I love that even sitting in a decked out gym, he highlighted water, sleep, and diet as the most important things. I have lost 90 pounds and can attest it’s much easier to cut a few hundred calories from your diet than to burn them through exercise. Exercise is needed for other things (strength, flexibility, mental health, bone density, etc) but diet is the key to weight management.
What I loved most about this video was seeing you and Dejan out on a road trip. I've been wanting to see more you guys out and about in Canada for years. More please :) It was also interesting hearing from Don, what a lovely and knowledgeable guy.
Allana! I must echo how great the transitions and editing are, but also the interviewing! I really think you have something here! You do a great job of actually listening to the person you're interviewing and engaging them in a conversation. I think you might have found the pivot you have been looking for! More interviews please!

I did DIY Body 2023 into 2024. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. The trainers really care about you as a person and truly take the time to educate you so that, once you finish the initial plan, you have the skills you need to keep going. I still follow the workout plans I was given and have seen continued results. Listen, I'm not saying it isn't hard (I already had an incredibly solid fitness foundation, which helped), but I am saying it is worth it! Side note - the edit on this is SO GOOD! The community is here for whatever content you want to put out, Allana. Follow your passions, and we're here to support.
I never comment, but really have to for this one. I loved this video and love how you are sharing your experience with your health/fitness journey! It is so motivating so see someone talk about fitness goals and changes of habits in such a realistic way, being real about the effort that needs to be put in, and how important a diet change/awareness is to get to a healthy and sustainable place with one’s body.

Editing to add: for anyone looking for motivation… once you stick to it and start seeing results, it becomes addictive where you don’t want to stop. First off Don has such amazing skin! Like give a girl your skin care routine. Second the training montage filming was elite. I know Dejan isn’t always comfortable in front of the camera but I would be curious to know about his success with his training program as someone who’s always trying to support their husband is levelling up his fitness
My skin care routine might shock you!! LOL. My mother blessed me with her clear skin genetics, however, 4L of water each day, a diet composed of minimally processed foods and regular exercise keeps your skin looking great!

I am so glad to hear "you can't out-train a bad diet". We're too often told "eat less, move more" but the diet is the driver. It starts there and then exercise is to sculpt and build endurance. Too many of us -- including me -- thought "Oh, I'll just work off that dessert!" Until I got it into my head that it starts with diet I was stuck on a weight loss/weight gain/weight loss rollercoaster.

When I saw you guys were filming this video I got so excited! Planning on watching this interview multiple times because so much knowledge and free game was dropped while being totally realistic. Would love for this to turn in to some kind of series or check ins with Don if that’s something he’d be open to. Any kind of collab I would definitely be interested in as well. I’ve been working with a personal trainer and I love her and have seen strength results and learned so much but something like DIY body and having a program to follow feels really important in order to level up and see results. I love that they cover personalized meal plan/macros as well as the workout.

As someone that workout on their own at home (was a gym rat, but no longer like that environment) I was happy to hear that he can structure workouts for home. I found it difficult to make the transition to at home workouts. How awesome that you were able to go and meet with him!! I would personally LOVE to start DIY Body back up. I did when they first came out, but then I just kind of took everything upon myself to make things happen. But now I'm at the point where I'm even more busy and NEED that personal 1 on 1 for specific targeted areas. I'm very happy with my body and consider myself to be a healthy person overall, but having that non-stop DIY trainer available to you, I think, would for sure be beneficial. Especially for me personally. Like you said, you get to the gym, hit your DIY training button, and boom... there's YOUR personal workout goals & workout program w/o having to wander the gym thinking should I use this machine today, etc (if that makes sense), and that's what I want and NEED again. I am so down and ready to have that again. I WANT that again so badly. I know that's exactly what I need personally. I have the motivation and health aspect, I just need a go-to trainer to put together my workouts for me so I'm making the most out of my workouts and also targeting where I personally want to target. So cool seeing the DIYbody crew and their gorgeous home gym 😎 I wish they could offer a 15-minute free consultation video call with every person after filling out the form instead of asking to upload photos and offer different programs. Maybe just recommendations for the meal prep is all one needs and they already manage and do their workout portion which is not a convo we can have with a nutritionist since they don't have the fitness background. Hope it makes sense 😊

I loved what he said about motivation being a fleeting feeling, like happiness or sadness, and it’s really the routines and dedication you rely on. I loved what he said about motivation being a fleeting feeling, like happiness or sadness, and it’s really the routines and dedication you rely on. I feel the same way about my fitness - but now I’m thinking about how I can apply that concept to other parts of my life as well. Like cleaning the house… 😂

I am SO impressed by your strength! I paused to see what your shoulder press weights were! I'm going to be channeling you tomorrow during my gym session. I've started tracking again, and you're right, it's a slippery slope, but I'm focusing on the macros and having fun with making yummy things. It's actually meant the food I'm making is more delish because I'm being more creative and thinking more about it rather than just going with my old basics.

I’m seeing great results but would like to optimize my body to be super toned. And girly I just have to say wow 🤩 you are beautiful! Like damn you are so strong! 💪. I hadn’t understood cutting but I think I’m going to try it, planning it out ofcourse. I really think this will optimize my results and I’m excited 😊! Also I loved the first portion of the video, you guys are nailing it on the great edit shots!!
I would love a HGW collab for the fam! Unfortunately, I don't think DYIbody would be something I could a) afford and b) be able to maintain with my demanding work schedule at the current time in my life.

Can you do like "a week of meal planning" but like over the course of sometime? Like a month or something. Maybe if you do different meals or how you store them, how long it lasts ect. Just like more in depth with your meal prepping and how many meals it creates
