I used to stop by Reykjavik when I was flying Icelandair to Stockholm Arlanda. Beautiful city and beautiful country, but the cost of everything in Iceland was way too expensive, like out-of-this-world expensive. Probably on par with New York City cost of living. The cost of living in Reykjavik is even more expensive than prices in Copenhagen which I thought we ridiculous already.
We have always wanted to visit.....is it expensive for meals and souvenirs etc...how about beer in local bars? Is the language barrier a problem......? Nice video, thanks.
There is no problem with speaking english, all locals will understand you. You can check out prices in this video in few places. Hotdog + Pepsi 1600 crowns, large pepperoni pizza 3300 crown 😉
good video......but....how can you pass a bakery and NOT show the pastries in the window. Lol. Teasing. I loaded up on a few things at that bakery, forget the name. Very good!
@@SytyDziza Yeah, I know....lol....I live to eat and food is everything to me........If you go back, that is a very famous bakery in Reykjavik and top rated.
Do me a favor my Icelandic RUclips viewers the next time you'll walk by the Icelandic Santa mailbox can you find out the manufacturer of the Santa's mailbox I think it's one of a kind and I will be much appreciated. Thanks 😇
Iceland is considered one of the safest countries in the world to live in, with very low crime and murder rates. For instance, the country has the lowest murder rate in Europe. I don't believe that the Islamic State will ever be interested in going there 😉
If referring to the display in the shop… these Vikings drinking horns are not ivory. During Medieval period animal horns were made of a lightweight and durable material which were available on all Scandinavian farms, and predominantly ox horns were used.
The different artwork looks great i can’t wait to check it out in person
cheers 😉

It is an island, everything has to be shipped there hence very high prices 😏

Hello my friend .how are you .my from india.
Hello 👋
what currency do they have?
Icelandic Crowns (ISK) are the official currency of Iceland, since 1918 if I am correct 😉
Don't they have lots of wind there? The houses don't look very sturdy hmm
The wind does not blow strongly in Reykjavik, much more in the open spaces of wild Iceland 😉
Fajne te ich kolorowe domki ;)
fajnie, że Ci się podobają ;)
The architecture is really strange, not without a certain charme!
maybe a little bit 😉
A hard rock cafe! look at that!
in most world capitals you can find hard rock cafe 😉

I at least tried to show some of the menus from restaurant windows ;)

Nice. Lovely country. Where is your first one?
@@SytyDziza USA. Feels like a world apart from Iceland even though geographically they’re pretty close.
Nice. As far as I can remember, there were plenty of flights to the US from Iceland 😉
@@SytyDziza Indeed. And I can’t wait to be on another one before too long. :)
not a lot of people around there.

Without random volcano eruptions there would be nothing going on there lol
nn average, a volcanic eruption occurs in Iceland only every four to five years 😉
Are there black people in iceland?
yes, but mainly tourists, not many locals 😉
They drink their beer from the skulls of the forefathers!!!
old Norse poetic kenning said "drink beer at once from the curved branches of skulls"... however, Vikings did not just drink beer from horns 😉
bright colours but no sun......i prefer greece!
Greece has its advantages, but do not disparage Iceland 😉
Do you have isismen from africa, Afcanistan.and Irak there? Is it still safty. All Europe is allready spoilet whit that.

I think commercial dealings in ivories should be banned
I think they are banned in most of the countries
