  • When it comes to ending chronic pain and chronic symptoms, it's crucial that you focus on progress, not on perfection.
Why? Because perfectionism is a hallmark personality trait of people with chronic pain and chronic symptoms. Perfectionists tend to look at things as black and white. There's a tendency to feel that if you didn't succeed 100%, you failed. There's also a tendency to overlook the positives to focus on the one thing that could have been better. These, however, are distorted views. In reality, you are making progress, and even the slowest progress will eventually get you there.

Yes it's crucial for us to focus on progress, and keep in mind that progress made when we're on a bad day, instead of getting discouraged, thank you for making this video and reminder about it.
And by writing this comment, I'm reinforcing your advice in my head 😊

Good point, you're writing down affirmative statements, and that helps to lock them into the brain. Thanks for your note.

Thanks again for another valuable video! It’s so important to stop measuring progress day to day…..rather to look at the bigger picture. I’ve learned that in my PPPD journey. Look forward to the next video!

I am very discouraged. Then the medical system makes it all worse. That truly is something completely out of mu control.

Let's remember that the medical system is very good at saving your life. They excel in emergencies. Chronic pain, chronic symptoms, and overall health and vitality are an inside job. There's not a lot that medicine can offer you in that regard. But that's ok! That means you have the power and control to change things.
