    Evening Silas, I had a 1948 International KB8, it had a home made wrecker body, I removed the wrecker body, had a 5th wheel for it, that's not a Diamond T engine, they were either a red or blue diamond engines, if I was anywhere near you I would be buying that binder from you....
    Be safe, God Bless!!!

    Nobody commented on the KB having a lock only on the passenger side. Pretty common for the day. The thinkig was there was always mud on the driver's side and a sidewalk on the other, so you exited on the right. Grew up in Edmonton and lots of mud there.

    I know your in the scrapping business, but that KB-7 seems to nice to cut up. Have you ever had vehicles that you sold as whole. I think you have enough land you could put this and others that are complete on that property. And sell them as whole. Not everybody is building Stupid Rat Rods. Nor just wanting a Cab. That truck was born that way, it should stay that way. Thanks for listening. Didn't mean to vent like that. I just hate to see them get cut up. You have one of the better Junkyard type videos on RUclips. Take care.

    It's a 'Blue Diamond" engine, not Diamond T, my brother's '42 had a Green Diamond engine. If you look at the block, you'll see three diamonds embossed on it. The second truck, either 1/2 or 3/4 was like my brother's Forestry truck that had its original paint (1975).

    Why would I ever want to change,or take out the old Bumps in the top in the cab, I need some of those side gates, metal ones, nice things are hard to find, if it is a Diamond T it will say Diamond T on the side of the block, I have a red Diamond ♦️in my deuce and a half 10 wheeler LHead, and I have ol green dimond flat head they both have red Diamond ♦️, and the other one green Diamond flat head. Thanks BigAl California, this is the sam way I bind down my binders, yes and I use a bar on all of them, thanks BigAl California.

      @@AdventuresMadeFromScratch don't worry about saving the mirror heads. You can buy new aftermarket that look identical, and they're same as what 1/2-3/4 tons use. But the legs they mount to... different matter. You had to order those to come with your truck. No dealer orders or "lot spec" trucks got them, only pre ordered. So they're harder to find. They were worth saving even damaged they would've gone on ebay. I would guess lightly damaged legs would get 50-75$ plus shipping pretty quick. But hey I'll just bet they're the only thing you ever scrapped that everyone said you shouldn't right? Lol thanks for sharing - neat kb7 btw

    Carmakers need to emboss the vehicle's VIN number into catalytic converters to help with the theft problem. It would increase the cost of the vehicle but it would cut down on theft since scrapyards would need to be sure they're not found to be possessing stolen property.

    Just gave you a follow on FB. Went and hauled a car in last week that was loaded with scrap, and the yard rejected it. They are no longer taking them filled to the roof anymore cause some asshat brought one in with a load of concrete blocks hidden under the junk to bump up his weight. It pisses me off. Now they want to sit a dumpster at my place. I don't want to go that route cause they don't pay as good if they have to haul it.

    • @AdventuresMadeFromScratch
      @AdventuresMadeFromScratch  2 года назад +5
