    great videos , made me laugh a few times especially when it almost took off at the first ride lol , but very good videos my brother just picked the exact same one up for 200 bucks " just needed the carb cleaned adjusted" but the only other thing is the high switch we haven't figured that out yet it doesn't work low does but, when we get it tore apart to look at it these videos will be our go to guide for that , thank you ride on ...

    Holy Crap! Great series, a real labor of love. You really earned my respect as a mechanic and videographer. I just picked one up that came with handfuls of parts off the bike, and a seized piston. In the process of getting it back together and finally checked out your videos, and they will save me some time and head scratching for sure! BIG THANKS from Chilliwack BC.

      Great! Thank you for the recognition. It was a lot of work making the videos. But I did it to help you and others so it won't be as hard for you as it was for me the first time.

    Kurtis, I assume that you have already checked out the spark and timing. Here are a couple of ways to verify that your engine isn't getting fuel. 1. take of the air cleaner and squirt some carburetor cleaner into the carburetor (with choke open). Pull the starter cord. If the engine fires up and runs a little while and dies, then you have a fuel problem. you can also take out the spark plug and pour a very little gasoline into the engine or the spark plug. Then reinstall the plug and try it again. When you had the plug out, you could have let it rest on a ground like the cylinder head and pull the starter and look for a spark.
    When you cleaned the carburetor, was there gasoline in the bowl? If not, then turn the gas off at the carburetor and remove the two screws that hold the valve on. Now turn the valve on and see if gasoline flows out the valve. That will check if the hoses and tank are clear. Now look into the carburetor where you took off the valve. You should see a black gasket and a filter screen a little over 1/2 inch in diameter. Make sure the filter screen is not clogged up with rust and dirt. If it is clean, then your float valve could be stuck closed. That will stop the fuel from getting into the carburetor. You will need to clean it so it moves freely.
    If there is gas in the bowl, then it's not going through the carburetor to the engine. There are two jets that you need to clean. Take off the bowl and look in the middle of the carburetor for the main jet and remove it. Make sure that the hole is clear. This one will be easy to clean out. There is also an idle jet which has a very small hole and is difficult to clean. On the 1979 and 1980 models (possibly the 1981) this jet is pressed in and the manual says not to remove it. But I don't know how else to clean it. So you will have to pull out the jet and clean out that little, tiny hole that runs through it.
    I hope this helps. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.

    Oh and also I bought a new carb for my 1980 Honda atc 110 and adjusted the pilot screw but it still is running to lean.

      Hmmm. If changing the carburetor didn't change the way it ran, let's look at something else. Are you running with a clean or new air filter? The 1980 ATC 110 is the last year that they had points. Did you adjust the point gap and set the ignition timing? Here is an ignition video that I made about a year ago when I first started working on these ATCs. ruclips.net/video/_jslRVNXs9M/видео.html How do the points look? Are they smooth and shiny? Good luck. Let me know what you find out.

    Real quick question, i have a lot of play with my clutch pedal to get it to shift up or down gears. Would this excessive play make it harder for it to go into another gear as well? Im having a little problem with my 110 shifting back up into gears, will try adjusting the clutch to see if it improves first but would like your experienced knowledge as guidance! Any feed back would be great and this series helped me out a lot on my nice honda

    • @SoCalBruce
      @SoCalBruce  10 лет назад

      I would try adjusting it first. Since you are commenting on this video, I assume that you saw the part on how to adjust the clutch. Actually, it's quite easy. If there is too much play, (assuming that the shift lever fits tightly on the shift shaft) then you can loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting screw left or counter clockwise until it stops, then turn it right 1/8 turn. Hopefully, that will do it. If you have to remove the clutch and check it out, It's not too difficult and you can remove it without taking the engine out of the frame. I show how in a couple of my ATC 110 videos. You probably should get a new side cover gasket first. Good luck!

      Thanks! The shift lever has some play in it so im going to try to get it to clamp better on the shaft

    Where do yo get the red and silver paint?

    • @SoCalBruce
      @SoCalBruce  10 лет назад

      The paint on the tank and forks is original. I did switch them from a parts bike that I have. Then I put a couple of coats of car wax on them. As far as the fenders, I cleaned them with soap and water and a couple of coats of armorall. And in the last video, I switch the back tires with another ATC and used a different can of amorall that supposed to give tires the wet look. I did paint the frame and some other parts black. Also the ATC looks better in the videos than in person. The back rims are aftermarket aluminum. But I do want to go back to the original rims after I clean them up. I'm trying to keep it original.

    Do you know where I can find a seat for my 110 81

    • @fornsphin
      @fornsphin 5 лет назад

      Keep your eyes open on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. You can also find them brand new, there are companies that still make them, on eBay for like $30-$50. If you're looking for the fenders too, you can also find those on there. (They'll be like $200-$300)
