I have bought a jimny too recently when Maruti Suzuki offered discounts in December. My variant is Alpha MT kinetic yellow dual tone. I've driven it around 5k kms and this is what I feel about this car:- Pros: 1. Very capable off roader. Earlier I was driving 4x2 where sometimes I had to struggle during off roading but off roading in jimny feels way way easier. 2. Compact car. Maneuvering on narrow roads not an issue. 3. Suspension is really good. 4. Body roll over is almost non-existent. 5. Less road presence makes your car look different and with some modifications, people will keep checking out your car. 6. Boot space is adequate. U can put sufficient luggage if u want to go on a trip. 7. Five door system makes it highly practical. Ones who have used 3 door system on gpysy and thar would understand how tedious and uncomfortable it is to sit in the rear seats. Due to this reason, jimny can actually be used as a primary car. 8. Best 4x4 at this price. Cons: 1. Rear seat belt alarm is annoying. (Fixed it by detaching the bus couplers below rear seats.) 2. Gearbox is stiff initially and may take time to adjust. 3. Stock tyres and the front grill give a bad look to this car imo. Stock tyres are really thin. From the front, car looks like a toy due to this very reason. Upgrade if possible. Side profile of this car looks great though. 4. This car feels underpowered. No matter what others say, this car won't compete with many on the highways. This might be a factor to many who like to drive fast. There's a lag in acceleration. 5. Turning radius is a bit more. 6. Cabin space inside is not enough for big bulky guys. If you're a big guy, your arms will be touching the car door and also to the person sitting alongside you in the front. For skinny guys it's not an issue. Car is tall enough so there's enough space for your head also. 7. Under thigh support is not adequate in the rear seats. 8. This car doesn't have proper storage space for basic stuff like bottles, phones etc. It's really bothering.
Yeah he has discussed many other points too. He has given a great review already. I just wanted to share my feedback about this car overall. Might have missed few points myself. Hill hold feature works well in my car both in 4x4 and 4x2 modes. However, hill descent control feature is only available when 4x4 is engaged. One point which I think i have not responded well is about suspension. What he says about suspension is more true. Sometimes the back portion of the car seems like it's moving away from the front portion. That usually happens on higher speeds at sharp curves and on big potholes on the road. You need to drive carefully in such cases.

@BRH Expeditions,your review is invaluable as you have taken the Jimny to its limits and beyond unlike others who only parrot what they are told to say.A few clarifications - humming/whining sound from gearbox is a characteristic of the Jimny transmission design along with high revving engine.It is scary initially but not an issue.Even my Alpha AT has a typical whine especially in D mode and reduces if I use the options like L/2 and OD off. Hill Hold is a feature that is deployed automatically and even in RWD /4 x2 mode.Whereas Hill Descent is deployed when you press the Hill Descent switch,First Gear and in 4 x 4 mode either in High or Low depending on gradient.If you still have an issue after all the steps,then escalate the matter. Yes,the tow hooks are basic and forvyour lifestyle and useage pattern,you may need aftermarket Recovery Points along with appropriate metal bumpers.I agree that Maruti Suzuki should have designed the Recovery Hooks to be more rugged and lasting. You are correct about the rattle in the operation of the window glasses especially after it is in the lowest position.Another design flaw/cost cutting scenario. The worn seat covers are defenitely due to poir quality of seat covers and ergonomics of the design.It just cannot stand up to the G Forces you are subjecting the seats to especially with your height(luckily not weight) and your driving conditions 😅 You may need a customised Driver's Side seat perhaps.On that note,I wonder how big made South Africans and Australians are managing with stock seats ?! Please challenge the Diagnostic Charges by escalating the matter to higher ups. You certainly need to be a Brand Ambassador for the product and I appreciate you being humble and still giving the Jimny a big Thumbs Up. Hope Maruti is watching and takes care of your issues. This problem with while rev in 1st gear is because it’s longer wheelbase and led to problem , called ‘AXLE WRAP’. I was the 1st person to report this problem last year August, but people gave transfer case chainset problem.. there is one person in India who has solved this problem, he has added multiple link suspension , but for that Jimny needs a lift of 5 inches..
Also we would love to have your observations about high altitude, snow and extreme low temperature drives. I have watched all your expedition videos and been to some of these areas. So it would be great if you can provide pros and cons, what difficulties you faced, what worked well and in comparison with other off-road vehicles such as Thar, Bolero Camper, Hilux, Gypsy, Gurkha etc.

Bhai all vehicles with solid axles have the issue of turning and steering responce.. jimny is jem..also tow hook, it is not ment for towing, it is used for lashing of car on trucks and ships.. thar is worst .. has yoo much body role.. and poor quality.. the kind of offroading you do on jimny, thar cannot handle.. you will break front axles on thar..i have thar and jimny.. jimny is much better and more practical..humming noice is of the shaft, its rearv wheel drive ..

I pretty much have the same issues in my jimny as well. Rattling windows, squeaking sound on 1st gear when initial pik up. For under power issues I have installed EVC throttle controller and I am very happy with it. Literally put smile on my face after installation would definitely recommend it as it requires no engine tuning. I also get minimal steering vibration while braking around 65 kmph only. It used to be much more when i rotated the tyres i switched them back and now i only get vibration while braking around 65-70 kmph. ( I have 215 tyre sets).
AAP ne apni gaadi ki jitni bajai hai na , shukar manao chal rahi hai and sirf wobble kar rahi hai. I have been driving Jimny since launch and have driven 18000 kms. Dhang se chalao, aur drive ke Mazey lo. Nahi tau zyada paisa kamao aur hummer chalao.

For steering vobbling while braking, i suggest check for disc plate if skimming is required. I faced the same issue in fortuner twice and got rid of same after skimming the discs.
For hold hill/hill decent function - it works only if the car is in 4*4 mode…try… it should work…it’s inspiring to watch your videos dude…Jimmy ki limit test karte ho aap…I live in Himachal…do let me know next time when your are around or planning off road in Himalayas…would like to join…

Thank you for sharing your experience. Thodi gaadi halki banayi hai inhoney. I feel Maruti ne lifestyle off-roader sell ki hai. You are using it as a proper 4x4. At the price they are selling it they could definitely give better seat covers at least!
Dear i have watched all your videos since you bought the jimmny .and other your vidoes as well but it only you that made me to go for jimmny even i have taken the test ride .but one thing i would tell you since you are very expert as compare to me .what i noticed the guy who owns less bhp car or sedan for those they cant even notice the power lag on highway . But this review torally disheartened me wheather to go for jimmy or not . As i belong to himachal and lives in delhi but i do visit himachal regularly for that reason i was thinking to buy as family car. Kindly do answer the pros of jimmny in detail. what a review so detailed even I didn't notice that like you. you can change hook by yourself copying Mitsubishi Pajero. It should be in the centre of real bumper below number plate. Some alteration is required for a firmware. some how you are genius.

You forgot to mention the annoying seat belt alarm. I have put clips in the rear seat belts so that they don't make this unnecessary sound when no one is sitting. When someone occupies, he/she can remove the clip and put on safety belts.

hello brh expedition…jo gear noise ki baat kar re ho app wo actually chain noise hai transfer case se aati hai…ye noise se koi issue nahi hai…ek dum se accelerate karne par vibrations honete hai aur resonance ki wajeh se ye aise zgggggg awaz aati hai….ye normal hai jimny mein….oil change karne par ye kuch time ke liye kam ho jayegi but only for some time…steering vibration wali observation bhi theek hai but mere exoerience mein ye shayd tyre ki wajeh se ho re kyu ki kuch jimny mein humare paas ho re kuch mein ni ho re…baki service center ka bhi experience sahi observe kiya…kuch service centre mein jimny ke upar kaam karne mein ghabrate hain ya training ni hai wo makor kaam lena ni chahte…humne complain bhi kiya…maruti se promt bhi aaya ki they will deploy special technician plus mere ko ek free service bhi de di 😂
@@83cvn could be the solution in one of our jimnys we tried dr nano lift kit which came with steering dampner…that jimny does not vibrate even on 235 section…the lift is surprisingly cheap and as of now quite good…good for those on a budget…apart from the lift throttle controller is the best mod you can do on a jimny…enhances it quiet a bit from the stock form.

mere jimny mai bhi same issue hai reverse gear mai accelerate karne ke time tak ka noise aata hai phir first gear mai accelerate ke time tak noise karti hai company ko bhi koyi information nhe hai iske baare mai
Hi Bro, thanks for the video. I need an example when to use 4H. I have Zeta MT, with 2wd mode with traction off it works fine for bad roads. I have also used 4L in forest & hill areas. But have not found any scenario for using 4H. When engaged 4H, it seems engine struggles a lot in off road condition. Thanks.

The way you drive thus machine, brake pads shouldnt be something to complaint about. On hilly roads you gotta keep a spare set of front brake pads handy.

Bura na maane toh ek baat kehna chahunga. AAP galti se jimny ka radius bahut kam bol rahe ho. Actually me uski turning radius bahut jyaada hai. Baat aapki samajh aa gayi but usse jyaada radius kehte hai. Kam radius hona toh acha hota hai 😊

For Steering Wobbling, check your KingPin ( swivle joint) With wear and tear one might see this kind of issue.

Is your Jimny manual or auto? Mine is manual. It makes a very mild rattling noise in 4th and 5th when I accelerate. Is this normal?
Also He was towing much heavier cars and even a truck which might be the reason for the damage.

Body roll bahut contained hai, tow hook ki jo jhatke de de k mari hai ..fir to ukhadne they hi. 2T tow hook alag se install krne hote hai isme
Knee problems is in all Maruti cars. Knee always touches besides door or another side

For hold hill/hill decent function - it works only if the car is in 4*4 mode…try… it should work…it’s inspiring to watch your videos dude…Jimmy ki limit test karte ho aap…I live in Himachal…do let me know next time when your are around or planning off road in Himalayas…would like to join…
Hill hold works on 4x2 mode as well as 4x4 mode in jimny. However hill descent feature is only available when 4x4 is engaged.

Bro, Hill Hold assist works ONLY when car is in 4H or 4L. It is not designed to work on 2H mode.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Thodi gaadi halki banayi hai inhoney. I feel Maruti ne lifestyle off-roader sell ki hai. You are using it as a proper 4x4. At the price they are selling it they could definitely give better seat covers at least!
Dear i have watched all your videos since you bought the jimmny .and other your vidoes as well but it only you that made me to go for jimmny even i have taken the test ride .but one thing i would tell you since you are very expert as compare to me .what i noticed the guy who owns less bhp car or sedan for those they cant even notice the power lag on highway .
But this review torally disheartened me wheather to go for jimmy or not .
As i belong to himachal and lives in delhi but i do visit himachal regularly for that reason i was thinking to buy as family car.
Kindly do answer the pros of jimmny in detail.
If its in my hand i would definitely suggest suzuki to sponser or hire you as an expert for their performance testing vehicle dept
I have bought a jimny too recently when Maruti Suzuki offered discounts in December. My variant is Alpha MT kinetic yellow dual tone. I've driven it around 5k kms and this is what I feel about this car:-
Pros:
1. Very capable off roader. Earlier I was driving 4x2 where sometimes I had to struggle during off roading but off roading in jimny feels way way easier.
2. Compact car. Maneuvering on narrow roads not an issue.
3. Suspension is really good.
4. Body roll over is almost non-existent.
5. Less road presence makes your car look different and with some modifications, people will keep checking out your car.
6. Boot space is adequate. U can put sufficient luggage if u want to go on a trip.
7. Five door system makes it highly practical. Ones who have used 3 door system on gpysy and thar would understand how tedious and uncomfortable it is to sit in the rear seats. Due to this reason, jimny can actually be used as a primary car.
8. Best 4x4 at this price.
Cons:
1. Rear seat belt alarm is annoying.
2. Gearbox is stiff initially and may take time to adjust.
3. Stock tyres and the front grill give a bad look to this car imo. Stock tyres are really thin. From the front, car looks like a toy due to this very reason. Upgrade if possible. Side profile of this car looks great though.
4. This car feels underpowered. No matter what others say, this car won't compete with many on the highways. This might be a factor to many who like to drive fast. There's a lag in acceleration.
5. Turning radius is a bit more.
6. Cabin space inside is not enough for big bulky guys. If you're a big guy, your arms will be touching the car door and also to the person sitting alongside you in the front. For skinny guys it's not an issue. Car is tall enough so there's enough space for your head also.
7. Under thigh support is not adequate in the rear seats.
8. This car doesn't have proper storage space for basic stuff like bottles, phones etc. It's really bothering.

what a review so detailed even I didn't notice that like you. you can change hook by yourself copying Mitsubishi Pajero. It should be in the centre of real bumper below number plate. Some alteration is required for a firmware. some how you are genius.

You forgot to mention the annoying seat belt alarm. I have put clips in the rear seat belts so that they don't make this unnecessary sound when no one is sitting. When someone occupies, he/she can remove the clip and put on safety belts.

hello brh expedition…jo gear noise ki baat kar re ho app wo actually chain noise hai transfer case se aati hai…ye noise se koi issue nahi hai…ek dum se accelerate karne par vibrations honete hai aur resonance ki wajeh se ye aise zgggggg awaz aati hai….ye normal hai jimny mein….oil change karne par ye kuch time ke liye kam ho jayegi but only for some time…steering vibration wali observation bhi theek hai but mere exoerience mein ye shayd tyre ki wajeh se ho re kyu ki kuch jimny mein humare paas ho re kuch mein ni ho re…baki service center ka bhi experience sahi observe kiya…kuch service centre mein jimny ke upar kaam karne mein ghabrate hain ya training ni hai wo makor kaam lena ni chahte…humne complain bhi kiya…maruti se promt bhi aaya ki they will deploy special technician plus mere ko ek free service bhi de di 😂
For steering issue I guess steering damper should be replaced with heavy capacity asper tyre size.
@@83cvn could be the solution in one of our jimnys we tried dr nano lift kit which came with steering dampner…that jimny does not vibrate even on 235 section…the lift is surprisingly cheap and as of now quite good…good for those on a budget…apart from the lift throttle controller is the best mod you can do on a jimny…enhances it quiet a bit from the stock form.

mere jimny mai bhi same issue hai reverse gear mai accelerate karne ke time tak ka noise aata hai phir first gear mai accelerate ke time tak noise karti hai company ko bhi koyi information nhe hai iske baare mai

I have Zeta MT, with 2wd mode with traction off it works fine for bad roads. I have also used 4L in forest & hill areas. But have not found any scenario for using 4H. When engaged 4H, it seems engine struggles a lot in off road condition.
