Manage space well in front of your vehicle. Most important, slow down back from where you actually want to stop and creep up to where you want to stop. Intersections are going to be most slippery. And the farther you get from main roads, the more snow and ice there is going to be on the roadway.
Good luck on your road test.

I grew up in MI, I am in TN. I am thankful for my winter skills. Doing fine with a FWD. So important to dress properly. I also am the only one I see with a heavy duty ice/snow scraper/brush for my car. Also remove the snow from the roof.

This is my first year driving in the snow! We've had snow here in Boston and my car got stuck going uphill! I had to get out and push my car 😅 but I got moving again all was well! Thank you for all the great info 👍🏾

dedicated snow tires are such a huge game changer. Especially if you have a smaller car that doesn't have a lot of weight to help you dig and bite into the snow for traction. The difference is night and day. Spent last winter on some half used up all seasons and this winter I'm on all 4 new snow tires. No matter how careful I was last year there were still multiple instances where I started sliding, spinning wheels, engaging the ABS and even once I got stuck in the gutter trying to 3 point turn to avoid climbing this hill with about 6 inches of wet snow on it. With the snow we've had this year so far I'd have to really be trying to make my car lose traction.

Happy to hear that good quality tires are helping out my friend. What brand of tires did you purchase? All the very best, Cheers Rick

@@smartdrivetest I think they are just some Dynamos I got from canadian tire. I would have liked higher quality ones but dropping several hundred dollars on new tires wasn't in the picture and I'm not fully trusting of used tires. 😅

Rick, would you explain what you mean by "steer like a crazy person"? Especially if on ice. I'd like to be clear on that so I don't overdo it. Thanks!

When I’m going to take an off ramp that’s 25mph should I go 15-20 mph off it and do I slow down gradually before coming to the off ramp?
