Finally got time to watch this - brilliant fitting! Seemed like a good choice to just leave the top end with hybrids for now, and then see if the need for a 3W gap filler would emerge later. Always fascinating to see the eye of Simon catching the nuances that tiny weight shifts impart on the swing and strike and working to get it just right 👌. Thanks to Derek for putting himself out there for us to see the process. And 👍👍👍 on the excellent production quality and camera cuts James - high level and getting better week by week! 😃
So good. Club champion, and others in the US simply get people who don’t know much and just go by the numbers. Too bad sitting in Boston I can’t get help from you.
Thanks for pointing that out, we completely agree! Anyone can by a professional camera but doesn’t mean they can take a good photo. Hope to see you one day on a Family vacation 😉
I went for a fitting last year and had my dynamic gold S300 shafts replaced in my Mp30s to nippon modus 3 105 stiff but i seem to be hitting the ball even higher, left and a good club short now. The weight of the clubs feels great but im wondering if i should have gone X STIFF shafts.
The flex alone will not alter this. It would seem like a heavier swingweight might help reduce the left miss and possibly lower flight a little. A more tip balanced shaft at that weight could also help (DG105 would do this)
For now yes. Fill in the gaps as and when needed. 14 is a maximum and not a necessity so only worth playing clubs that you need rather than just making up the numbers
Sorry for the delayed reply. Iron shafts are Shimada Constant 90 Stiff and wedge shafts Nippon Modus 105 R flex. Reason for flex difference is the Modus play firmer so more similar to the Shimada Stiff but we want to make sure the wedge shafts keep some feel so going into the softer flex
@@Precision_Golf Thank you! Interestingly, I feel like I have a similar swing dynamic to Derek and I have a similar setup in my irons and wedges: NS Pro 880 AMC R in my Ping i210's and Modus 105 R in my Callaway MD5 wedges.
I also tried 3w hl, but it did not work for me. I chose 20* callaway heavenwood instead. I have never seen anybody fitted to this club on any of youtube chanels. Did you consider this option for Derek?
The shorter shafts in the hybrids was something Derek was more comfortable with and the consistency he gained from the hybrids was such that the gain in carry that a heavenwood would give him would be overridden by the potential for less consistent dispersion.
So interesting to watch these videos that talk about the weight of the shaft rather than flex. I’m finding that my modus 105 these days might be a tad light as there isn’t that weight to help me get into the slot and deliver the club. I’m thinning quite a few. Might be a combination of that shaft with a PXG P head while tried the Cobra Tour King and Modus 120, there was that feeling of release into the ball. You think it’s the weight or the shaft profile ? Also, anything else like the Modus 120 that I should try ? Thanks in advance for the help
Definitely the weight. You could all try Dynamic Gold 120 (heavier tip end), Project X LZ 5.5 (115g), Project X IO 115g but the Modus 120 will have the most responsive feel
@@Precision_Golf thats what I was meaning, why not have a "part-2" and show this part as well, and have a link in the description; also a second or two at the start explaining this is what is happening, as most of us watching are social golfers, or beginner golfers (ones who borrow a friends clubs whilst playing with them, in want of our own set); so this "fitting" is still a new concept for us, but great having them custom fitted, just like a tailored suit, not all of us are by the book size wise.
We will definitely be able to film putter fittings we have a full time content creator. The putter studio is in a separate part of the building and it’s not currently practical to move all the filming equipment. I film/edit all content myself at present and my time is somewhat limited whilst running the business. Completely take all your points on board, and rest assured this a growing arm of the business, albeit in its infancy 👍🏻

Thanks so much Niels. Glad you enjoyed it. Main camera upgrade coming very soon. Streaming issues sorted. The future is bright 😎👍🏻
Brilliant video thanks 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it Dave

Very kind of you to say. Thanks for watching - we’re here if you find yourself in London any time!

So is Derek going to play with an 11 club total bag for now? Love the idea of that…

What iron shaft was Derek ultimately fitted into? And what were the wedges shafts specifically?

one question, the title says "full bag", so why didn't you fit the putter as well?
Hi Andy. The putter is a separate 90 minute appointment so it doesn’t form part of the full bag fitting.

What is the girl doing in the background????
Haven’t seen the time stamp you’re referring to but probably Derek’s Wife who was watching the fitting
