BUT please: don't overfill this movie with a massive amount of characters from the multiverse, awesome visual effects and 0% storytelling. This is the Marvel movie I have the highest expectations of this year (because there's Raimi, Cumberbatch and Olsen). The trailer is great but don't ruin the film.
@Pat Bateman completely agreed. I’m all for multiversal shenanigans and cameos IF it serves a purpose towards furthering the plot and services our main character(s). For example, Prof X as part of the multiversal Illuminati capturing Strange, facing consequences for some of his decisions? Excellent imo. Along with the other rumored members such as Ioan Gruffudd’s Mr. Fantastic, Captain Carter and so on. All of that is great because it serves the main story. But we can’t just have characters appear just for the heck of it. It has to have substance. That’s why NWH worked so well for me, because they weren’t just there. Every returning character serves a purpose in furthering the main plot and Holland’s Peter’s story. Same needs to apply here for Strange and Wanda. Seeing Ben Affleck DD, the Hulk from the early 2000s, heck even seeing Tobey again, any of that is just completely unnecessary and takes away from the film. As lone as the cameos are purposeful towards the main story then I’m good with it. But yeah when there’s oversaturation like you said, that’s a problem
