I just cruised solo from San Francisco to Sydney Australia (really need to make and post a video) i had a great time since it was a month long cruise in the end the whole ship basically knows everyone!
I love seeing a younger person enjoying the solo cruising. I am 70 and cruise alone. I agree with all your thoughts. Great to do what you want to do, but I do wish I had someone to share it with. I also have been blessed to meet others on ship. I am professional Santa, so that helps to start conversations. I am doing Port Canaveral to Alaska in 2025
I’m just the opposite, I cannot cruise with others, and I can only cruise alone. I don’t look for people to latch onto and sometimes I need to untangle myself from groups, so nothing about how this content provider handled wanting to talk to others would be an issue for me. I like that she discussed that aspect of cruising alone for people who might need to hear about that. I’m a lone wolf/extrovert meaning that if and when I want to be social I will be-I’m not shy, but I can also blend into the woodwork, too.

Great video. My last three cruises have been solo and all on Carnival. You hit on all the key points I’ve observed and experienced. I do gamble, so that’s another place to meet people if that is something you are in to. I cruise to disconnect from normal life, so I love the freedom to do what I want and when I want. The double occupancy charge is a pain.
Went on one cruise alone. After my wife passed away. She was looking forward so much to go on it. Had to pay a single supplement although I was paying for two people all along. It was on a Carnival line. Princess. The singles event was every night at the same time I was schedule to eat dinner. It was unhosted. Met many people in the casino. You could make friends if you win them money. Those friendships only last as long as the cruise though. Most of the people I am in contact with these days I met on a cruise. You can spend quality time alone. It isn't bad.

Cruising with Norwegian to me is the best going solo because they have concierge and you have the studio rooms with your own bar and lounge it helps make a nice areas for people to get acquainted and make new friends
My first and only Norwegian Cruise (Getaway) had a better deal on a mini-suite than in the studio rooms, so that's what I took. I discovered the solo group on the second day, they had a woman that would sit us together, get us show reservations, etc.
I have cruised solo once and it was a bit awkward but I have anxiety issues. I pushed through and had a great time. I am getting ready to embark on my second solo cruise, but...this time its a group cruise. I don't know anyone personally but there will be a group to hang out with. The group is the "Always be booked,Pirates and Pier Runners group cruise". Should be fun

Cruising the Celebration July 24' for two weeks. My daughter is usually my Cruise buddy but looking forward to sailing alone. Kinda nervous but very excited.
Do better research and planning and it'll pay off. I cruised a solo b2b on the Celebration in December, aft extended balcony, $100 per cruise, plus the fees and such. I almost always cruise solo, I think I prefer it now. Well done video 😄
I prefer traveling alone, pretty much on my own terms. I’ve gotten to the point of not minding the solo punishment charges. As an older sober gent (77+), I’m fine not socializing & hanging out at the multitude of drinking establishments on board. Sharing a cabin w someone I don’t know is a total undesirable situation to me.

Whoa. I had an interior cabin with a friend on RC for 13 nights Feb 2023. Both of us together was only $1800 with gratuities. That price seems very high.

Being single.....of course I always travel single.....and yes your right you don't have to woorry about the idea of waitin on people.....on the curises....I have a great time....I love life and I enjoy getting to know others that are out to enjoy life as well....I also often find my evenings to be alone\.....I hang out in the casino....I also enjoy working on videos and stuuff like that on my youtube channels....most the time I will siit with people to eat with .....usually I'm the siignle at the table....so I have ample time to get toknow the people I eat with......when you miss that first tnight ....well it's usually harder breaking in for the second night dinner ....so I norlmally make sure I have my first dinner expearience in the main dinning froom with others at the table......also going to the shows and stuff like that I can sit where I want usually......I agree the price is very high.....buut if that is all you have......I guess it will work fo rme ..!!! :D

Not really a solo cruise just because you have a cabin to yourself. Solo cruising is when you’re not part of a group, couple, family, and you don’t know another soul on the ship.
This October I plan on going on vacation and decided on a solo cruise. I know the single supplement means you pay double but guess what. You stay at a hotel you're paying double anyway. I was checking out the prices for south Florida and it's at least $250/day and does not include food or transportation. So I booked a 5 day solo cruise on Carnival Sunshine for $1300. I figure total cost will be a little under $1500 all said and done. If I flew down to Fort Lauderdale, Miami or the Keys that $1500 wouldn't cover the flight and the hotel. So the $1900 for 7 days doesn't sound so bad.
Just curious if carnival had any solo "Meet and greets" like NCL? I would like options of other cruiselines that do this as it would help tjhe introvert in me! Tia
I have been cruising SOLO for yearS, .... and wondering why a clip is "needed" for this subject. Nevertheless, I strongly suggest next time you split the beds, giving you the space that you now have on both sides of the bed, into a wide strip in the middle of room.
I love traveling solo! I never feel alone! I feel free! I've had friends invite themselves so that I am not "alone." Nope! Nada! Uh-uh. No thanks. I want to do what I want to do. Not what YOU want to do. Better to not have anyone to share your great time with than to be with someone and wish you did something else. Many of my friends dont understand and feel sorry for me. I feel sorry for them because they dont feel comfortable enough with themselves to go it alone and be at peace.😂

I starting cruising solo , I love it. It so easy to relax and enjoy what you like , usually you find people you like and enjoy the cruise.
Been doing research it's allot cheaper not the newest ships, but a few older ships it's so much cheaper
Its easy to meet friendly people on cruises. My friends met a group of girlfriends and we all ended up hanging out together.
