It’s worth considering for retirement income. You could even maybe do a vacation bible day camp for kids and parents. Either way you make your own schedule by booking just the time you want to share. Maybe even a ranch camp to get extra hands helping around the homestead and sharing skills with the younger generations who haven’t been raised with these life skills. Like I say just something to consider ❤

My hubbs and I watched this last night and it was so wonderful seeing all the snow- we are in Florida and haven't seen snow in many years. What was so touching and such a lesson to us all was how Mr Brown and you care for your animals, and even the little birds who come and get food. We forget how fragile animals and birds are in this World- and there is so much cruelty. But you show them mercy and care, and its wonderful to see- an example to all of us to remember.

Having breakfast with you both made me think back to my grandfather saying, “ that was a good breakfast maw. What’s for lunch?” She’d give him a look. Paw paw made breakfast every morning for her. He’d let her sleep late and then call her for breakfast. He’d yell breakfast is ready baby. He always called her baby. And my daddy call me baby doll. And now there all gone so I call my children baby doll there young adults but I’ve told them like my grandmother use to tell my dad. You’ll always be my baby no matter how old you’ll get. So I tell them that and call them baby doll.
I sure wish I had had a momma cook me breakfast growing up. I use to get up at 5 am and hurry to get dressed to catch the bus at 6:45 am. My grandfather that I mentioned he would make biscuits and bacon. I’d grab a couple of biscuits and some bacon and run out to the bus. I’m thankful Paw paw fixed extra for me.
Sometimes Ms Lori you make me long to of had a momma to teach me everything you do. Guess no one would understand how I feel unless they never had a momma. God bless you Ms Lori.

London, ky..snow, ice and cold. But I'm use to it I lived in Ohio until 8 years ago. It's basicly been warm winters here for me until this year. I grew up with electric going off so I learned to prepare over the years....so I have been fine. I use to draw up water from our well to flush toilets in case city water lines burst....which they usually would if temps drop that low. Could use some milk, but I got canned milk for cooking until I make it to the store. Just gotta hunker down folks! I bet a lot of cities in Texas don't even own snow plows. Living in Ohio we are use to the plows and salt trucks being up and out at 4 am cleaning the roads off so people can get to work. So the Texans just need to stay off the roads until it warms up.

I remember the winter of 1978. We were living in Millard,Nebraska. In between Omaha and Lincoln. Our friend’s dad owned a big cattle ranch near South Dakota.. He lost many of his herd due to freezing. He took photos. Cattle standing upright, frozen in the deep snow. It was so sad. But their ancestors had barely survived getting there in the 1800’s. They were used to hardship. And they had faith. And love for each other which they passed down through generations. And passed that faith down to friends and neighbors. Even though sadness prevails, we must be calm and accept what exists in the present. Love you Miss Lori and Mr. Brown.Spring will be here soon. To every thing there is a season. Stay hunkered and warm, don’t want you sick again. My sister is in between Dallas and Ft. Forth. She had no power from yesterday evening to mid morning at 3 degrees. She said the wind turbines froze and caused the power outage. She’s got her pipes wrapped and keeps the faucet at a drizzle, and buckets of water in her shower. She ended up going outside to her fire pit to light a fire to warm up. She’ll be ok, she’s strong, but so many older folks and young children are having a hard time.

I know I am 53 and I haven't seen it like this in 46 years when we got snowed in the house and we lived in town. I had to shove the door open to let the dog out this morning. It was about 2 inches up my door and it's under an overhang. It's the grand solar minimum . God Bless everyone and stay warm and safe

That makes my bones hurt to think about! My mom and dad has just gotten married and they lived in an older drafty house with wood heat. I loved seeing how Mr. Brown took care of all the outside after the snow. Birds, hens, ducks all need attention. When we had our hens we had a bell outside by their feeding station & every morning when I fed them I rang the bell & they would come scurring out of the hen house to eat breakfast. Your hens were not ready to come out in that snow. :) We had our share of cold weather, snow, ice, power outages, etc. here around the Houston, Texas area. I love being with y'all around the table. And I remembered your huge wood piles, your beautiful wood stoves and knew that your home would be warm and cozy, even if the power went out. And, you can cook on that fantastic wood cook stove. And I thought of your well stocked pantry, and knew that you two have plenty to eat. And it is a comforting thought. I hope your kids learned from Mom & Dad to keep a well stocked pantry and means of arming their home and cooking without having to rely on electricity. And I hope you all have enough water.
