WOOOOOOW!! I am basically BRAND new to this medium and this is just mind-blowingly stunning. When you spread the gold over the whole thing, omg... talk about trusting the process!
I'm also new to the jelly plate, and I've been trying to do some transfers with very, very limited success. I'm pretty frustrated, and then I see this and I wonder what in the world I'm doing wrong. I hope you have videos on your channel that explain this? I'm going to go check -- Ha! Just realized whose video this is! Of course you have videos that are going to help me! I love your videos!
Tried Gelli printing for the very first time today!!! 💪 I mastered the bubble wrap print (sorta kinda)! 😅 I'm amazed by this video! Excited for what lies ahead. Thanks for posting!
I'm just so very frustrated. I've tried many different magazines only to end up with a black magazine page and no transfer 😢. So today I went to Office Max (after calling first to make sure their copiers are laser) and copied some magazine pages. I did some normal and some on darker settings. All excited I pulled up my laser images only to be disappointed once (4 times!)again. 😢 I am putting a pretty shear layer of black paint down🤷♀️
I’m not sure what you’re doing unless I can see it? The problem is either the print or the paint? It can be very frustrating when it doesn’t work, I’m sorry 😘🥰 cheers
I wonder how this holds on to the print? I’m an artist and I have never worked with this type of print. It doesn’t make sense how it works. Someday I’ll try this jelli print, possibly! but right now I’m a bit tied up with watercolor. It’s definitely my passion.
Amazing work. And thank you for sharing your process! I am an art teacher and always looking for new projects. I'd love to teach this. Can you share what kind of paper and what kind of paint/ink you are using for this project?
I have full length video on my channel & a whole playlist check it out! 👍🏼 Colour laser copy prints work best with acrylic paint in the gel plate 😍 cheers
I love this and have paid and watched your lessons on skill share but I cannot get the magazine transfer to work. Please. What is the secret? Special kind of magazine?
I have found older 1990-2008 Vogue Fashion Mags work well… also just recently a Target catalogue! You need to try all types to see what works. When it doesn’t it is the type of ink or printing process that has been used. It’s not you, just keep trying. You will get it to work when you find the right ones.
I wish this would work for me as well. I tried but no image is transferred. Does it need to dry first before pulling it off I wonder. I'm so new to this
Yes it's paint and I tap the paint!. You can watch the full episode here - 3 Best Tips For Gelli Printing Success: Mastering Magazine Transfers ruclips.net/video/VEa8KfTQ9ks/видео.html
She has tutorials on her RUclips channel. Basically 1. You spread a thin, even layer of acrylic paint on a gel plate. Let that dry. 2. Place a magazine photo or an image printed from a laser printer face down onto the dried paint on the gel plate. Rub the back of the image gently to get the ink to transfer to the gel plate. Let that dry. 3. Add any marks or designs you want to, like she did with the tool she used in this short video. You could use acrylic paint to decorate the image using multiple colors anywhere you prefer on the image that’s on the gel plate. Let that dry. 4. Paint another layer of acrylic paint over the image. Put the paper down on top of that. Press gently and evenly across the back of your paper. Let it dry. 5. Then, carefully pull the paper up and hopefully the image will be transferred to your print paper and look pleasing to you. If not, no worries, you can paint over it. Her videos gives lots of tips for beginners that’ll help you. 🥰

I havent had success with this yet but I'm determined....do you press image and lift straight away or is there drying time? Do you have a sinilar video with talking?
Thanks so much for sharing your talents. I have a question though...does one let the paint dry before putting another layer and that goes for stamping. Does the whole thing have to be dry or semi dry before putting the down. I'm totally new to this.
The laser copy print is the magic! The dark areas resists the paint on the gel plate, the light areas absorb the paint creating the image transfer 👍🏼 cheers
@@FroyleArt thank you….I need to drag out the gelli plate and jump on one of your beginner tutorials and do it. Heaven knows why I’m so intimidated by that thing. Lol❤️

What materials do you use to get the transfer? And are you just laying paper onto the ink, pressing, and peeling?
Yes 👍🏼 either a good quality magazine or copy laser copy 😍 acrylic paint, cheers
She has tutorials on her RUclips channel.
Basically
