Those 5’s are almost free they are so good. I just wish they had a sapphire crystal because I have to be careful with them because I’ve become attached to a few of them.
I'm new to watch collecting and have been doing a ton of learning on brands, prestige, market worth, accuracy, and build quality. As I gain more and more knowledge, it's increasingly hard to not pick Seiko/Grand Seiko every single time unless you're at the elite AP/Patek level. Seiko/GS dials are out of this world, they're reliable and easy to service, and are priced so cheap that you could get 2-4 stunning ones for the price of one Rolex. It's like buying a Toyota back in the golden age of Toyota.
I’ve got 12 watches. 5 are Seiko, and one is a Seiko mod.

I just bought a Seiko 5 SKN 49 Automatic for £130 from my local Jewellers half price with this sort of price and the way Seiko builds watches I don't need anything else apart from A Grand Seiko at some point in time

I like simple thing, got my casio ca-53 few years ago and not planning to buy any other soon
Early on, I made a bunch of mistakes that I would just refer to his growing pains with my watch collection, however, it didn’t cost me very much because I’m also a bargain Watch shopper… I do have a nephew, expensive watches that most would consider luxury category… I like them however, I find much more enjoyment and finding the bargain… I don’t mind spending what money would consider a lot of money as long as it’s a deal! I don’t flip them, but it’s still my wheelhouse… I guess that’s a good thing because my collection is always 40+… And that’s even though I give away a bunch of gifts
I only have one Seiko, SRPD79, it was my first watch in 20yrs but now I just can't see myself getting another Seiko. I was at a Morgon Jeweler in Utah last week and they had a bunch of Seiko but the cyclops were not on square or the bracelet seems to need an improvement for the price. The new GMT were cool but yeah, I dunno. GS is another story, those are nuts to see in person.

in general avoid all other collectors and RUclips watch influencers. Blissfully buy and wear what you like and to hell with anyone else's opinions.
As someone who only buys watches from a handful of brands, I can safely say that I wouldn't care if you had a Casio watch or a Rolex watch, as long as you love wearing it and you don't care what other watches people wear then that's completely fine by me.

I dont see anything wrong with the flipper. I use collect cards and comic books. Which i still have most of my collection. But it feela good to find a gem for a low price and something in ur gut tells you its gunna be worth more some day. And when it does ,yhe feeling is awesome.
My theme is tool watches, as in essence, they are our tools that solely tell time. I am not beheld to my smartphone, so if I want my privacy, I can easily set it aside. More valuable than a RM, or Rolex.
I have all kinds. Every brand you can think of and they are all different.

Buy what you like. If you need to invest , buy gold and silver bullion. Would be a safer bet than a 100k Rolex. 🤷♂️
Lots of snobs in this hobby that only swear by ultra luxury brands, Rolex fanbois are not the only ones but they certainly are the biggest offenders haha. There are really great channels that focus on affordable brands, like Ben's watch club or Just the Watch. But they are still made by individuals who over time develop preferences for certain styles or brands that might not suit everyone so "don't be sheep" is what it comes down to haha. Your shorts are getting better btw !

i am a notoroius flipper - but not with hype watches and i dont make money out of it (im happy, if i can sell my strange ali express watches for 50% of the what i paid). but its just, that i love a watch.. wear it a few months, and then it bores me, and i want someting new. because im allmost allways stick to entry level watches, that dont break my bank ;)
