FIRST LOOK 2019 Kia ProCeed shooting brake: a serious Mercedes CLA rival

- Kia has unveiled its latest addition to the Ceed family, the ProCeed. It’s a sporty, five-door shooting brake (cross between an estate and a coupe) version of the Ceed hatchback. It’s based on the concept ProCeed shown at the Frankfurt Motorshow last year.
Kia made huge strides dropping the weird apostrophe from the Ceed name, and it’s now gone one step further and got rid of the weird underscore from the ProCeed too.
The ProCeed will certainly be attracting comparisons to the Mercedes CLA shooting brake, but will be more of an affordable option for buyers.

We’re just stupid here in the USA, we don’t buy station wagons and because of that we are missing out on some wonderful and practical cars.
Even this fastback looks way better than the 2018 Accord.. this Kia is just so sleek and aerodynamically sexy.

Muricans only buy SUVs and trucks. Doesn't help that those are the only things advertised in video advertisements and website ads either. Dealerships also pressure everyone to buy an SUV too, so seems more like an agenda that succeeded.... All the cool cars never get imported here....

Like all such reviews no mention of the important stuff, driving enjoyment, underpinnings, emissions, etc, just the stuff we could see for ourselves in an instant were we to walk around one.

The CLA Lim. is a nice looking car. But i can't understand how people actually like the SB versions of Mercedes, they look really ugly imo.
The front of this Kia is a bit boring tbh but overall nothing wrong with it. Bet it is a solid new car

German brands have taken us granted and now Kia is earning our love!
Looks v.nice, but those engines.. the 'premium' is not only the look or equipment, its also nice high hp range
totally depends on the market. in UK you can find a lot of 'premium' cars with the very basic engines, because of road taxes and the fact that national 70mph limit cuts all differences between 200 and 300 hp cars. so unless it's v8 for cabrio (because of the engine sound) I am happy with 200hp with good ACC (with stop and go).

Looks like Korean version of Mercedes CLS. No offence to Kia. The car looks more german than other german brands because they hired lot of german designers and engineers who previously worked for audi
Thats a really good effort by Kia depending on price. Rachel as the tech expert on the team can you do me a small favour. When testing a car and using Apple CarPlay maps to navigate does the car show turn directions on the instrument binnacle. ? None of them do yet but Apple enabled the feature over two years ago but no OEM has made it work yet as far as I know. Thanks in advance
I use AndroidAuto in my i30N. Directions from Waze are showing up on my instument cluster, so I take it it will do the same from AppleCarPlay.

The shape of the car is absolutely fantastic, but unfortunately the interior is not much change from standard Ceed.
Ooooh, I like the shape, particularly from the side profile. Some of the detailing needs to be got rid of though such as that silver kink on the rear 3/4 panel. If they could improve the rear legroom and offer some better engines eg. petrol/electric hybrid, this would be a stormer!
Why do we have to be so damn SUV crazy in the States? We are missing out on some good cars.

Budget panamera

30k for a Kia though... you can wave bye ye to 85% of it in 3 years.
Loosing 15k of a 30k car or loosing 75k of a 150k car. Write off on a Panamera will be much bigger, especially if it isn't the Hybrid. Nobody wants to buy those expensive machines with big engines on the second hand market. You can buy 5 year old AMG C classes for less than 50k.

not quite sure but delivery mileage 18 plate Stingers are between £4,000 and £6,000 off list price of a £35,000 car. Take that to 2 years down the line and if the Stinger depreciates the same rate as the Optima, expect it to be a trade in of around £8k.
Really a good car, but the headroom both front and rear and rear seat leg room could have been a little better. Rest is totally fine
Ditch the panoramic roof. Frees up 2 extra inches straigh away and you won't need to rub your head with solar lotion in summer :')
Good looking from the outside, the interior is underwhelming though.. such a shame, the car looks really good!

Alternative drivetrains line Plugin Hybrid, Electric and CNG will arrive accoriding to KIA in mid 2019. For launch, only petrol and diesel.

This was basically listing the specs and sounded like reading a previously written text to the letter. I scrolled forward to see if she's going to open the hood but no that was cut out, was there someone there that opened it for her I wonder? Unfortunately this sounded and looked like a generic tooth paste commercial. A pity for such an interesting car.

A bit less head room... and a worse view out of the back...
There literally wasn't any headroom to begin with (especially not in the back) and the view out of the pro_cee'd is dreadful, I have an SE and without my reversing camera I'd have ruined the back end by now. I have no idea how the plebs with SR7's survive.

The concept looked better. They should have made the hood longer to make it more attractive. And it also looks bloated a bit as opposed to the concept. Might have to do with the higher belt line.
