@@MitchMeetings I think the executives at the show have developed poor judgment of what is funny. Except for the cold opens, a lot of the skits are forced and repetitive.
The end of this made me laugh harder than anything on SNL in a while, especially his slo-mo running away. Just Andrew Dismukes at his most absurd and at his best. I loved it. I'm always glad when the show remembers how much he has to offer.
There are loads of them around the world. Nintendo closes down any dangerous ones that use official names but there are still tons that do a good job on private tracks and on real roads.
I love it. this is perfect. Whenever Marcello and Andrew do a sketch together it gets mental. can't believe this got cut for time. maybe if the boring cold open wasn't over ten minutes long this actual comedy could have aired.
This sketch was not only funny...they took the time and money to prerecord it. Why did it get cut from air? It is much better than a couple that did air.
@@Scipio488 What? They determine the final run of the show on the day of taping. The prerecorded packages are by far the more intensive and expensive productions of the show, and as such, are preapproved and slated for air ahead of time. Everything else gets slotted in around them. Only in rare cases (once was a legal issue with music) do they get on the day. So I ask again, how could this obviously funnier sketch get cut, when at least two of the live sketches were duds?
Well I think in a pre-internet era the calculation might have been different. And even WITH the internet, SNL didn't really start putting the entire show (plus extras) online until about 3-5 years ago. After all those Lonely Island and then more recently Please Don't Destroy hits, they realized they could have a "broadcast" strategy and an "online strategy" that basically is bigger overall than either one on it's own. So I think they're working the combo-pack. This my thinking, but I've sold a tremendous amount of stuff online in the last 20 years, so that's how my marketing eyes see it. And of course the most rudimentary thing; it's impossible to know what the live run time is going to be, until it happens. So you have BOTH; pieces you can squeeze in if you have extra time, and pieces you can cut if you go long.
50 years! How many comments this season are going to say SNL was better back when…? How many that x is an underrated cast member? How many are going to say the current skit isn’t funny? Thank you, SNL, for making me laugh, even if not with every single skit!
It's going to be a good chunk, some of which can be seen in the comments for this episode's sketches. Oh, and don't forget: "Weekend Update is the best/only good thing about this show" or any variation thereof.
I remember SNL back in the first season, when it was just SN. No, it wasn't funnier than today's SNL. People just remember it that way. In fact, do a taste test. On Peacock, watch an episode from Season 1, then one from Season 49. You'll very quickly see that memory plays tricks.
This is a pre-recorded video (as Cut For Times often are). Those are much easier to simply Not Air, than a live sketch that has sets, costumes, etc, already prepped.
Agreed, the Charlie XCX sketch was awful. Then again, they didn't give Mrs. Smart much to work with either. She was not able to shine, shame on them for wasting such talent on the 50th opener.
I love these sketches where everything starts out normal and escalates to insane levels 😂
Clearly Mario Cart goes zero to 60 when needed 😊
That's kind of 80 percent of the sketches now.
such a journey!
Very Tim Robinson
I kept waiting for Jason Voorhees to shoe up.
This is a total Beck character, but Andrew nailed it.
Beck definitely would have been better but he did good at it.
He got fired because he didn't want to use the bathroom all the way down the hall.
I said the same! Def Beck coded.
Beck quit to be with his family
Agree. Also Miss beck wat a talent he was 😢
When he got into the mario cart and tossed the banana peel...so funny 😅😂😂
"Shut your face Linda, at least my husband came!. " ...😂😂😂😂
i was waiting to see where that one went
To the game… and between the sheets. 😍
Twice if you count last night. Am I right? JAJAJA
It sucks but it matters 😂
This never should've been cut for time. This is father of the year material.
I watched the show. Did not see this. Cut for time, you're right!
I think they should have shaved some time off of the cold opening to include this.
@@LordDuffyeah I was disappointed that the political parts were so long and then it only felt like a couple of sketches were actually in the show.
What this was best thing from all clips I have seen. how was this cut?
@@MitchMeetings I think the executives at the show have developed poor judgment of what is funny. Except for the cold opens, a lot of the skits are forced and repetitive.
The banana peel was a great touch...lol
Until that happened, it was merely a good sketch.😂
For sure haha. Dismuke's cocky face while tossing it followed by an immaculate prat fall by th cop. Bravo.
😂😂😂 I was gonna give that sketch a 5 but the banana peel bumped it up to an eight 😂😂😂
Yea that got me haha
The banana peel enabling him to escape sealed the deal
The end of this made me laugh harder than anything on SNL in a while, especially his slo-mo running away. Just Andrew Dismukes at his most absurd and at his best. I loved it. I'm always glad when the show remembers how much he has to offer.
How was this cut for time, this was the funniest sketch 😭
this was so good!! all the cut for times are usually the best
The cold opening ran long.
I agree. Most of the skits were awful. It wasn't worth all of Jean's wig and costume changes.
The cold open went on for 13 minutes when it could have been 6
@@superrazor7617Agreed that one dragged on too long and except for a few moments, wasn’t funny at all
THIS WAS CUT FOR TIME???! Easily the best sketch.
Pretty sure it was because the cold opening ran long. But hey, it's on RUclips.
Some of the best sketches don’t even make it on the show? Dismukes killed it in this one!
Feels like a Beck Bennett character but Andy crushed it
Love it when everything comes together in the most unexpected way possible.
Dismukes has some real Tim Robinson energy in this sketch. Fantastically absurd. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Tim was my first thought too.
Sometimes SNL hits it out of the park: this is one of those times!
I see what you did there.
Whoever wrote the banana peel gag deserves an Emmy!
That little second of time totally made the the whole thing
I love how a Mario themed idea made it's way into this sketch.
Like a spiritual successor to Andrews beanie babies sketch.
I thought the same thing the second I heard Mario Kart! 😂😂😂
I guarantee someone saw the IRL Mario Kart car at a store and dreamed this sketch up XD
Okay but real life mario kart is a 10/10 business idea
until Nintendo's lawyers pay you a visit
You can do it in Japan and Berlin. Not the weapons of course but you get to dress up as them and ride on the street.
There are loads of them around the world. Nintendo closes down any dangerous ones that use official names but there are still tons that do a good job on private tracks and on real roads.
I would "play" every day!
@@Hyde_HillYou can do it anywhere, just as long as there is no profit from it.
I love it. this is perfect. Whenever Marcello and Andrew do a sketch together it gets mental. can't believe this got cut for time. maybe if the boring cold open wasn't over ten minutes long this actual comedy could have aired.
When he juked the cops ..had me rolling laughing ...solid moves lol
3:10 the whole bit with the banana peel was perfect 😂😂
Best sketch in quite a while. Good absurd turns & callback. Bananas..
Why was this sketch cut? It was hilarious! Especially the Mario Kart escape at the end!
The SNL writers are great at these stories with a weird twist. I never saw any of that shit coming. Laughed my ass off!!!
This was definitely the best skit this episode
Agree, and it didn't air
I thought the spicy novel writer writing a school text book was pretty freaking hilarious.
@@diffugerenives Wow thats both surprising and disappointing!
@@Ny5us yea that one was great!
Yes.
oh my god it reminds me of the holiday one where the dad bought a new car and lost all their money😂 jean was great in this!! so was andrew
The "apparently you can't give compliments anymore" audience reaction was great
...get aaaaall your jewelry out, and see where we're at" 😂😂😂
This feels like a "I think you should leave" sketch 😂
2:35 Umpire giving that dude the side eye. 😆
I love Andrew 😂😂 he's always so good
SNL, don't you ever cut Dismukes!
Dismukes has really gotten good at the " everyman " role over the last few years, he's valuable to the show. And adorable too.
I liked both of Andrew’s sketches this week. Him trying to put fajitas down cracked me up!
First solid laugh of season 50! Loved the finishing banana bit!
Have a wonderful weekend y'all
Thank you, you also 😊
This is so much better than any of the sketches that aired.
Didn’t make the show?? … very funny sketch! Should’ve kept it!
I wonder if Marcello played ball. That HR swing looked pretty nice.
Did Tim Robinson write this? That Mario Kart part sure feels like I Think You Should Leave.
They ripped off his style if not -it's clearly the exact sketch structure he does
Thought the same thing.
For sure. But to be fair, his sketches started off at SNL.
“It’s in a bag, you don’t know what it is!”
Fuck yeah. Andrew rules.
Love when the “I think you should leave” writing style leaks into the show :)
The way she blinks when he says you can't give compliments anymore
This video brought tears to my eyes.
It's so stupid is funny. 🤣
I was 10 when I first saw SNL in 1975. They've still got it.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry."
"Thank you."
"No, I mean I'm sorry that that's your son."
lol
That is totally something I would do,lol...
Andrew is my favorite cast member.
Wow. Very powerful thank you. Honest. Honoring the pain. Well done.
Beck Bennett is very missed in these kinda sketches but wow Andrew is living up to his hype!!!
Dismukes was the mvp of this sketch great premise.
This cast is big on mario kart references, did a whole mario kart movie skit too
The best SNL sketches are the ones that veer off to an unexpected ending.
This had me rolling on the floor. LOL
This sketch was not only funny...they took the time and money to prerecord it. Why did it get cut from air? It is much better than a couple that did air.
Precisely because it was prerecorded, rather than a live sketch, which the production is already built around. how does nobody here get that...?
@@Scipio488 What? They determine the final run of the show on the day of taping. Lmao I laughed so hard watching this❤
That was crazy and I loved it so much.
GREAT ONE!!! Classic, simple, super funny. GREAT ONE!!!!
“Quit, fired…” lol
Tomato, toematoe
This sketch is literally an instant classic. No fat, just fucking good writing and acting.
M. Night Shyamalan looks on with envy at this sketch.
They shoulda saved this sketch for Fathers Day weekend -- AWESOME!!!

@@canaisyoung3601 yeah, that one, too. (It is my favorite segment!)
Excellent. Sorry it was cut from the broadcast.
Andrew Dismukes bringing that Tim Robinson energy as usual
How did this get cut, but Charlie XCX talk show air? More laughs in this piece. Kent, Ali, and Streeter, please read the scripts.
Fair point. They need to iron out some wrinkles.

Ok the banana peel took me out.
The best sketch of the night. Andrew was great.
The drawing is gold 😂
The go kart, banana and head turn with the thumbs up sealed the deal lol.
That was actually funny 😂👏
This is like a Caleb Hammer episode. The layers of bad decisions just get deeper with each passing minute.
Why does a mustache suit Dismukes? 😂
This one was cut for time? It was like the best one I've seen so far from this episode.
When he drove away in the little Mario cart 😂
Cut for time?!! This one was great!
The banana peel makes this all work at the end. 😂
Best skit of the night.
That's the coolest dad ever. Of course you'd want him at your game!
Andrew needs to be in the next season of ITYSL
Yay, a few good sketches tonight at least!
Dunno why but just hearing Jean Smart say the words 'Mario Kart' made me laugh!
No her "ohmygod" when he pulls out the paper 😂
3:03 was hilarious with the both them and the cops watching the hit
I'm glad he's still the #1 Mario Drawer
real life mario kart would be goals ngl
It wasn't a laugh a second, but it's still great sketch. Good writing, great delivery, and awesome imagination.
Why dads not showing up is the greatest blessing of all ❤❤🙏🙏
I thought his dad was going to be Jason Voorhees because of the Crystal Lake banner 😂😂😂
The ending was perfect
That ending perfect
Andrew Desmukes has become one of my favorites!
This was funnier than any of the sketches that aired last night.
😂This was freaking hilarious! 👍🏼👍🏼
Best skit this episode
This should have more views
this was cut for time for 5 sketches that all bombed lmao
Not a banana! That’s hilarious 😆🤣😂
This feels like a Tim Robinson bit
Andrew nailed it
"get on the bag brandon" energy, i love it
Okay that was awesome
The 🍌 peel at the end made this fking sketch. 😂😂😂
Andrew throwing the banana peel and driving away in the tiny Mario kart was brilliant 😂
