Not withstanding the exhaust fume extraction system, "sometimes" the tunnel is full of fumes.
So unless the weather over the top is really bad. I go that way.

HAVE u travelled the country to see the great infrastructure projects that have done since APARTHIED, the world cup stadiums are a great starting point. the plethora of interchanges/flyovers. im surprised u still live in this ANC COUNTRY with all its disappointment

I believe that I may have the key for the prison that those Italians were kept in. It has the letters PAK KA on the key ring. They were left by my late wife who was fascinated with the pass, especially on a motorbike. She got claustrophobic in the tunnel. She said that the key was from the prison on top of the pass. Who could I return it to if it is the key?

No.The tunnel was completed in 1988,and opened by PW Botha.
