Hey my guy love your videos....your correct about the conversion costs but if you dont want your cv's etc to break just install lower strut bar at the front and even now with your 2l conversion you will feel gains without even modifying the engine......luv the vids and keep it up👌👍
We just put a standard kahein carb on the 2 liter polo engin with a 268 cam and 5 speed box but we could not get over 160 and yes the Weber is a difficult thing I'm thinking now of building a two door golf again not sure which engin and box yet
honestly would have gone with a 2l 8v and 276 cam. might be a bit pricey but the power gain is just unmatched. another thing said is that you are very correct about the things breaking when you increase to power but its only if you didnt really maintain your car properly or allowed wear and tear to take over without frequent maintenance. anyway would love to still see whats coming in the future and whats planned for your golfy
I don't understand?? I have a 2l 8v with 276 cam and running the 36 weber now as well!!! Planning to change head and go with 288 cam!!! Thank's for commit
Hi there. Ace motor sports sells the carb and base plate. It is not a 36 DCD!!! It's a 32/36 weber carb if you are still interested look them up on the internet ask for Louis.
I didn't do it myself!!! Ace motor sport did the carb for me jet size and air they will no. Thanks for your comment and happy that someone gets my video
Have you had your car on a dyno yet? Im running a 2L 2E motor in my citi and would like to see what differences there are. Keep up the videos, i enjoy watching.
Hi there. To be honest I think it's year model. Mine is a 1995 model long cable. You have to see on yours long or short then you will no. Can ask goldwagen to for help.
Hi Bruno. Problem is I never changed the distributor when I changed the motor. Distributor and vacuum does not do anything on this 2.0l its pointless buying it won't work.
Hi there. If you are running std vw carb change it!!!!! Weber 32/36, cam as a daily with some good power gain 276, get some branches will help, free flow exhaust. Can play with cylinder head gasflow bigger valves. It's up too you , thanks for your support.
@@ritchiesridemk1vwbuild853 Hi, im intending to instol n 36DCD in my 1998 VW 2.5 Microbus, do u think it's n good way 2 go considering the price of Petrol in South Africa
Hi Charles!!! Have you changed all the parts to suit the 2.5 motor? Like air jets idle and fuel and venturi sleeves. If you did all that car shouldn't be to heavy on fuel. And should gain some good power. I'm not running the 36 DCD. Mine is the 32 /36 weber carburetor
Hi i have an AGG engine, with 36 weber and 272° that i have, an ligter wheel, but i think i'm gonna do with 1.8 Gu and the head from de 2.0 so i can faster in rpm sorry i dont speak good english
Dude, "breaking" things on any vehicle is down to your driving habits and maintenance regardless of the direction you take lol The long term benefits to be had with Fuel injection/ forced induction far outweigh the minimal gains of a carb setup
@@ritchiesridemk1vwbuild853 and you cant do that with fuel injection (modern tech) lol? I'm sorry but your info/opinion is skewed in all respects..(cost, performance and all other etc)

Hi bro. I'd like to also get the weber carb. Would it have much effect on my 1300?
Yes weber will help to gain a little bit more power on your car
@@ritchiesridemk1vwbuild853 I'll give it a shot. We buy it online or there's a direct outlet? I'd prefer an outlet
Where did you buy that water pipe that big one
Hi there, any spare shop.
hello can you send me the reference of this distributor, I'm looking for one for a 2.0 but with vacuum
Hi Bruno. Problem is I never changed the distributor when I changed the motor. Distributor and vacuum does not do anything on this 2.0l its pointless buying it won't work.

Hi cohen. Yes it will work perfectly for your 1.8 will gain power aswell.
Hi, ive watched your videos and im running the same engine on my MK1 1.8 carb with 8v head... would you assist how i can gain more power?
Hi there. If you are running std vw carb change it!!!!! Weber 32/36, cam as a daily with some good power gain 276, get some branches will help, free flow exhaust. Can play with cylinder head gasflow bigger valves. It's up too you , thanks for your support.
Hi any difference in fuel consumption with the weber carb
Hi there. Fuel economy is pretty good, my opinion is better than your std vw carburetor.
Where can i get Weber carburetor im outsider
Hi there! I have no idea how to help you so sorry. Did you try to find weber on internet close to where you stay?
Hi mate. Where did you purchase this carb from?
Hello! Ace motor sport look them up on internet. Thanks for your comment

What you planning to do with the car sounds very good, try a bigger cam to 276!!! Thank's for your commit.
Hi
Whats ur ma speed on the 4 speed gear box
.. How much fuel does it chow
Top speed 185!!! Really not bad on fuel.

U right 36 carb won't keep up but I can go to Capetown if I want to!!! That's the difference.
@@ritchiesridemk1vwbuild853 and you cant do that with fuel injection (modern tech) lol? I'm sorry but your info/opinion is skewed in all respects..(cost, performance and all other etc)
Yes u can do the same with fuel injection get in and go to capetown if u want to. I don't like fuel injection on my car.
I also prefer carbs on my racing Golf I have a zenith 2b2
Hi there. Yes carburetors is better too work on then fuel injection. So easy to play with jet size and air.
36dcd Weber also works well but the fuel consumption is a bit heavy
