I don't think Simran will ever admit the real reason she did this, because I think the answer is that it was entertaining and it made her feel powerful to control/manipulate another person so completely. She's never going to say her motivation was that it was just fun to create drama, because that makes her look bad. She needs years of therapy, but in the end this is a sociopath and a malignant narcissist. I think she lacks the ability to feel remorse and empathy, and even with therapy it's unlikely she will be able to feel those things because she lacks the ability. I don't buy for a second that she was in a dark place or feels badly for Kirat. She might feel badly for herself and for the consequences that she herself has suffered due to her actions/choices to catfish someone for years, but I dont think someone who has the capacity for this kind of awful deed can have the ability to empathize woth others.
