IU is South Korea's Princess she is loved by all, She is also an awesome actress and V has acted before also, V agreed to be in the video as a favour to IU and a gift for ARMY because he enlisted not long after the video was made, also IU was either suffering from pneumonia while making the video or she was diagnosed with pneumonia not long after the video was made.
V & IU are close friends in real life, hence the great chemistry between the 2. It took you guys long enough to recognize it was V🙂. IU is a well known and beloved actress/singer in Korea, she also has a talk show called IU Palette, where JHope, Suga, & V have guested & she has also done a song collab with Suga. The superb acting by the two, her haunting voice & lyrics that was so fitting for this video, made this one of the best MV's of the year❣💜💜

Over the years, many film/drama directors have been wanting him to be their main lead; however, Hybe rejected them all. I knew this mv was going to be excellent, but I didn't expect it to move we all like this. The tenderness (almost innocence?) between them was so disarming. And then the hopelessness of it all... I was so immersed that I could feel their fear and despair.. V and IU's acting and chemistry are so excellent. I loved the fact that Taehyung was not the stereotypical fearless male lead. That man was terrified (he acted it so well!!) and that made everything, including his moment of bravery, feel even more real.

Also, you could react to IU recording behind the scenes. She caught the flu on the 2nd day of shooting and recorded the vocals after. She’s on a tight schedule so she said she couldn’t put it off and it shows how much she really can hear and feel as determined as she is…not to mention her joking! I felt bad for her there! IU is Koreas princess. She is an actor too and V is an actor as well he has been in K drama. This video had me in tears. It was so beautiful. But my fav about this video was bulls reaction. I swear he didn't even look he was breathing. Or blink he was so memorized by it. We all want a kdrama from these 2 lol. I hope if there an award for MV she gets it. And the music itself. She's been in this business for 15 years and it shows. She is the amazing korean women singer I've ever seen. Both their acting was on point 5 stars sign a damn contract. No matter how many times I’ve seen this MV, it still gets me. It’s so powerful and well done. Their chemistry is amazing. Actually, Taehyung(V) is pretty good. He behaved well as usual, even though he did not sing, his acting overshadowed everything. Basically, he's an actor. He acted when he was in his early teens, or I think in his twenties, in the legendary Korean series Hwoarang. His acting was great, and we may see him in an act after he leaves the army, and IU is considered the best vocalist in Korea and among K-Pop fans. You guys are the best. Your reactions are amazing. Omgosh. No one explained much. To give you a brief idea, yes, V is blind in one eye, IU is mute or some think deaf, and the cube kinda represents destroying (not the best word) people with disabilities or society who thinks of people as too different. They run to hide in a wedding store. Through the video cam, they see each other the way they imagine as happy. As you saw, her gown is actually tattered when they run away. I’m not going to mention other things. I already suggested that you react to IU’s tv behind the scenes shooting of the MV. If you wish to hear V and IU sing together, they sang 1 of his solos when she interviewed him on her show IU’s palette. I already mentioned who else she knows and friends with in BTS. (Suga, JHope, (and also JK is a big fan of hers too). Suga has performed with her and both are also producers. Suga wrote and produced one of her songs. Her voice is so angelic I agree! V has acted in a kdrama in 2016 and won an award for his debut. Also he has done plenty of acting in bts. His character in the BU goes through a lot and his acting was amazing there as well. In IU’s palette V told us that he wants to do more acting but the BTS ‘no solo work’ policy and their busy schedule didn’t allow him time for it. Hopefully he will get to do this when they come back from the military. FYI, V said he’d like to do thrillers.
Such a beautiful and emotional video featuring amazing acting and vocals that makes the experience so personal. I really do hope that Tae & IU do other projects together both film and music as they have great chemistry and when he was on her show their voices also blended so well. Also at the end it was pointed out by someone that he can hear what is coming but she can't, while she can see what is coming but she covers his good eye so he can't. Both cry at the same moment though and from the same left eye. Also the right side of his face seems to have burn scars so maybe he had encountered a cube before but got away at the last minute. This cube was relentless in its pursuit and even seemed to change size so it could come into the building. Earlier when it was flying overhead you could tell no way it could fit inside those hallways. I also noticed the cube waits for them to stop fighting and accept their fate. If you notice there are no other people so obviously no person is able to meet the criteria this cube holds that would allow someone to survive. The camcorder that kept showing a better reality, was giving us the viewer a happier version of the events. They both rise in the air together, their bodies still solid, while the reality is that they have been turned to ash. At the top of the camcorder right before it turns off you see ash particles in the air. I also loved how the clothes landed together on the pile. Again all of this symbolizing that even though they seemingly lost to the cube, it couldn't destroy their love for each other. They stayed together in life and death, so indeed their love did win. I can't get enough of this MV, the acting is Oscar level and combined with the award worthy vocals and lyrics it's both heartbreaking but also heartwarming that at least they went together.

Lovely reaction! This MV is marvelous and so far I haven't found anyone whose heartstrings didn't get pulled by this. If you want to see how well IU's and V's voices blend together, you should react to IU's palette. It's similar to Suga's Suchwita and V promoted Layover there. They did a really lovely duet of IU's song Ending Scene there which really showcases how well V's voice goes with other singers. I really hope we get to see more collab songs with him in the future. His amazing baritone is still criminally underrated IMO. I really hope, he'll do a collab with IU in the future knowing how good they sound together. Her voice is angelic. Your comparison to a Disney princess really fits here. 😊

There is a behind the scenes out there showing the shooting of the video in bitter cold weather. On another video IU is doing the final recording of the song and is terribly ill, yet makes that song beautiful. Such a pro. The song is so hauntingly beautiful.

Here is some extra info about the music video... Director Um Tae Hwa released a guide explaining the MV and gave 4 Key points.
First, the "cube" signified the discrimination and oppression that are prevalent in the daily lives of the main characters.
Second, the "camcorder" represents the "lens of love," an important "device" that allows us to look at the beautiful things in the world beyond the internal or external appearance of the characters.
Third, IU and BTS V became the main characters in a "survival story of a dystopian worldview of someone who cannot speak and sees the world only through his left eye." Despite the difficulty, feeling hurt and exhausted, they relied on each other despite "cube" and tried to overcome it in the end.
Fourth and last, the "wedding dress and tuxedo" symbolize the "fruit of love." At the end where they are seen rising in the air, it depicts that they are finally "free to fly away from all kinds of oppression and pressure."

IU recorded the song AFTER 2 days of filming the mv in extreme cold. Her health was not best, with onset of flu. Her vulnerabity of sickness comes thru in the mv. They used her guide for the mv filming.

Just in case no one mentioned it, IU's company statement said the Cube represents society's judgment on imperfection. V is blind in one eye and she is deaf, both looked down upon in society. In the video they are the only ones left meaning the cube judged everyone to be imperfect because we are all flawed in some way. This was really surprising and watching them was amazing. OMG. Your reaction was awesome. How you didn't even know it was V!? Priceless.

If you guys haven't yet seen BTS' "I Need U"... it is a 100% MUST WATCH! You get to see all seven of them act their asses off and a first look at V's natural acting ability.
IU's character is mute and Tae's character is half blind and one theory is that the cube might signify the society that discriminates against them.
The characters may symbolize marginalized individuals. Before facing the cube, IU and V use a camcorder to envision their wishes, dreaming of a world without discrimination.

The pile of clothing is probably a reference to Art Piece that Tae's vocal group have used before - "The mountain of clothing in this scene resembles Christian Boltanski’s artwork Personnes, which touches upon themes of death and memory. Each piece of clothing can be seen as belonging to a (holocaust) victim with a life and a story. So many lives have been lost, and so the clothes form a mountain."
BTS made a MV 2017 which honored the victims of national trageldy of the Sewol ferry incident where 299 people lost their lives, mainly children. In that MV there is similar pile of clothes. You would enjoy reacting the MV and it's several layers of symbolism woven together. Just to mention some of them : it has movie reference, it had a literature references and it has this art reference.. You have heard the song but I did not see you reacting to the MV of Spring Day.
