A stunningly beautiful woman with a unique devotion. For me as a European, this is always fascinating to watch. Most people I know don't understand why I adore the Indian dance so much. But how can you NOT be completely captured by this breathtaking performance?

It's a 21 minute long video but not even a single time she seems tired. Her expressions are amazing throughout. It's not just about performance for some people it's about putting the whole emotion and love to make it look divine.

at some stage we are supposed to do a thing called an aramgetra,m(I did mine recently!its on my channel too the live stream,incase you want a briefing of what it is)
it is basically the debut of the dancer.
we have to dance for almost 3 hours!with that grace,strength beauty etc.
not an easy thing!

Actual Classical dance items are of hours long, its a generic thing. The performer had to go through endurance and training for it. Stamina, and a lot of devotion towards dance is all about it.

Abhinandan Zambare Thank you so much. I should of explained clearer the shape is rainbow shaped from Ukraine to India if we looked at a map or interestingly a straight line from a different perspective ie not looking side on a globe representation.
It’s very interesting to me my/our understanding of what we are,where we came from and cultural phenomena that gets accepted and forced from people. We see it now with the devil/ignorance culture that insists on reselling artificial reality back to those that already had free access to it. I think it has got so dark and obvious I’m hoping it is waking more people up to its insidious nature.

Whilst I’m commenting I have a friend in Poland and I went to Sanok and drove around that corner of Poland and I was informed the stunning mountains in the distance were in Ukraine. I’m sorry for the very serious troubles that have beset your country my understanding which may be incorrect is that devious external powers have infiltrated Ukraine and internal traitors have accepted their false promises and caused a massive rift in the country including bombing their own people and towns and Ukrainians have formed independent groups to defend themselves from their ‘government’ and the external world is presenting that as illegal insurgents just like they do to the Middle East and now Africa. Whatever the truth is it is deeply tragic and a lot of people suffer.

The Konnakkol from to 2:45 to 4:00 is superlative, pay attention to the footwork and the sound of the anklets - perfect adherence to the laya! And the dance accompanying these is so beautifully done, evokes such emotions.

I just wanna say that it's not easy to dance 21 minutes straight and hit every pose this much precisely when you are soaked in sweat , I am learning Bharatanatyam myself and the importance of classical dances is very underrated, I wish we will bring it to the level it deserves and I myself would do everything in my hands and all we want is that people understand our efforts and the messages we are trying to convey.

Very good performance. The dance is very long. Artistry, concentration and physical stamina -- a rare combination. She combines an ancient south Indian art with technique and endurance I associate with western ballet.
One of the great dancers of our time, and a great facial actress.

My niece is learning bharathanatyam. She is eleven this year. She has the passion to learn dance. Whenever I give my phone to her for a short period of time, She would see videos on rukmini vijayakumar dancing. Sometimes she would tell me that she wants to be a great dancer like rukmini. That was a spectacular performance. 👏👏

stunning. It felt like the presiding deity of Chidambaram , Sivakami , herself descended upon the stage to perform this Natyanjali. I wish AishwaryaRai ( a great dancer too, trained in Bharatnatyam although she never had an arangetram) and Rukmini wouldperform a face-off performance on stage (Or in cinema) one day, that would EPIC like Padmini and Vyjayanthimal's famous face off dance in a movie in the 50s.
