Ok, I LOVE the Bee Gees. Thanks to my Boomer, Mom I knew them when I was 7 years old. And besides Too Much Heaven, THIS is my other favorite song. I LOVE Tragedy!
Barry Gibb the oldest Bee Gee made the explosion sound by cupping his hands around the Studio Microphone and made a sound, It became an explosion sound. There is a video called the Making of Tragedy.
