Yes! Especially limiting your drinking. Don’t get me wrong I love a margarita, but when you are traveling alone, you need to be in control and aware of your surroundings. Don’t let anyone buy you a drink, and if you do make sure to take the drink directly from the bartender - be cautious if someone offers to go to an out of sight bar and bring the drink back to you. Don’t loose your brain just because you are on vacation. 🤷🏻♀️
I agree about the drink package. I don’t think it’s because people don’t know their limit, but they tend to drink more to try and ‘get their money’s worth’.
Thanks so much for sharing this Jenn! All of these tips are extremely important for solo cruisers. These safety precautions can also be applied to any type of travel where you may be alone or even in an unfamiliar place with a a couple of friends. I appreciate you keeping us safe. Stay blessed. ✌🏾🛳️🥊🏋🏽♀️🥋✈️😊
Good reminders. Another reason I delay posting anything about my trips until I'm home is that I don't want to advertise that my house is sitting empty while I'm away. I have neighbours that I tell I'm away, but ppl on social media don't need to know!
Not a big drinker. Maybe one or two glasses of wine with a meal. Or a Mimosa with Brunch. Don't like to post anything on real time. Usually don't get out of the casino until the early hours. Many times they have to throw me out of the casino. Always like booking shore excursions through the cruise line. New subscriber. And did hit the like button.
@@TheJennDanielle There are lots of games to play in the casino. Have learned to play most of them. There aren't that many games good for having a shot at winning or at least to hang in there and be a tough out.
Girl I have flown in at night twice on my solo cruises and you just pulled my coattail on it. Thank you for this. Also the posting in real time 😰very good tips
This is a really useful video! I remember being horrified finding someone SO drunk on NCL Escape in the solo cabin corridor - I can’t think of anything worse than being in that position!
Thank you! I am going on my first solo cruise next week and this was very helpful. I've been on about a dozen cruises but never solo. This was helpful!
Oh man, I've cruised solo twice and on the first night of each cruise I enjoyed 'touring' the cruise ship by walking by myself late at night to get to know the ship better precisely cuz there was no one around and I had the areas all to myself. I even recorded videos/pictures. I thought "I'm in a cruise ship, not walking the streets." but now that I hear you say that, I think to myself that dam! I could have been snatched and locked up in an area in the ship difficult to be found. LMAO!!! I don't plan on cruising anytime soon. But if I ever do, I'll tour the ship with ppl around, better idea.
I’ve done it too and I agree, it’s such a serene time to be out. But yeah, it’s not the safest thing to do. I also agree that it’s different than being out in the streets.
Thank you for the tips. You look fantastic. Looks like you list weight. Now I'm going to ask, where did you stay in Miami, and how far was the hotel from the Virgin Voyages port. Because of you and SIG the Solo Cruiser, I am taking my first solo cruise in September. And thanks for the tip, I was going to get the drink package. I'll have to think twice about that
Thank you so much for this video!! I appreciate it a bunch!! Are there any solo gadgets or cruise/traveling gadgets you’d recommend? Or maybe there is always a video posted about it on your channel? ☺️🩷 new here 😅🩵
I don't even post anything about my trips until I get home FROM my trip. I treat vacationing as I do when I am home - I am observant and aware of my surroundings at all times. I don't tell people that I am solo traveling, always someone is in the cabin or somewhere else on the ship. I use Viator a lot pre or post cruise. In ports, I use the cruise line mainly because of my anxiety about being left LOL So I go with the cruise line, I know I am good - not only safety wise but if something happens and there is a delay, vehicle breakdown - I am not on anyone's video running to the ship.
im going on the conquest as a solo cruiser dec 2nd and i will be getting the drink package only cause after using OBC ill only be out of pocket a little over a 100 dollars so its worth it to me, especially as i also am a major coffee drinker and soda drinker so those unlimited or limited ( spiked coffees) make it worth it to me, i also know my limits and keep to it
Oh yikes!! I bought the drink package on my upcoming Celebrity Ascent solo cruise as i do like 4-5 drinks a day through out my day and dont want to hear that mental cash register chinging. Really good tips!! I am binge watching your series!
This would be a great topic for another video. I drank a ton of fancy coffee on my last trip and had pressed juice but it still didn’t make the package worth it.
I’ve only been on a few cruises but am desperate to hit the high seas again soon, but all have been solo journeys, I’ve two other tips that even myself a a single guy at almost 40 would abide by, 1.Don’t post your cabin number/name reservation number-Any ware-don’t tell anyone you’ve not known prior to that cruise very well which cabin you’re staying in. 2.don’t accept food or drinks for a kind stranger ( or insist you accompany them to the bar/ food outlet and only accept said food product if you’ve watched it be prepared by crew and get handed directly to you- anyone worth their salt as it were will respect your reasons. I’m legally blind and after working in hotels for 2 decades I choose not to use my cane on the ship as it’s in a way just a massive extension to my workplace < minus the h20 of course > it is in a way a safety precaution too as it doesent draw attention to my visual impairment on the ship- clearly I do take it into port as this is the time I’m going to need it the most there are no cars or electric scooters to hit me on the ship lol but I ALEAYS let the cruise line know about my impairment( when o mi book my cabin as without being open they can’t assist you properly in an emergency and it’s disrespectful to spring thst on them( my thoughts anyway ) I’ve definitely been known to frequent tbe outer decks at night - however I never go near the promenade deck or any areas at the side of the ship such as moving by stairs between parts of the Ledo deck as they are oftern in either pitch darkness or so poorly lit they are unsafe for me at night -my insurer will not cover claims where I’ve been reckless < nor as it happens if your really drunk > I’ve been approached by ship security late at night well after midnight when out fir fresh sea air to check on my welfare when ever I’m out on deck late at night I’m always thankful for that as they are only asking to make sure I’m safe. Solo cruising is enjoyable but the safety tops given in this video are important. David Young 39 Brisbane Australia.
Thanks for sharing! I'm going on my first solo cruise this month. I booked a day pass at a resort near the port. Is this something you've felt safe doing?
People need to hear over and over that flying in the day before the cruise is the best option. Now solo cruisers have one more good reason to follow that advice.
I’m always surprised that people travel the day of because it tires you out before day 1. I live in Atlanta so it’s maybe an hour and a half flight but I still wouldn’t unless I absolutely had to.
first rule of solo anything is don't tell anyone you're soloing!
I didn’t drink at all on my solo cruise (for many reasons) but being drunk alone on a boat alone did not seem safe for me.
Amen to that. I knew my limit since being alone. I found that I did not hang out as late and got soo much rest and enjoyed the Balcony more ever!

That’s a great tip about people buying your drinks.
Great tips! I always use FB to meet people on my ship so I don't do excursions alone.
I forgot to add that! I do that as well.

Yes! Delayed posting is so important.
Solo cruisers can take some comfort that there are video cameras all over the place recording your/everyone's movements on the ship.
That’s 100% a great point that I forgot to mention.
@@TheJennDanielle Silly though it may sound, I would absolutely LOVE to see a ship's video surveillance room and how it all works!

I really wish people talk about the other benefits of the cheers package besides the alcohol. You can basically drink ANYTHING on the ship

Agree, on my 1st solo cruise I regretted not getting the drink package for my coffee (I love fancy coffee) and other drink options.
