Wow, this doesn't look like it's your first video at all. The editing and commentary are excellent, I really enjoyed watching this, despite disagreeing with your ordering. I hope you'll make more rankings in the future.
Have you seen the video featuring early test builds of the maps? Colorado was very different; much more like a modern farm, with large multi-level buildings, and automated processing sections, and machinery. Looks like it would have been challenging and cool.
i feel like by itself, the Carpathian Mountains mission is lacking due to its linearity. However, i played through the game in a single day so i had experienced the whole story. I feel like this made it better because its like, you've done good, here's a level with a bunch of guns and you can kill everyone with no consequence. Go crazy.
This is a brilliant video by any standard, let alone your first one! Well done. Very nicely edited, great voiceover content and excellent justification and reasoning. 9/10 👍
My Top 10: 1. Isle of Sgail 2. Berlin 3. Hokkaido 4. Chongqing 5. Mendoza 6. Miami 7. Sapienza 8. Paris 9. Mumbai 10. New York Special Mention : Whittleton Creek. The map & assasinations are not that good but I liked the overall vibe of this mission. Just a simple neighbourhood. Reminded me of that mission in Blood Money where you go in an American Suburb sprawling with FBI agents. Sometimes simple is good. You dont need over the top ideas just place Hitman in a simple neighbourhood & its still enjoyable.
Chonqing: Outside the arcade is a keycode-operated ladder that takes you to the bottom floor of the ICA Facility; right outside the hatch is an easy-to-pacify Facility Guard, the most powerful disguise in the building. I'd say that's on par with the tunnel in Marrakesh.
I had lots of fun watching this! I love the hitman trilogy and it was interesting to see your take on the maps - well done! Also my favourite is Miami personally :) Also I genuinely I had no idea this was your first video- it was amazing well donee!!
This is your first video?! Your editing, poise, and explanations made me feel like you've been doing this for years! I'm subscribing to you because of that, Here's hoping future videos are equally as interesting.
The problem with Colorado is that it only becomes good after you unlock a disguise start(which brings a problem of not being fun SO). I hated it at first, but when i grinded the silenced sniper I grew to enjoy it very much. Each target has interesting ways to kill them, both story and freeroam, and once you have free access to at least part of it, it becomes enjoyable to traverse
While I didn’t necessarily agree with every ranking of every map, I really liked this video and appreciate you putting the time in to make it! I will have to give Chongqing some more replays when I get the chance, and I couldn’t agree more with Berlin being as high as it is. It was satisfying to hear you say it was one of the best video game levels you’ve ever played because I feel the exact same way about it. Good video and I hope to see more:)
Dartmoor hits harder when you play the og mission that it takes heavy inspiration from. Beldingford manor I forget which game its initially from bc i admittedly only played the first two games’ maps via Contracts but my point still stands
Maybe next video you can rank all hitman targets' elusive targets' and side mission target based on their inclusion in their map and how they are as a character
Definitely plan to do the main and bonus mission targets at some point, though ranking the elusive targets could be a really interesting video too, thankyou for the suggestion!
Excellent video, I agree with a lot of your rankings although I'd put New York a bit lower personally. Also Chongqing has a ladder between the tunnels in Level -3 in the ICA Data Facility and the bottom floor of The Block so I think that counts as enough of a link as Marrakesh's tunnel.
Gotta love how we all agree to universally hate Colorado lmao. I do love the support for Chongqing on this list; I think there should be an option to disable the data core objective though.
Actually, I made an error in the video when I said that the data core wasn't optional - turns out it is only required if you start from the train station (which I basically always do). The point still stands though, as Royce can be just as inconvenient to access if not more so because of her loop. But yeah, Colorado can really be miserable at times lol
@@SAMUSUMA Mmm, that's very fair. Your review actually got me to boot up HITMAN 3 and play through Chongqing again and Imogen is indeed a bit of a pain to get to. Still, the mission story with her and the firing of three employees is a cool puzzle to solve for SA.
Berlin feels like the bit in John Wick where every other High Table member is hunting him down. I suppose its basically the exact same thing, now that I type it out
Your channel is going to blow up if you keep making videos like this. Absolutely agree with you on almost all of these. Very good editing and just a great video overall, keep up the good work.
Hokkaido also has the definitive best kill in the entire series: revealing your identity to Erich Soders, inducing a heart attack. Like you cannot tell me that isn’t absolute cinema
For a connection between the B2 level of the ICA underground facility in Chongqing and just outside Hush's lab on the bottom floor: You can actually use a vent near one of the server rooms outside the data core. You climb through and go up a ladder directly to Hush's hideout. The same vent structure is accessible from the floor above as well. Near the security and analyst working areas. I've definitely got a different list, but i love your explanations for why you choose what you did. This is a GREAT video. 🎉
"The submarine angle should be cut entirely." I don't fully disagree with you, but it does have the "submersible party bus" line and that's enough for me
I'm not really a graphics guy, but man, something about the areas in Hitman WOA trilogy is just so beautiful. Something about the lighting and just the overall feel to it, there's a really immersive feeling that I can't really describe. My most favorite areas to just hang around is Sapienza, Santa Fortuna and Mumbai.
thanks. I've seen people say this quite a lot, but truthfully I'm pretty inactive. Maybe one day I'll have some more videos out there though, we'll see!
I'm a Colorado apologist. I liked how much it experimented with the formula, and I think that trying to complete all the challenges gave me more of an appreciation of it. Not that I think it's an amazing map, just that I like the more experimental aspects of it more than I like some of the weaker conventional maps like Marrkesh. Even though I don't think it would be fair to rank it at the bottom, I think Sgail is probably my least favorite map overall. The whole scenario and tone came off as mostly silly to me, and then going through and trying to do the challenges and SASO it really hammered home how poorly constructed the map was and left me feeling incredibly frustrated with it. It's main saving grace is the absolutely amazing atmosphere it has.
That's completely understandable. I personally don't think it's that interesting, but as always, the map is very flexible in its difficulty depending on how you want to play (though admittedly less than others).
the quality on this video is truly remarkable the editing, song choices, and vibe of the video made this a very enjoyable watch. Its hard to have a 44 minute video with no dull moments but you did just that, great work.
Did not realize this was your first video till you mentioned it at the end. You’ve got a great career ahead of you, look forward to the future content…even if I couldn’t agree less with you on your #1 pick. Great vid man
This is why I love rankings of these maps it’s never the same list lol aside from maybe a few. Some maps are underrated while others are overrated but I do personally enjoy every map in this game except the train, story wise its good. That’s it
I would rank Dartmoor higher because it’s absolutely dripping with atmosphere and gorgeous level art. And I would rank Santa Fortuna and Chongqing lower. But overall agree. My number 1 is Miami, followed by #2 of Hokkaido. Impressive that this is your first video!
i love the atmosphere of Dartmoor. Wandering around the quiet, empty-feeling house, using the secret passage ways, etc. If there was a map I could live in for a day, it would be Dartmoor.
At first I wasn't too keen on Sapienza, because of the virus and how restrictive it felt getting to and destroying it. Pretty much everywhere else in the level was amazing but having to get the biolab card and get so close to it was an ordeal and I foresaw it getting old very quickly on replays. But as I played it again, I found more ways to get down there, found better ways to deal with the virus. From sneaking through the ruins, entering the lab from the back and shooting a stalactite above the virus to blasting the wall at 40:33 and sniping the virus from across the entire room, the virus went from a boring static object that you need to interact with to a genuinely enjoyable third target and now the only real issue I have with the level is how the plane is by far the best exit option due to how close it is to the virus, and how likely the virus is going to be the final target.
Amazing video, can't believe its your first! (at least - first one you have public) you deserve a lot more than 400 subscribers, and I really do hope you go on to make more like this, because this was genuinely the best hitman video I've watched.
Berlin is also my favorite map with others like Hokkaido, Paris and New York right behind it. It's really nice to see Chongqing rated so high. It's not an S tier map for me but a probably a high A tier. I love the map though and have fond memories of playing it. I think it's a really cool and unique map. Your list is really solid and I agree for the most part. I personally put Dartmoor much higher and Bangkok with colorado near the bottom. I really liked Dartmoor, but Bangkok just wasn't fun or interesting to me.
Amazing video, but I would say that isle of Segal is my favorite, because of all the pipes and ledges you can use to get to high places that would usually be hard to get to on foot without being seen. And for some reason, I really like the vibe I get from it. 😁
I agree with most of your placements except I would switch Berlin and Miami. I love the traversal of Miami and the lore of both Knoxes. Similar to what you said about Chonquing, on rainy day I just load up Miami and I am instantly in a much better mood. Plus it is my favorite map to play in VR.
Spending the entire Dartmouth level forgetting you’re an assassin and playing out a dream of being an old school tv detective is incredible. If they made a stand along Sherlock style detective game it would be phenomenal.
Colorado is probably my second favourite map in the first Hitman game (after Sapienza). I love its atmosphere and environment, plus the difficulty of traversing without a disguise in the start
Awesome video, I love the Hitman trilogy and I have really liked your video. I still disagree with the ranking sometimes but at least you had good arguments to rank them that way!
Thank you, that's nice of you to say! And disagreement is a good thing, cause it suggests to me that my opinions aren't spineless and generic by the least haha
I will agree that colarado isnt the best ioi has come up with during casual gameplay but i wouldnt consider it bad. It really does feel like you are infiltrating an area you do not belong with the stakes against being caught being possibly the highest in the series. Its basically a military compound with literally everybody on the lookout for intruders. The gates into the compound is guarded, the buildings inside the compound are guarded, they are even guarding the outside of the map. The silent assassin suit only is some of the most intense stealth gameplay in the series with the barn, house, orchard, and shooting range being obstacles you have to overcome while also feeling fair. The perimeter is your greatest tool you have on the map allowing you to leave tough areas and enter other hard to reach places with ease IF you have a lockpick or the key.
Hawk's Bay is probably the best opening to any of the 3 games (in my opinion). Reinforces the tutorial if you played it, works as a tutorial itself if you skipped it. Maybe im in the minority but i do like smaller scale areas sometimes, some of the other maps are huge. Simple and sweet
I agree. Also, I think it’s unfair to rank hawked bay as a main mission, because it’s clearly meant as a tutorial-like level. It’s a great setting with a quite scary vibe, and therefore I loved it.
Absolutely great video. The only criticism I have is more of a nit-pick: if you're not going to count the ICA facility maps, I think Hawke's Bay and Carpathian Mountains should also not be counted. They are there out of necessity, tutorial/lore maps mostly. The "last level" of Hitman 3 is Mendoza; the train is the epilogue.
The most cinematic, creepy, and cool assassinations for me are from Bangkok Mendoza and Dubai because standing behind Jordan Cross while he hears the audio of him killing his girlfriend and him begging for his life was creepy and disturbing in a good way. Trapping Ingram and Styvusent in a room with no way to get out while Grey speaks to them is cool and the part where you watch Diana stab Yates and finishing him felt very nice.
Good Video, I must say I went into this video expecting some wild takes, but I must admit that I genuinly agree with most of what has been said and even with the points that I disagree with, I can see where youre coming from. Berlin is one of my Top maps as well and Sapienza does hold up Amazingly for its age. However I absolutely adore Hokkaido, it is my favorite. Not too big, not too small. Not too confusing and diverse, but at the same time not too bland and boring, truly good stuff. Oh yeah and Colorado sucks, the only thing that map is good for is the sniper mission in the Virus campaing lol
Great rundown, good to hear someone else's reasoning. I find these rankings very interesting since they're so subjective with the baseline level of quality is so high. So a great way of learning about what other players prize and like to see. My top 3 levels would probably be: #3 - Paris #2 - Berlin #1 - Hokkaido
The Maelstrom is actually quite easy to find in replays... He ALWAYS starts at the same location and it is in range of one of the starting locations. Just start on the Skywalk and quickly move from the Skywalk's railing to the Metal-fence on the right of the stairs in front of you. The Maelstrom will always be the man with the guard walking into the little side-street. He is a very easy first kill if you don't exactly want to hide the body and you can easily switch back to a stealthy approach for the other two targets. Or just follow him and find something on the way...
the other great thing about berlin is it took the concept of 47 being hunted by other assassins of the ICA from absolution which is a cool idea that was done horribly and then actually did it practically perfectly in hitman 3, easily one of the best maps in not just the WOA but the entire series
I might be biased because I'm Colombian but I love how you think Santa Fortuna and Mendoza are pretty (to you) it makes me feel proud of not only my country but also my continent. Great video 😁 I pretty much agree with all of your positionings except for Haven island and NYC (cuz I don't have them xD)
Seen a lot of the Hitman map ranking videos, which I like a lot, one thing I would like to see is a ranking from the main story as you have done, in comparison as to how they rank in freelancer mode. For me, a lot of maps have changed my perception of them with Freelancer. An example of this would be that I am one of the few that didn't mind Colorado that much, but with Freelancer, I hate it more than any other map. Hokkaido also became quite a pain in the backside on freelancer too.
admittedly I haven't played much freelancer though from what I've seen that's a very good point because some locations are only low because of their weak main story missions. it's actually a really interesting angle to approach the maps from so i might make a list like it someday, and if I ever do I'll credit you for the idea
My all time favourite is definitively Miami. Whenever I scroll through the levels just looking for an idea of what to do next in the game, I always find myself gravitating to Miami. Naturally, it was the first map (other than the ICA facility and Hawk's Bay) where I completed 100% of the challenges. The level design is just so intuitive, diverse and fun - it is always abundantly clear which disguise will get you into what location and there is just the right amount of overlap to get a good progression, but not feel like there is one "all powerful" disguise like there is in the Isle of Sgail (the purple robe gets you nearly everywhere). It's also cool that it heavily encourages scripted elimination methods because of Sierra being in her race car while giving you an absolute sh*t ton of those opportunities to still play around with and feel sandbox-y (pit crew, podium explosion, killed by the mascot, struck by her own dad, etc.), but not _force_ the elimination method on you as you can still just shoot the car or wait until the race is over naturally. The only tiny criticism I have of the map is that is doesn't follow the absolut success formula of Hitman levels of one citadelled target and one free roaming target - but the open design of the level makes up for this as killing Sierra is basically the free roam target, but instead of following a target you're searching for the opportunity to get her out of the car. I also disagree on the worst map - for me it's Carpathian Mountains. Because while Colorado IS a sub-par list and I dread every time I have to return to it for a challenge or a new mission, it's still a very cool looking map that makes sense within the story and has tons of ways to get around, even if most of them are painfully difficult. But the train map is just plain boring. There is exactly two ways to play it: Stealth or all guns blazing. That's it. I couldn't even bring myself to replay the mission after I learned there was a secret ending where 47 would inject himself with the memory loss poison, because I didn't want to do the exact same things for the third time. So I just watched the RUclips video of the secret ending and played a little Miami instead...
Congratulations (edited) I had to watch this video again its just amazing. You explained EVERYTHING about EVERY location. I mean you are really good at it. If I was going to do this video i was going to get lost
Whittleton Creek is one of my favorite maps. The metal music in that one basement is really great. (Song is Mørke by Huldre in case anyone's wondering) Although it is the least Vermont looking suburb they could've made. It's too flat. It looks more like somewhere in Kansas.

Have you seen the video featuring early test builds of the maps? Colorado was very different; much more like a modern farm, with large multi-level buildings, and automated processing sections, and machinery. Looks like it would have been challenging and cool.
Had a look just now, gives me major Berlin/CSGO Nuke vibes, very neat. Interesting to think about how different Colorado could've been!
How do you find the video
@@jamesmoffett2316 Just search 'Hitman alpha', or 'Hitman 2016 alpha'.
i feel like by itself, the Carpathian Mountains mission is lacking due to its linearity.
Hell of a video to start a channel with. Can't wait to see more from you.
They’re all so great but the atmosphere in Hawkes Bay is amazing
My Top 10:
1. Isle of Sgail
2. Berlin
3. Hokkaido
4. Chongqing
5. Mendoza
6. Miami
7. Sapienza
8. Paris
9. Mumbai
10. New York
Special Mention : Whittleton Creek.
A fellow Isle of Sgail enjoyer I see
Wild take but okay 👍
So glad someone has finally made a video ranking all the maps and I’d say job well done… (Apart from Dartmoor)
have a look at the map rankings by TheKotti and AZHYMOVS if you want some similar high-quality rankings, their videos helped inspire mine!
Gonna have a look at this later, very interesting that I never noticed this
I had lots of fun watching this! I love the hitman trilogy and it was interesting to see your take on the maps - well done! Also my favourite is Miami personally :)
Also I genuinely I had no idea this was your first video- it was amazing well donee!!
Yeah I’ve only played it a couple times but honestly I love it
I could not have guessed this was your first video, great job!
Dartmoor take is wild
Dartmoor hits harder when you play the og mission that it takes heavy inspiration from. Beldingford manor I forget which game its initially from bc i admittedly only played the first two games’ maps via Contracts but my point still stands
There is no way u have 7 subs like holy shit this is a really good vid man keep going ❤ also I think Miami is the best map
Great map, and ty!
Fun Fact: Dartmoore is a love letter to the film Knives Out
Gotta love how we all agree to universally hate Colorado lmao.
@@mathmaniac3033 Oh yeah I didn't mention that, the mission stories on Chongqing are awesome!
Berlin feels like the bit in John Wick where every other High Table member is hunting him down. I suppose its basically the exact same thing, now that I type it out
youre right, theyre actually very similar except 47 doesn't go in guns blazing in the same way outside of that Montgomery confrontation
Am I the only one who goes to Sapienza just to hang out? I think Heaven must be like a lazy day in Sapienza.
Nope, absolutely love doing this in Sapienza and Chongqing haha
Your channel is going to blow up if you keep making videos like this. Absolutely agree with you on almost all of these. Very good editing and just a great video overall, keep up the good work.
This is honestly so good, congratz on making such an awsome 1st video!
Hokkaido also has the definitive best kill in the entire series: revealing your identity to Erich Soders, inducing a heart attack. Like you cannot tell me that isn’t absolute cinema
For a connection between the B2 level of the ICA underground facility in Chongqing and just outside Hush's lab on the bottom floor:
You can actually use a vent near one of the server rooms outside the data core. You climb through and go up a ladder directly to Hush's hideout.
The same vent structure is accessible from the floor above as well. Near the security and analyst working areas.
I've definitely got a different list, but i love your explanations for why you choose what you did. This is a GREAT video. 🎉
I just found hitman as a serious when last year and idk how this game isn’t MORE talked about. It you keep up the hitman content I’m all for it
Definitely gonna come back to it in the future, though I'm more so aiming for gaming analysis in general.
@@SAMUSUMA understandable mate it’s your passion do it your way
"The submarine angle should be cut entirely." I don't fully disagree with you, but it does have the "submersible party bus" line and that's enough for me
I like Marrakesh simply for the bloodbaths. It feels like you’re actually fighting a military force.
okay... you may have a point lol
This video is very well made. I was surprised to find out you don’t have more subscribers.
I completely agree. I always wondered how a map with more than two targets would work, and some of the ways you can kill all of them are really fun.
I personally love Colorado, i think the atmosphere is amazing, and the fact that basically everyone was armed, made it that much more diffecult
That's completely understandable. I personally don't think it's that interesting, but as always, the map is very flexible in its difficulty depending on how you want to play (though admittedly less than others).
This is a great first video, would love to see more!
the quality on this video is truly remarkable the editing, song choices, and vibe of the video made this a very enjoyable watch. Its hard to have a 44 minute video with no dull moments but you did just that, great work.
Thanks! I seriously wish I had the time to make more videos because comments like these make me really want to xD
Completely fair, Dartmoor I underrated in retrospect, I love the map's style and focused too much on the gameplay elements that I dislike.
i love the atmosphere of Dartmoor. Wandering around the quiet, empty-feeling house, using the secret passage ways, etc. If there was a map I could live in for a day, it would be Dartmoor.
I think Colorado failing is what made Berlin and Hokkaido so great. Berlin is probably one of my favorite missions
I don't think you got roasted enough for that HORRENDOUS Dartmoor pick
I think the virus probably has better implementation than like every 4 in 5 targets lmao, it's very flexible and exciting
Amazing video, can't believe its your first! (at least - first one you have public) you deserve a lot more than 400 subscribers, and I really do hope you go on to make more like this, because this was genuinely the best hitman video I've watched.
I'm surprised that you only have one video. Very excited to see you grow into a big youtuber
All maps are good in their own way. My top 5 (not in order) would be: Mumbai, Isle Of Sgail, Sapienza, Miami, and Haven Island.
What I love the most is when you have to go full john wick. The rush of trying to get out of a squeeze and finding a new costume
My top 5
1. Santa Fortuna
2. Sapienza
3. Marrakesh
4. Mendoza
5. Miami
Amazing video, but I would say that isle of Segal is my favorite, because of all the pipes and ledges you can use to get to high places that would usually be hard to get to on foot without being seen. And for some reason, I really like the vibe I get from it. 😁
I know a lot of ppl hate on Santa Fortuna but I actually love it. I also did just SI/SO the level and that took absolutely forever
If they made a stand along Sherlock style detective game it would be phenomenal.
just commenting because you deserve more recognision from the algorithm
Colorado is probably my second favourite map in the first Hitman game (after Sapienza). I love its atmosphere and environment, plus the difficulty of traversing without a disguise in the start
This is your first ever video!? Holy cow, this is so well done.
Good video. Great game!
Ambrose Island is fantastic! What a little gem. I played the hell out of that one and the Pirate kill challenge was really good. Yarr.
The perimeter is your greatest tool you have on the map allowing you to leave tough areas and enter other hard to reach places with ease IF you have a lockpick or the key.
honestly my favourite map is bangkok, the theme and world is so beautiful and its a really fun mission
Top 5 in my opinion in no order: Isle of Sgail
Hokkaido
Hawkes Bay
Dartmoor
Chongqing
Honorable Mention: Sapienza
Hokkaido has such beautiful aesthetics. Thank you for the great video
Thank you for the nice comment :)
paris is a classic and its just so well designed in terms of getting disguises and interesting opportunities. its my favorite atm
Chonquing is my favourite hitman map too! I'm so glad a content creator likes it too
The most cinematic, creepy, and cool assassinations for me are from Bangkok Mendoza and Dubai because standing behind Jordan Cross while he hears the audio of him killing his girlfriend and him begging for his life was creepy and disturbing in a good way.
My top 3 levels would probably be:
#3 - Paris
#2 - Berlin
#1 - Hokkaido
The Maelstrom is actually quite easy to find in replays... He ALWAYS starts at the same location and it is in range of one of the starting locations. Just start on the Skywalk and quickly move from the Skywalk's railing to the Metal-fence on the right of the stairs in front of you. The Maelstrom will always be the man with the guard walking into the little side-street. He is a very easy first kill if you don't exactly want to hide the body and you can easily switch back to a stealthy approach for the other two targets. Or just follow him and find something on the way...
HOW is this your first video? So good and detailed. Also Ben Folds rocks
the other great thing about berlin is it took the concept of 47 being hunted by other assassins of the ICA from absolution which is a cool idea that was done horribly and then actually did it practically perfectly in hitman 3, easily one of the best maps in not just the WOA but the entire series
The glazing to Hokkaido is unreal in this video
A fellow Chonqing and Hawkes Bay enjoyer. You are a chad.
Great video
Damn, that must have been a lot of work! Great video, interesting opinions and remarks based on facts and deep thoughts - thanks!
Keep it up mate ! Love to see more Hitman content !
The last mission on the train is pretty much how every mission is designed in Absolution
You spilled the tea when it comes to Chongqing, although, I fear there are too little kill opportunities for the targets, especially Hush
Great editing. Would never guess this is someone's first video. Hoping you will make more Hitman content.
Congratulations
(edited) I had to watch this video again its just amazing. You explained EVERYTHING about EVERY location. I mean you are really good at it. If I was going to do this video i was going to get lost
I was just watching until I looked down to 600 subscribers your so underrated 🎉
Whittleton Creek is one of my favorite maps. The metal music in that one basement is really great. (Song is Mørke by Huldre in case anyone's wondering) Although it is the least Vermont looking suburb they could've made. It's too flat. It looks more like somewhere in Kansas.
