I lived in Mira Mesa back in the early 70's and use to watch the Air show from the roof of our house. It always turned into a neighborhood watch party. One neighbor even had a deck built on top of his house to view from. Good Times!
Was actually looking forward to having both Raptors there on the flight line being airborne on Friday, kinda similar to last year. Nothing on the planet like having two of these in the air space overhead at the same time.

Interesting, I thought Miramar what shut down decades ago. I grew up in PB, moved away for undergrad in late 70’s then returned in 82 for a few years working at Rohr in Chula Vista. After the General Dynamics acquisition, I moved to Pasadena for grad school and have only returned to SD area twice since, both for funerals. I know Top Gun school moved to norther NV in late 80’s and thought Miramar would now be covered in residential development. I guess it’s good there’s still an active airfield. Is USN still maintaining a base there?
