Morning Gary! I'm so glad that people like you can see the bigger picture and lay that down on your channel. We get angry knee jerkers who hit out immediately because we haven't done this or that. That's their choice...but I prefer the bigger picture. Fantastic reasoned arguments made this video a delight. Agree with you?...most of it but our differences make up who we are. Optimism is our strength...our song is of hope...and sometimes our dreams fade and die (on the Anfield grass usually 😅 as you rightly say.) There are 6 teams below us ATM....I feel that number will increase as the ship steadies itself. Just remember that for each abusive post there are significantly more who are both behind and with you. You're one of ours mate... And held in high esteem....⚒️⚒️⚒️
exactly Ranger, the big picture is we’ve only lost to 1st, 3rd and 5th in the league. I never knew a big part of the West Ham fans were as unreasonable as this. It is perfection, beautiful football or nothing.
good summary Gary, decent point for us , bloke needs time, a lot of new squad members and new team for him, reckon we will improve over time and be a force
Nice to see some positivity Gary. I’m of the belief that last seasons form has carried on into this season and it will take time to turn things around completely.
Brilliant round up Gary as always mate. This channel is one of the few I subscribe too and is fast becoming one of my favourites . Analysis is always spot on and fair without the sniping and constant moaning I sometimes hear being brandished around, which can be a bit nasty at times. I also see big improvements, and Lopetegui is quick to make changes which I like. We are starting to build better things I feel.
Thanks Nige, clearly a positive person like me. I have reset my expectations back to where I was at the start of the season and I'm thinking - this is gonna take time, so let's just welcome each little improvement we see and I saw plenty yesterday.
Thanks Billy, I think it's important to just be honest and that's what I was. I watched the game with my son and we're both STHs, we both really enjoyed the game. Yes scrappy, but Brentford will always cause us problems. I'm just looking for iterative improvement and I think in some areas of the pitch I saw it yesterday. I want to see more again at home to Ipswich.
Nice work Gary. I’m so much happier with how we have been playing (apart from Chelsea) but it’s been frustrating not coming away with anything. Glad we got a point and like you, so many positives to take from the game. My biggest criticism is how not at it Bowen is right now.
Great summary gary . Defensively we looked a lot better than recently. Lopetegui needs to find a way of freeing up both bowen and kudus . Id be tempted to play them as a front 2 if i was him . ⚒️⚒️
Thanks mate, and yes I agree. I think he is gradually working things out but the front players when Fullkrug is not available is a bit of a dilemma clearly. Do you play Kudus right and drop Bowen? Do you drop Paqueta and play Bowen in there? Do you drop Soucek and just put all the big names in there, whether they work or not? To be honest I'm not sure I have the answer, I feel I'm just guessing in a kinda FIFA football manager type way, I couldn't actually nail my colours to the mast at all in an attacking sense, but I'm sure he'll find the right combination eventually. Meanwhile I'm absolutely delighted with a point from Brentford away, one more point than we've ever got.
Finally Gary someone that thinks the same as me about the game.... Everything I read in other places were saying dreadful game... Poorline up, crap football, PAC man was rubbish Antonio is awful blah blah sack J-LO..... I thought it was scrappy but entertaining game and didn't know which way the game was going to go.... COYI's!
Perhaps we're easily pleased Randy, but at this stage I'm looking for improvement and a few points. Yes it wasn't "brilliant" as I said, but it was compared to Chelsea, which is kinda what I meant. Also, the manager is clearly changing the pieces around slowly and from a defensive standpoint I was actually delighted with the second half. I thought Mav on the right was excellent as was AWB on the left. I've always said that I have doubts about Emerson as a defender, mainly due to lack of pace. Paqueta was good once Kudus went off and Antonio worked his socks off. So yeah it was scrappy but there was some moves where the front players were neat and tidy, some great inter-play and the second half commitment was fantastic to see. Anyway, I need to grow a thicker skin with this stuff because when you are just being honest about stuff, sometimes you get shot down whereas if you just lean towards the accepted narrative you get an easy ride. Honesty rules!!
Happy with the draw but really pleased with the performance. That looked so much better than anything we have seen this season so far , long may the improvements continue. Soucek and Antonio did well today so the haters can back off 😉⚒️❤
I think people have got the wrong idea about Rodriguez. Although he showed his passing, vision and ability on the ball in his early games that is not why he plays for the national team, he is there for his defensive qualities with paq the player beside him he was there to anchor midfield and played very conservatively, in possession it was mainly simple passes to the playmaker (paq), defensively he was one of our strongest players - as expected he dominated tackles and clearances for us today and kept the ball ticking towards the players who are suppose to make a difference he wasn't found out by the brentford manager, he just wasn't playing the type of game many thought he was, he was there to anchor and protect the defence, that was his sole responsibility
Mate sorry to say this I have never listen to your channel but I have got to say you nailed it ! I agree everything you said. No negativity. I like your evaluation of the game.
Lot's of energy coming off you - I can tell you enjoyed the game!😉 I was encouraged by parts of our performance and I agree there has been some improvement. I think we need time to learn from experience/mistakes and get things right. I'm feeling more confident that we can pick up and clock up some wins and turn in some exciting football. Really looking forward to the next game against Ipswich. ⚒
Hopefully he builds on the clear positives from today. Think it’s ok to try stuff to begin with, but at some point you need to establish your team and consolidate successes
Honestly Gary I dont think you have to pin an explanation to justify your thoughts because of a couple of so called experts. I wouldnt rise to the bait. As far as I can see 99.9% of comments are all on board with the channel and there are also constructive opposite views as well. I agree a better all-round performance - which isnt actually too difficult after last week. We have to start matches from the first whistle though especially against a side who had just scored in the first minute their previous two games - had we not still been in the tunnel for that goal then we would have probably grew into the match and taken 3 points. Still masses of work to be done though and until Fullkrug is 100% we have to come up with something in front of goal, Antonio put in the effort but he is not a natural finisher.
Nice to hear your bubbling and realistic account for today's game MR G. I'm sure they'll be many negative views on other platforms,.but not here on this podcast. RESPECT TO YOU!!!
Gary, it’s always advisable after a game to have a little time to contemplate on what you have seen. I get your enthusiasm feeling high after getting a point, in a trouble start to the season. Your adrenaline is high, you comment, your enthusiasm gets trolled in the comments. Great passion you can’t knock it. In truth it was a scrappy game on reflection. I’m a referee and the advice to managers at every level is. Give it 30 to 40 mins before you approach the referee for comments. Tempers and opinions may have calmed during that time. It does work I’ve seen it in action. Keep up the good work
Hi Gary mate Soucek is a bread and butter player imo use him to his obvious strengths he will do well! give loppi time, we have no record in the Prem against brentwood, very impressed with the point really, now 3 against Ipswich please! take care now John...
Glad it helped a bit. Just don't see the point in being negative until we really have something to be negative about. I think some people expect perfection but that's unrealistic
Great Show! I agree we are being to harsh on this manager and we have to stay the course and he did not have the whole squad together before we started the season. He is having to find his way with a new team and they have to learn to play together. As for Moyse I still think it was the correct decision to get rid of him. His lack of tactical judgement clearly put us at a disadvantage and this new manager will do well this season.
Not saying he's the right man long-term and yesterday wasn't good but our malaise started well before the appointment of the new coach - it won't be fixed over night esp with so many new players which we had to get in as the squad was bare. At the very least they battled and seemed to care and he's open to trying newer things & willing to sub unperforming players which previously never happened.
Hi Gary good point mate don't care what people say away points in premier hard to come by, early in season still i think it will come together for yous ,wegot good point against city today a better performance all round, enjoyed show mate keep it going and keep the faith yous will turn it rouñd.
Lopetegi has negated Bowen and kudos threat. He has reduced Bowen to a fraction of what he was last season. As for kudus, loppy has hinted that he was playing for himself not the team. If that's the case, he was still out best player on the pitch first half. The manager doesn't seem to have a clue.
@@elduderino7767 yh, last season when he was scoring and assisting. Why can't he do that this season?? Not even bowen is able to do so, that should tell you every single problem is tge coach
Great show again we will get there it takes time to many want instant gratification sadly that’s the social media world it takes time to rebuild a team took artefacts three years to start getting anywhere near top four
Good analysis again Gary and conclusion, my fear with Sullivan, or the board at the moment, is that they cave into this constant "not better than Moyes" narrative pushing for us to fail. Other new managers/coaches have appeared to be more of a media instant success with their clubs, but then they are not faced with this Lopetegui pressure for failure approach. He is making some strange decisions from the outside looking in, which maybe other issues inside the dressing room that we are not aware of, and if he lasts past Christmas, we will see in the next window, backing and changes, what those issues are. I do believe that if there isn't the negativity, and blame game culture within the club, between Steidten, Lopetegui & Sullivan, then our media team need to start showing something quickly as it can't be doing anything for the other WH employees moral, because if that backbone slips we are in trouble, they have been the one constant throughout the Moyes troubles and Lopetegui appointment questions, that has always been complimentary from each of the new signings.
@@GaryKillington I had a terrible stream during the first half, frustrated by constant freezing, but that vastly improved in the second half after switching provider. Because of that I couldn't form a positive opinion during that half, but second half I agree, there was a collective fight, albeit with those strange early double substitutions. Lopetegui is certainly forming a better picture of his preferred starting eleven and combinations of playing partnerships.
I admire your positivity Gary. Personally I thought it was total and utter crap yet again. He’s, yet again, the wrong man at the helm and we have some bang average footballers despite having spent a lot of dough over the summer. We are a shambles and if I’m honest I’ve now lost interest, which at 42 years of age having first had a season ticket as a 5 year old is a bit sad, but I’m tired of the lack of identity with the club, the ground is poxy, it’s run like a circus etc etc - it’s just not what it was as a kid / as a young man. Had to switch off 15 mins before the end as my son had a match. Should’ve left 75 mins early. I’ll always be a Hammer but I’m no longer that bothered with it as I’ve got better things to do than watch 90 mins of this dross every week.
You see Paul I'm not sure what game you watched to say it was utter crap. There was some really nice defending, some great inter-play and overlaps from the wide players. I thought there was some good passing moves with players actually moving into space for each other in the second half. Above all else, Brentford are the same team whether they have injuries or not, they get spanked by nobody. They generally win at home too, and if we'd faced that onslaught in recent seasons we would have lost. Our first point at Brentford ever. When I said brilliant I was clearly in my mind saying brilliant compared to what we've been watching, and I stick by that because it was to me anyway, a big improvement. I'd say 75% better than Chelsea barring the first 30 seconds. But it is also subjective and you are entitled to see the game the way you saw it, I'm not gonna call you wrong.
@@GaryKillington fair play and I’m certainly not going to call you wrong either - we’re all just opining over social media, which is effectively a bit of a waste of time, however it just wasn’t for me yet again. Basic errors - another early goal, lack of attention. I thought we looked disjointed throughout, lots of shots, however the majority of those were vague attempts that were pops at goal rather than having been created via creative build up play. He doesn’t seem to be capable of getting the best out of the players (he took the best one off at HT, Paqueta clearly has issues beyond the manager, Bowen massively out of sorts). We’ve spent 150 million to effectively play 5 yards higher up the pitch and we’ve still got a side relying on Soucek bundled goals and the likes of Mavropanos playing at RB. It’s just really poor, bordering on the clueless for me. This is absolutely not the reason why the majority of us wanted Moyes out. The football is still slow, laboured, lacks penetration (crap) and I’m sorry but Brentford are a mid-table side at the very best - particularly one ravaged by injury. If a point at Brentford is what we’re now aspiring to because we haven’t won there before under Moyes, then thankfully losing a bit of interest is going to keep me sane..
All about opinions, but I think taking the positives is a much healthier way of dissecting the game. Brentford away is a game we typically get nothing from, so surely that's a positive particularly after the week we've just had.
each to their own David, I wanted Summerville to start as well, but it’s all about getting points at this stage because without those, we are definitely screwed
Good solid point... And a good solid review Gal..... Refreshing mate after all the toxicity I have seen in the last week from comments in other channel streams. Not the other channels faults btw! Keep doin what you're doin pal 👍👍
Some improvement today and I think we just shaded it. 17 shots if I remember rightly and more than Brentford, but without stating the obvious, no one clinical enough up front. Antonio was knackered after about 60 minutes and needs to be an impact sub and Bowen is not an out and out striker. Wan Bisaka, Bowen and Soucek did well. Thought Dinos did well on the right. Wasnt impressed with Paqueta who again wasnt in the game enough
to be fair, we can;t really complain about lack of strikers when you take into consideration the bigger picture. We had lots to get rid of and replace in what i see, taking into account Bowen who could be used as an auxilary striker, more important areas at that instance in time and money. We got Fulkgrug who hasn;t had a good crack at the whip atm with A) having to settle in and B) Loppy experimenting. The latter made him more of a player there to put the ball in the net if and when the ball got to him. I saw the other games, Chelsea inparticular , as Loppy still trying out. Though the result stank. I am hoping now that today is that light at the end of the tunnel and Loppy has a far clearer idea of what he wants
Something decent against Ipswich Gary? This is West Ham we are talking here! I am only confident when the final whistle has gpne, and we have won the game. I also believe we were ok today, Going forward i want to see Kudus on the right with Bowen slightly forward pn his inside.
@@GaryKillington certainly a good result for them against AV on the weekend, If we are going to have at the very least a reasonable season then we have to win on Saturday.
We definitely do need to improve some more especially with our patterns of play in the attacking 3rd, but defensively outside the first 30 seconds a definite improvement and there was at least some good support play up top
Hi Gary I do hope our next performance at home is much better than last time. We must go for it from the start & get ahead. Brentford was a weaker team with injuries so I suppose a fair result today.
Disagree on some things but loving the positivity. We need a bit of that . Mavrapanos as CDM instead of Rodriguez. Was Rodriguez a Steidten signing? Can't believe that as that signing is a howler. No offence to the guy, he's just not a PL player despite his well earned international success.
Great video Gary Very good points But we should still be very concerned that we have a striker who is 34 years of age. Very worrying as his goal stats are pretty woeful.
Yeah, too many other channels only too quick to pile on the negativity and too many channels constantly posting videos of the same dross day after day after day. Only need a flea to shit at West Ham and there's a pod cast to cover it... 😂.. Keep up the great work Gary. Best channel by far...
Work in progress for me, was happy with the back line, Mavropanous looked a different player, passages of good play, thought Bowen was taking too much out of the ball, trying too hard to walk the ball in. Lots want them to fail, thought the Soucek comment he made was a very poor reflection on the club. Lots of drama queens and key board warriors should stick to FIFA Manager. Soucek had a very good first season, scoring regularly from Moyes ball. Moyes changed him with Rice because they had Rice in the shop window and needed Rice scoring goals. In the process Moyes destroyed Soucek’s confidence, hence the boo boys got on his back. Would expect Lopetequi to have a proper run in the FA Cup. Following the Hammers since 74, and just glad negative Moyesball is behind us.
Would have taken 1-1 before the game considering our recent showings, so job done. Improved performance. Not wonderfully convinced with hooking Kudus. Big plus points... Todibo and Soucek. Liked Pacman looking pissed at being hooked. Why should you look pleased? Overall feeling better than 3 days ago. A win next week is a must for me and then I wouldn't be so worried about Spuds after the international break.
I thought the first half was a bit boring but in the 2nd half we came alive. I agree with AWB on the left was excellent, Toddy and Dinos were fantastic in this game. Soucek, again clinical in front of goal. I'm not upset about the Kudus sub, he can be greedy and times and never seems to look up and pick players out. I think Micky should be on in the 2nd half when you have tired legs on the pitch
I was fuming when Kudus was hooked at half-time but then calmed down when I realised we were far more cohesive as a team without him on, I'm not saying we should not play Kudus every game but maybe hooking him now and then might teach him to be more of a team player.
Brentford have 9 registered first team injuries. West Ham are terrible and would’ve been picked apart if they had Norgard/Wissa. Lopetegui is a busted flush.
I don't get your point. They did well against Spurs last week with lots of injuries. To me they looked like standard old Brentford and could easily have beaten us if our defence was weak. They are a good team at home irrespective who they've got to choose from.
as a striker he is. As someone who bashes up defenders and holds up the hall, he does what it says on the ton. If he does his job not sure we can expect more from a 34 year old
@@TheGrumpyChairman although it was clear from the start what Iraola was trying to do, and that the players all bought into the change of system, neither of those are clear with Lopetegui particularly the first. His half time (and before half time) substitutions suggest he's not very good at picking a starting lineup. Also, going back to Iraola's start at Bournemouth last year he was pretty close to starting with a win - against us.
lop is clearly still discovering his players, thought mav was really good on the right you can see how much emerson loves it when coufal plays, poor bastard gets targeted whenever AWB is defending the other flank hopefully mav can continue to perform at right back, opposition can't expect much success from either flank with both awb and mav defending - and with rodriguez/alverez in the middle i think the defensive concerns will evaporate, just need the minutes/confidence as a well drilled unit, defensive ability is off the charts
@@tonyfarrelly1432 I'd say it suggests Lopi is experimenting. Some are suggesting he finally found his best back line yesterday. (And Bournemouth's rebuild was nowhere near as fundamental as ours)
@@GaryKillingtonhe is not afraid to bench bowen?? Bowen is the most useless player in the team for the last few matches yet he doesn't bench him. Bowen is playing his favourite position and he doesn't do anything there, kudus is playing in an uncomfortable position yet he tries more than bowen. He is scared to take off bowen so don't talk about he is not afriad
@@GaryKillington what has bowen done?? Paqueta even plays better than bowen. Bowen does try anything, put him in kudus position and let's see what he does, bowen can't even play well in his so called favourite position. Wven the refereee tries better than bowen
Hi Gary, To be honest you saying that was a brilliant performance was the last thing I was expecting you to say, may be this says a lot about where we are right now. Love the channel but we are certainly not in sync about this today mate ⚒
see pinned comment. Sadly mate, I press record and say what comes to mind. If you are gonna take a word and not bother watching the rest of the video that explains why I was positive, that is fine
@@GaryKillington Just sat and watched this video (in full) for a second time just in case I misunderstood something the first time (which I didn't). Worth noting I am always respectful to you and all West Ham YT channel presenters.
@@BigAl-q1x Gary made some good points which are worth listening to - you're getting the opinion of a mature fan who's seen decades of us playing. I sometimes listen again to videos whilst I'm grafting - we don't all sit about thumb twiddling! 😉
He held the ball up well and covered a lot of ground. He isn't really a striker now is he, so I think if he puts in as much effort as he did I find it difficult to dismiss him as crap.
Ok, so many are already JL out. Realistically, who would you want to replace him? Candidates must be available and would come to West Ham, if they had the chance? Who do you want? Realistically?
@@GaryKillington thanks Gary, for your thoughtful and measured commentary. Yours seems to be the only channel that has not gone JL out crazy, which is why it's the only one I'm watching for now. JL has not made the start we wanted, but as you have already highlighted, look at who we've played. I will get a little itchy if we don't beat Ipswich, but JL needs time. I agree with you about Potter. Too much of a datasheets guided manager.
Great vid Gal and a good point against a team we normally struggle against best performance for a long while if Loppy and the team keep this up then maybe we can start to believe again. COYI ⚒️

Off the bat I was very happy with the defence they need to form a bond now

I agree a better all-round performance - which isnt actually too difficult after last week. We have to start matches from the first whistle though especially against a side who had just scored in the first minute their previous two games - had we not still been in the tunnel for that goal then we would have probably grew into the match and taken 3 points. Still masses of work to be done though and until Fullkrug is 100% we have to come up with something in front of goal, Antonio put in the effort but he is not a natural finisher.
thanks Ross, yeah I know, I wouldn’t usually but I am away for the night and didn’t wanna sit there on youtube all night
Was relieved at the end with a point. Kudus, luca getting hooked was confusing..tbh I'm confused with what's the plan is ⚒
I’m not sure there is a plan 😂
Nice one Gary! Good (measured/old 😁) perspective on the result. Well done matey. Wise words.
Thanks MrDCG
Now that is how to do a review. Talk about the game, describe what you saw. Good work.
Thanks mate, it's the only way I think
Look it's a good point after a poor start. Let's build on it and take some positives from not bloody losing for a change!.
Yeah first point at that stadium, Adam
Nice to hear your bubbling and realistic account for today's game MR G. I'm sure they'll be many negative views on other platforms,.but not here on this podcast. RESPECT TO YOU!!!
Thanks Dan, appreciate it
Good summary Gary. I couldn't catch the game so that was a useful perspective.
Cheers Phil, glad it helped
Gary, it’s always advisable after a game to have a little time to contemplate on what you have seen. I get your enthusiasm feeling high after getting a point, in a trouble start to the season. Your adrenaline is high, you comment, your enthusiasm gets trolled in the comments. Great passion you can’t knock it. In truth it was a scrappy game on reflection. I’m a referee and the advice to managers at every level is. Give it 30 to 40 mins before you approach the referee for comments. Tempers and opinions may have calmed during that time. It does work I’ve seen it in action. Keep up the good work
No Malcolm, I still feel the same, I enjoyed the game, I won’t apologise for that
A Scrappy Point Could Be The Start Of Something
Indeed!
Agree
Level headed response Gary, another good video
Thanks Scott, appreciate it
Hi Gary, pleased with the scrappy point after the dreadful start. ⚒
Yeah I think we should be pleased with it really, first point ever in that little stadium
Hi Gary mate Soucek is a bread and butter player imo use him to his obvious strengths he will do well! give loppi time, we have no record in the Prem against brentwood, very impressed with the point really, now 3 against Ipswich please!
take care now
John...
Yeah all about the points at the moment tbh John, until the side is settled.
I just didn't get it today but you've managed to make me see it a bit clearer and give a bit more positive an outlook. 👍
Glad it helped a bit. Just don't see the point in being negative until we really have something to be negative about. I think some people expect perfection but that's unrealistic
@@GaryKillington Agree, it just seemed a bit chaotic.
You're doing a great job ,Gary . Just saying .
cheers Jose
Yes he is, exactly that. It takes time.
Hi Gary, blimey I thought it was awful. Very slow and laboured. Not much threat up front. Another very hard watch.
Everyone sees games differently hitech, I thought compared to recent games it was actually really watchable
Yes exactly that, the battling spirit was there second half and I loved that because I thought he'd lost the players. He clearly hasn't.
Hi Gary good point mate don't care what people say away points in premier hard to come by, early in season still i think it will come together for yous ,wegot good point against city today a better performance all round, enjoyed show mate keep it going and keep the faith yous will turn it rouñd.
Exactly Gary, no easy games in the Prem
Lopetegi has negated Bowen and kudos threat. He has reduced Bowen to a fraction of what he was last season. As for kudus, loppy has hinted that he was playing for himself not the team. If that's the case, he was still out best player on the pitch first half. The manager doesn't seem to have a clue.
I agree with Loppy actually, the guy never passes the ball, he is living off last season’s achievements and now he seems to think he can stop trying
@@GaryKillington did you watch the match?? He is always isolated who does he pass to??
you need to watch any game last season and then try to say that again
@@elduderino7767 yh, last season when he was scoring and assisting. Why can't he do that this season?? Not even bowen is able to do so, that should tell you every single problem is tge coach
Great show again we will get there it takes time to many want instant gratification sadly that’s the social media world it takes time to rebuild a team took artefacts three years to start getting anywhere near top four
Thanks Griff, yeah I agree totally
I thought there were lots of positives - I think better than under Moyes and he’s only just started - I think something good is about to happen
I think so too mate, just gotta give it time
Good analysis again Gary and conclusion, my fear with Sullivan, or the board at the moment, is that they cave into this constant "not better than Moyes" narrative pushing for us to fail.
I agree Bill, the man is not getting any help but at least the players are on his side - they were fighting hard second half
Good point in the end he is getting there slowly Gary
Definitely an improvement John, for sure.
funny how some think it was good and others didn't. anyway new manager new players takes time to gel.
All about opinions, but I think taking the positives is a much healthier way of dissecting the game. Brentford away is a game we typically get nothing from, so surely that's a positive particularly after the week we've just had.
Very philosophical, Gary. I still can't get over the starting 11 though. Summerville should start now and Kudus on the right.
each to their own David, I wanted Summerville to start as well, but it’s all about getting points at this stage because without those, we are definitely screwed
Good solid point... And a good solid review Gal..... Refreshing mate after all the toxicity I have seen in the last week from comments in other channel streams. Not the other channels faults btw! Keep doin what you're doin pal 👍👍
Agreed. Brentford away is a game we typically get nothing from, so surely that's a positive particularly after the week we've just had.
Thanks Dean, we have never actually got a point in the league there
We always start too slow either side of kick off
Yeah I know, has to stop Barry
Antonio was shocking
Not for the job he was asked to do - bash up defenders and hold the ball up
good summary gary!
Thanks John
Thanks
thanks Billy
Some improvement today and I think we just shaded it. 17 shots if I remember rightly and more than Brentford, but without stating the obvious, no one clinical enough up front. Antonio was knackered after about 60 minutes and needs to be an impact sub and Bowen is not an out and out striker. Wan Bisaka, Bowen and Soucek did well. Thought Dinos did well on the right. Wasnt impressed with Paqueta who again wasnt in the game enough
Improvement is all I’ve ever asked for tbh, and this was definitely it
Nice video Gary and as we all know it’s a game of opinions and mine is slightly different from yours but certainly there was noticeable improvement
And that's the way it should be Graham
Thanks Gary have a great rest of the weekend mate COYI 3 Points next weekend
Cheers Nathan you too
Just watched Ipswich v Villa and they are not pushover
It will be a tough game
No easy games in the Prem, but if we don't concede in the first 10 mins I reckon we'll do well.
to be fair, we can;t really complain about lack of strikers when you take into consideration the bigger picture.
He is gonna do some failed experiments but I wanna let this play out and see where it goes
Something decent against Ipswich Gary? This is West Ham we are talking here! I am only confident when the final whistle has gpne, and we have won the game. I also believe we were ok today, Going forward i want to see Kudus on the right with Bowen slightly forward pn his inside.
Well I think Ipswich will be good at home but not so good on the road, that's what I'm expecting
@@GaryKillington certainly a good result for them against AV on the weekend, If we are going to have at the very least a reasonable season then we have to win on Saturday.
At last some positivity . A good point from somewhere we never seem to get anything. Still need improvement but a step in the right direction.
Well it certainly needs to be, that's for certain.
Thanks mate and happy for people to disagree, not everyone can be quite as positive!
enjoyed game but Brenford had 5 players out. Should have been 3 points. On paper we are so much better. Need to get going. Need to start scoring
I know they did but it was really the same Brentford, irrespective of injuries they usually win at home and have played well in every game so far.
Away point is a positive, 3 points at Home next week against the tractor boys.
Onwards and upwards. 😊
COYI.
100% Paul
Great video Gary
Very good points
But we should still be very concerned that we have a striker who is 34 years of age.
Very worrying as his goal stats are pretty woeful.
yes we should David
Yeah, too many other channels only too quick to pile on the negativity and too many channels constantly posting videos of the same dross day after day after day. Only need a flea to shit at West Ham and there's a pod cast to cover it... 😂.. Keep up the great work Gary. Best channel by far...
Definite agenda out there for sure
I thought that was a lot better today
Yeah definitely a tangible improvement
I liked Mav on instead of coufal
100%, a huge step up in ability
Good take on the game gary⚒️
Thank you Pam
It is definitely a work in progress, absolutely is. Just gotta take the little positives.
Yeah I definitely would've taken a draw (I even got the prediction right which is not usual)
Second half was a huge improvement which is likely why I was buzzing at the end.
Not too keen on your Chelsea top, Gal 😉
PS Cheers mate, good stuff 👍
How dare you
The jury is still well and truly out on Loppy and the Ipswich game has gotta be nothing but 3pts ⚒️
Course it is, but I'm just saying we should give the guy a fair chance.
I was fuming when Kudus was hooked at half-time but then calmed down when I realised we were far more cohesive as a team without him on, I'm not saying we should not play Kudus every game but maybe hooking him now and then might teach him to be more of a team player.
Yeah Frazer we all were, but it worked. End of the day he got it right, as unlikely as it seemed
There isn't a cleaner background on RUclips 🔥
😂 he puts us all to shame!
I know, except for the missing sign
@@GaryKillington lool
Brentford have 9 registered first team injuries. West Ham are terrible and would’ve been picked apart if they had Norgard/Wissa. Lopetegui is a busted flush.
I don't get your point. They did well against Spurs last week with lots of injuries. To me they looked like standard old Brentford and could easily have beaten us if our defence was weak. They are a good team at home irrespective who they've got to choose from.
Gary happy with point got give loppy full season how people saying sack him not proper fans
So if we are adrift at the bottom at xmas you still want to give him the whole season? Proper fans whats that all about??????
Was listening on Radio London. They raved about Mavropanos. Not quite as enthusiastic about Antonio, I'm afraid. Paul Parker called him 'terrible'.
as a striker he is. As someone who bashes up defenders and holds
up the hall, he does what it says on the ton. If he does his job not sure we can expect more from a 34 year old
Nice one Gary
Cheers Stevie
I'll settle for that.
Cheers Ray
People forget that it took the bloke at Bournemouth until the end of October before he stabilised things.
absolutely mate
@@TheGrumpyChairman although it was clear from the start what Iraola was trying to do, and that the players all bought into the change of system, neither of those are clear with Lopetegui particularly the first. His half time (and before half time) substitutions suggest he's not very good at picking a starting lineup. Also, going back to Iraola's start at Bournemouth last year he was pretty close to starting with a win - against us.
lop is clearly still discovering his players, thought mav was really good on the right
you can see how much emerson loves it when coufal plays, poor bastard gets targeted whenever AWB is defending the other flank
hopefully mav can continue to perform at right back, opposition can't expect much success from either flank with both awb and mav defending - and with rodriguez/alverez in the middle i think the defensive concerns will evaporate, just need the minutes/confidence as a well drilled unit, defensive ability is off the charts
@@tonyfarrelly1432 I'd say it suggests Lopi is experimenting. Some are suggesting he finally found his best back line yesterday. (And Bournemouth's rebuild was nowhere near as fundamental as ours)
@@elduderino7767 That is a good observation actually
Loppy is pissing Kudus off
Loppy is not afraid to substitute anyone including Bowen, Paqueta and Kudus. And that is healthy tbh
@@Bra_wroboht He doesn't try more than Bowen, nobody does.

Good question and Talksport are currently pushing Potter. No thanks!!
@@GaryKillington thanks Gary, for your thoughtful and measured commentary. Yours seems to be the only channel that has not gone JL out crazy, which is why it's the only one I'm watching for now.
