I made a lot of research about the universe and galaxies and I hate to calculate everything on my own because of miles and billions/trillions.. one billion is 1000th of a "german" billion which makes numbers that are BIG (like in the universe) way different.. like.. with miles and kilometer its alright because it is obvious what they mean but once you translate things or get research in english (because most of the information is in english of course) it gets messed up quick. :( And even in the smaller units it is stupid like.. I am 6.5ft but there is more than 6.10ft because of inch and feet and yea. I hope they change the system worldwide to metric

I had a dream that Bezos died on his rocket trip to the edge of space, on the the return something went wrong and the vessel broke up and disintegrated.

I'm from Brazil and it's very sad to see how our vegetation is treated. President Bolsonaro puts people in agribusiness as ministers of the environment, like Ricardo Salles, who supported hunting and is involved in corruption involving wood. More than 80% of the Amazon is intact and even at current rate there's actually small reason to believe it'll just disappear. The thing is that south america is huge so the numbers are big, but relatively it isn't the apocalypse.

As a Brazilian, we learned about Amazon's niches "horizontally", being the Igapó, Mata de Várzea and Terra Firme. Those regions being defined by the rivers' floods. Igapó is flooded by black waters(Like those of Rio Negro which forms the Amazon), Várzea floods from time to time by white(actually, brown) waters(Like those of Rio Solimões which forms the Amazon, or is the Amazon proper) and Terra Firme doesn't flood. That doesn't include the mountainous regions of the Amazon like in Guianas, Venezuela and Peru, since...well... they are not in Brazil. However, I never thought about how diverse our forest is "vertically" as well. That means, in a 100m3 of Forest, we can split into smaller cubes and find different niches.

Awesome video but you forgot to mention the temperature, I lived is a Brazilian state within the rain Forest, And let me tell you, at day time the temperature grows up to 40 degrees every single day, and sometimes it goes to 41/42. This vegetation is also extremely dense making it impossible to a human move around. And to top it off, the insects, especially mosquitos, would just eat you alive. xD this environment is extremely diversity and rich, but it's not made for humans. but at least It's a good place for researchs.

The deforestation aspect is a difficult problem because there are two sides to the story. We in Western countries love to say that deforestation of the Amazon is a bad thing because the amazon are the lungs of the earth, not realizing that we ourselves have laid waste to any forest that was in the way of economical progress. Those south American countries that have big parts of land filled with rainforest are often poor. Who are we to say they can't use their own land to make money and stronger their economy. As I said, it's easy judging from here when we already did the exact same thing.

I lived in Amapá for 18 years, It's a state in Brazil with about 80% of its territory being Amazon rain Forest, This state also is on the riverbank of Amazon's river, ask me anything.

For those that don't know in reality Brazil have 5 types of forests, the Amazon rainforest, the Atlantic rainforest, Araucaria forest of the south, the Caatinga and the Cerrado.
Caatinga and cerrado aren't forests I think, they're biomes but not necessarily forests I think.
@@fusososososo3507 The name "Caatinga" is a Tupi word meaning "white forest" or "white vegetation. The main habitat types of the Cerrado consist of forest savanna.
