Anya's speech saying Buffy is just lucky to have her power always makes me so mad. Buffy has SO earned it by the end of the show.
If she gave her that speech year one, sure, It would be true, but she gives it to her after Buffy died twice, saved the world 6+ times, kept fighting even after she just lost her mom, killed her own lover and sent him to hell, and lost out on Heaven. I mean, come on Anya. Pay attention.
Anya is really the only person who should have had no lines that encounter. When had Anya ever done anything for another person (not counting her 4 seasons of hanging around because of Xander). Hell, she doesn't even feel bad about her victims until the dog is mentioned.
Anya objectively ruined more lives than anyone else out of the main characters and cut herself of from life because it was to scary/hard.
If Kennedy or Rhona had that line, it would have come out more like someone terrified they need someone else to protect them and mad at being powerless. This just made Anya seem stupid.
Anya.right Buffy did not earn her powers. And she only save the world.because of her friends. She lost every fight to big bad on her own.
The Slayer, with all her Humanity.
