.
Love that! Thank you so much
I loved Austin Brown’s voice the first moment I heard him sing!!!Plus, my daddy loved this beautiful song and if he were here today, he would be getting his guitar and singing harmony with him!! He would have loved his voice as much as I do!! Thank you, Austin !! You’re going places!! May God Bless!! Judy
I absolutely loved this version. I really liked how you slowed this down so more it felt it was truly coming from the heart. Like the heart was crying. Brought tears to my eyes. Will definitely checkout other music from Austin. Thank you for sharing this. ❤

Austin Brown, just when i think you have done your best cover, you release this belter!! Never in my 35 years of life have i been so drawn to a voice as magnificent as yours 💕 Love LOVE LOVE you. I really hope you see this comment. God Bless You 💕💕💕💕💕
I'm a 80 year old Irish green eyed Lassie that remembers her grampa singing this after a few pints in Cambria Pines California where he had a cabin. Luv this song. Now I live in beautiful Hawaii for the last 57 years.
This song bought tears and remembering my Dad, singing this. I've only just discovered you and you sing, with so much passion, so Thankyou from the heart... Australia

Well hello fellow Aussie.
My dad also luved this song & I also found Home Free by accident & Austin Brown is part of that group so of course, it goes without saying that he had to be brilliant too.

Austin, that's so fantastic, I had to cry so much 😭 I always loved this song, and you sing it great! Thank you so much 💖
So stunning, Austin. This song sounds so different in this rendition 💗
I’m 72 and my Mom’s family are OBrien…. Always loved this song but this version is something really special….
Nice job 👍.
Ya bastard … ya bought a tear to my eye !!!! Loved it 😍
I love Irish ballads. I can remember my mom and grandmother (a Donohoe) singing this song. Beautiful!
This granny loves you too.
Hello Noonie60 👋
How are you doing today?
SO BEAUTIFUL! I think this is my new favorite version of this song now! Great job!
This will always be my father's song. He sang it at the Durban City Hall as a young boy in an Eisteddford festival. We sang it for him while he was setting off on his journey back to his Father in Heaven 16 years ago. Thank you for the honor you do to his beautiful song. He learned it as Londonderry Air. Blessings to all. ❤️
Te grave scene makes me cry. I'm 84. I learned this song when I was about eleven. Been singing it ever since. Old ladies at nursing home always request it. He omitted the grave scene from second verse..
Wow…just wow! That was gorgeous and what a beautiful song choice and accompaniment ! This week was the anniversary of my father’s passing and he loved this song, so an extra “thank you” for the happy memory on a sad week….
Yes, Austin your ‘Danny Boy’ has left me speechless!! A beautiful rendition I have goosebumps, reminded me of a time long ago, when my late sister and husband used to duet Danny Boy as their party piece at family gatherings, thank you 🙏 Austin and Sebastian that was wonderful 🤗
First can I just acknowledge how special Sebastian is!! He's such an asset to your music. Now to your beautiful melancholy voice. It goes straight through me like an arrow that pierces my very soul. 🥰
I am 81 and a descendant of the McDonoughs. The Irish sing to momentarily wipe away hundreds of years of British cruelties and Danny Boy is the iconic song that represents that pain of a father missing his son. I have heard Danny Boy by dozens of singers over the decades and Austin's rendition is the very best that captures the plaintive call of that Irish father.
This means so much Jack. Thank you for sharing!
Greetings from Argentina
@@AustinBrownMusic You are welcome. Just keep singing with that once in generations voice.

Wow.....as soon as Austin started singing this, I literally got goosebumps from head to toe. So incredibly beautiful!!!!
This song was played at my younger brothers funeral. His name was Danny. Mom wanted this played. He died after a fight with cancer shortly after his 18th birthday. 😢

What a great pleasure to follow Austin the past year. Another example of what a super talent he is. His rendition of “When a man loves a woman” is on my favorites and I listen to it every time I tool down the road.
Your voice gives me chills and my eyes are crying because you are fantastic.
Wonderful that these well-loved songs are introducing new people to Austin. Being a part of AustinBrownMusic fans really has been a boost to my year. The group is growing bigger - but it still feels small. Love and light people :)
The Derry air
Austn Brown the best their is. He could sing the phone book with so much emotion and bring you to tears. I just love hearing him sing.
This version is by far among the finest I've ever heard. I grew up with this song my entire life as my parents were born and raised in Belfast, N Ireland. My late Dad had the most beautiful tenor voice I ever heard in my life and he LOVED singing this song. Austin, thank you and God bless your talent and thank you for always being willing to share your gift with the rest of us. I remember seeing y'all in Ft Lauderdale like 4 years ago. My arm was in a big 'ole bump sling after having shoulder surgery and the HF show was amazing. You guys sang "How Great Thou Art" which was my Dad's favorite hymn and you did a bone chilling, hair-standing-up-on-my-neck performance of it. Anytime I really need a shot of good vibes now I listen to it. I planned on a simple "Thank You" comment but we Irish are incapable of "Making a long story short"! God bless and keep singin!
Hi Austin and Sebastien, thank you so much for this lovely version of "Danny Boy." You might already know that it's the very sad song about a mother saying goodbye to her only son who is leaving to go to war for his country. She knows that when he returns, IF he returns, she will not be there to greet him, because she is dying of a serious illness.
Just EPIC “Austin Man” you sing with feelings, and it spreads. ❤️⚡️
Austin, Scots born Aussie here, this is a song that has been done to death but I listened because it’s you singing and it made my hair stand on end. Bravo and Merry Christmas from down under.
I hope we will all be free for this Christmas.

This was so pure. Love the tenderness and the synchrony of both of you in this performance. Stunning.
That is so touching and beautiful, it made me cry. It wasn't long enough.
Absolutely beautiful. Wish you would have sung the whole song.

Hello Kathy 👋
How are you doing?
Always a pleasure to listen to this young singer. Great accompaniment - he lets the singer stand out rather than drown him with his accompaniment, like most do! Keep up the good work, you two wonderful young men.
The most beautiful rendition of Danny Boy that I have ever heard…fantastic
@@kenhartman9981 very well thank you. Enjoying every Home Free RUclips I can find. I love this group so much. They are my all time favourite since Elvis and that is saying something! I adore Austin not only for his amazing voice but, also his love of his faith, family and animals of all kinds. He is truly one of a kind in my book. I will be 79 in December and only had one thing in my bucket list and that was to be able to see a Home Free concert in person. When I learned they are coming to Halifax Nova Scotia Canada I knew this was it for me. My son got the tickets and he and my daughter-in-law will be taking me to the concert. I hope you plan on spending some time here as Nova Scotia is one of Canada’s most beautiful provinces. I am sure you will see the harbour from the Atlantic Ocean where the submarines stood guard during the Second World War. It is the largest basin for all the subs to be able to turn around and get into their formation to defend our Country. A net had been dropped at the mouth of the harbour to prevent enemy subs from entering. We are a province full of beauty and history. And then we have Cape Breton which is part of Nova Scotia but is an island join by a highway of waterway with locks to get your boat thru. So much beauty in Cape Breton. A lot of musicians are from there also. Celtic dancing is a big part of the entertainment, sea shanty type music in just about every pub, boy would they love to see Home Free! I can’t wait until April! Say Hi to the boys for me and yes I would love to take them home with me!
I also wanted to mention that we had Danny Boy sung at my husband’s funeral as the casket was leaving the church. It was Mike’s favourite song. I wish he could have heard Austin’s version, the best I have ever heard ❤️
