Awesome! I used to spend weekends on the observation deck on top of Midcontinent Airport in Wichita with my dad watching the pioneers and the old timers. That is one FANTASTIC video. While I can't distinguish it in my memory, I can assure you I used to watch the original Learjet. I am proud to work for the company, Bombardier, that now owns Learjet. I am even more proud because Bombardier prides itself on innovation and celebrates the innovation of the founders of its companies. Thanks!
First 104 Learjets build were 23's. Serial numbers 1 up to 99. There were 5 extra 'A' serial numbers inserted in the production line (028A, 045A, 050A, 065A, 082A). 13 Learjet 23's were converted to a Learjet 24 (serials 011, 012, 015, 019, 031, 043, 050, 051, 055, 060, 065, 087, 096). The 23 and early 24's had the same number of cabin windows (3) and the 'bullet' on the tail. Starting with the model 24D (24-218 & 24-230 thru 24-328) it had small cabin windows and no more bullet on the tail.
best write up of the 23 and early 24's thank you for this! Huge fan of these large windowed 1st Gen Lear Jet's they aren't flying in North America or Europe, are any flying in Africa or South America?
Gumby, it depends which side you're viewing, i.e. on the left (port) side, the entry DOOR takes up the space of one window, thus the early models had *2* large oval windows on the right side, but just a single large oval on the left. Got to fly in a 23 once, with a little right seat time... VERY responsive = straight mechanical controls.
true on the N number plus just looking up the lears, the 23 has only 1 window on the side, the 24 has 2 windows on the side and the 25 has 3 windows. at least that's what the wikipedia has for them. kinda cool.
So that the commentator does not talk very much about planes and helicopters so he adds the music so he can be quiet what's wrong with having music at a airshow too loud or disappointing
@@0001943 So,,,,,,,,you stopped going to airshows in the early 1990s ? I agree music is annoying sometimes but that doesn't stop me. The two hours to leave after it's over doesn't stop me either.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🍺🍺

Litteraly a personal fighter jet
Indeed it is the engines comes from a fighter plane
Yup!
I flew a 24 from Las Vegas to Los Angeles in 43 minutes. Up to 50,000 and back down again. Try that today!

Our company had a Lear 25 back in the day. Was a mailing tube but it was a rocketship! Loud AF
gotta love those CJ610's :D

I still love that plane! Like the corvette of the skies. Some might fly faster and higher but no other biz jet flies with that kind of authority!
Not many civilian jets can top 51,000 feet like the Lear Jet can.
And such a stunning looking aircraft too ...
Great fast aerobatics flight and smoke great landing too with music
Why do airshows play music?
Very annoying, I stopped going when they started doing the flight line music.

was the lear 24 certified for aerobatic? or was this a modified plane?
Dont think so but the lear 24 could do that it could almost go supersonic to in dive u could reach supersonic speeds
Wow! Nice work Captain!
FAA Reg states N3137 is 24-123
A jet that's a rocketship!
That looks like if the Learjet 23 was adapted to be a bomber
The music they play at these air shows ruins it every time
Yep !!!!
@@spencerhughes2255 yup. Boomers ruin everything
Nice, very nice
...whata hot rod...
Bien capitan tarea cumplida.
sexy
Super... wet.
