I appreciate you Two watching this... makes me smile and appreciating it for what it is... thank you....
Fun Fact: The American Heart Association recommends performing CPR at the same tempo as this song.
Which is actually GENIUS!
I told my bf this a few weeks ago and he had the nerve to fact check me 😂
This and another one bites the dust
Yes! Shout out to the episode of The Office! Lol
@@thehorrorfanx Huh. Never seen it.
Nobody has the vocals like these men do. They are awesome.
This song was a phenomenon in 70's.
Some of the best harmonies ever... Sibling Harmonies are always the best. Barry and the twins.. awesome.. their younger came in later.. Andy.. same voice.. amazing. These boys wrote and sang their music.
Thank you for appreciating their music and talent!
They're singing about rising above and making something of their lives at a time when life was really tough on the mean streets in New York.
"Robin recalls, "The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is actually quite a serious one; It's about survival in the streets of New York, and the lyrics actually say that". Barry Gibb also recalls, "People crying out for help. Desperate songs. Those are the ones that become giants. The minute you capture that on record, it's gold. 'Stayin' Alive' is the epitome of that. Everybody struggles against the world, fighting all the bullshit and things that can drag you down. And it really is a victory just to survive. But when you climb back on top and win bigger than ever before, well that's something everybody reacts to everybody."
And they are saying "whether it's a brother or whether it's a mother."
This was no low-budget video back in the day. Watch Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta, which epitomizes this and other tracks by the Brothers Gibb.
Nice reaction!
You can sound like you about to sneeze to have high pitch spund
@@aleksandard8884 What?!
@@aleksandard8884 Try to sustain that note on key and hold a "sneeze" for that long.
They wrote more than 1000 songs for themselves and other famous artists!
Guinness World Records lists Gibb as the second highest-grossing songwriter in history behind McCartney. Gibb's career spans more than 60 years. He and his brothers were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of the Bee Gees.
Come on people, this is the coolest video, the coolest song, the coolest vocals that have ever been and will be!
Love , love, love the Bee Gees! Nobody harmonized like they did!
I think the bee gees had a hit in 4 different decades
Five. And Sir Barry Gibb, the oldest and only surviving brother, still writes and performed until very recently. He was honored at the Kennedy Center Awards this past December.
Barry was 9 and the twins 6 when they began performing.
Bee Gees - Too Much Heaven
Those boys can sang!
BEE GEES TOO MUCH HEAVEN
Believe it or not, the man in the middle (Barry) sings in a really deep regular voice. He was using his falsetto voice here. All of them are brothers. The Bee Gee’s (Brothers Gibb; Barry Gibb, and twins Robin and Maurice, pronounced Morris, Gibb. They also had another brother who had 3 #1 hits in a row (Andy Gibb). The Bee Gees were very popular in the black community in the 70’s! If you want to go down the Bee Gees rabbit hole, you can follow this up with:
Jive Talkin a #1 song
Night Fever a #1 song
Too much Heaven, a#1 song
You should be dancing, a #1 song
How Deep is your love, a #1 song
Love you Inside out, a #1 song
Tragedy, a #1 song
How do you mend a broken heart, a #1 song
Duet with Barry Gibb and Barbra Streisand, Guity, a #1 song
And if you want to go deeper: Quincy Jones said his favorite R&B song was by The Bee Gees: Fanny be Tender with My Love!
Also Love So Right charted high on the R&B chart as well as Nights on Broadway (you’ll really hear Barry’s regular voice on this song)
Shadow Dancing, by Andy Gibb, a #1 hit and was written by all the Gibb brothers as well as background is another good one.
The Bee Gees wrote all their songs themselves as well as hits for other artist from Kenny Rogers/Dolly Partons to Destiny’s Child!
They were amazing songwriters, musicians, singers, and producers! Sadly only Barry is still with us, living in Miami with his wife of over 53 years!
Thank you! I feel like his deeper tone far too often goes unheard, but personally that's what I love most. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart...I mean, come on.
bee gees love you inside out
You won't be disappointed going down the Bee Gees rabbit hole.
This is still one of those songs the oldies stations love playing every once in awhile here in KC. We had the *best* music growing up! I miss the days of vinyl records! 🙂❤
Barry Gibb…the premium falsetto! The crazy thing is that, of the 3 brothers, Barry had the lowest voice. Barry is a baritone and the twins were tenor. It was the song Nights on Broadway where Barry discovered that falsetto. Their producer heard the song and made the comment that it was too bad one of them couldn’t scream in tune; then he stated, “someone’s gotta go out there and scream!” Barry said he would try and the 1970s sound of The Bee Gees was born. It’s much different from The Bee Gees in the 1960s! RIP Robin and Maurice, we love and miss you!🫶
I was a kid but I do remember the Bee Gees wrote the songs for the 1977 movie "Saturday Night Fever" This was one of a few songs from that sound track that stayed on the top of the charts for several weeks. I think it was like 20 plus weeks on the top charts. John Travolta starred in the movie. I'm sure you've seen the iconic photo of him disco dancing with the white suit on? It's a classic 70's movie.
Thanks so much for your reaction.
The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988.
The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically.
Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced).
From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ruclips.net/video/7niXSh7vWRI/видео.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ruclips.net/video/WH_j90fCIk4/видео.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ruclips.net/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/видео.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: ruclips.net/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/видео.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you ruclips.net/video/CA4CInDnTk8/видео.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: ruclips.net/video/162GlAEpfrY/видео.html.
Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on ruclips.net/video/-KdBVKcSSSw/видео.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing ruclips.net/video/_6MR-E_Qzz0/видео.html And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg
Good man 👍🏻
Thanks for the history lesson but we could have found all that on the Discovery Channel ! 👍
Your main man 😉 is Maurice (pronounced Morris) on the left sings harmony and lead with his twin, Robin, at points in this song. Sir Barry, the middle and oldest brother, has the astounding falsetto for those high notes. Robin had a strong voice, with a distinct vibrato. Maurice had a beautiful, mellow voice. Together, as brothers, their harmonies were tight and flawless. Check out "How Deep is Your Love."
The Bee Gees wrote a huge catalog of successful songs, second only to The Beatles. Some of those were written for other legendary singers.
Absolute Legends!
Appreciate the comment
A true fact, somewhere in the world a Bee Gees song is playing every 4 minutes. They were the best ever !
Every 20 seconds someone in the world is either listening to a song performed by The Bee Gees or someone listening to a song they have written. Challenge someone to sit still while this song is being played. If they can, get them to the ER because something is wrong with them.
I am 58yo, lt seems like yesterday when we were dancing to this song. Keep in mind, life is short.
As of my last update in January 2022, Barry Gibb is the only surviving member of The Bee Gees. Robin Gibb passed away in 2012, and Maurice Gibb passed away in 2003.
Good times
And they lost youngest brother Andy in 1988
I am 59 years old and I was born in 1964 the last year of the Baby Boomers. My favorite group is the Bee Gees and my favorite singer is Elvis, The Bee gees or Brothers Gibb dominated the charts in the 70's with Number 1 song after another. Their Younger brother Andy Gibb on a song written by the Bee Gees became #1 knocking a Bee Gees from number 1 to to #2 on the Charts.
It was fun growing up during those times. Going to the roller rink . I was too young to go to a real disco.
Another fond memory. Lots of good music.
This came out in 1977 and a was a huge disco hit just as rap music was getting invented. Back then it was known as Disco Rap because people would rap over disco beats like this. So this is a little bit of hip hop history.
I was almost a teen when Disco came on hard - I can say the Bee Gee's DOMINATED the disco era, I'd say Donna Summer gets honorable mention. Some other pure fire from these Australian brothers = #JiveTalkin #YouShouldBeDancing #LoneyDays
They sold over 200 million records! Very popular.
High school days! They were absolutely amazing
I was in high school when the Bee Gees really hit it big during the disco craze. We danced many a night away to their music. But it didn't end there. Such a talented family. So sad that now Barry (one in the middle) is the only surviving member. All of his brothers have now passed. And yet, he's still cranking out music, playing, singing, & writing. A lot of people don't realize how many hit songs from other artists were written by them. Artists like Dionne Warwick, Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Diana Ross, Samantha Sang, Yvonne Elliman, Tavares, Barbra Streisand, Franki Valli, Andy Gibb (youngest brother who died just as his career was taking off), and the list goes on. They have written THOUSANDS of hit songs, many of which were performed by other artists of all different genres. The absolute artistry and talent that came from these 3 brothers is truly phenomenal. I can't think of one bad song they have done. Everything is absolute gold.
Great reaction guys! Go way back to the 1960’s to their huge hit song To Love Somebody. They were much younger and they were not singing falsetto. You’ll be shocked.
Thank you for watching family
Outta the Gibb brothers, Barry really got the lion's share of the DNA, didn't he? Tallest and most handsome with the bestest hair and the bestest voice... Life ain't fair. He's the only one staying alive, too.
True!
They were awesome. There were four brothers, these three the BeeGees and then there was Andy, the youngest who was solo career.
I was born in 1971.... so yes... I LOVED... And Love them.... ;)
Their catalog is amazing!!! This is a rabbit hole you will enjoy going down.
Huge in the late '70s. A lot of their music featured in Saturday Night Fever (movie), which was huge.
You are exactly right. From a trip to NY in the 70s and the struggles going on at the time. Still inspiring today. You would enjoy Jive Talking.
Bee Gees are icons! Barry the one in the middle has a beautiful falsetto voice. Love this song so much. Love your reactions! ♥
Yessssssss about time you checked them out 😅 watching from Edinburgh Scotland UK 🇬🇧 👏 👍
Welcome to the Bee Gee rabbit hole. You must watch Midnight Special Nights on Broadway and Fanny be Tender with my love . Fanny is one of the greatest r&b songs ever written. They are brothers who have written every song they have ever sung and have written for so many artist. Mo does not sing right away because he is the third harmony. Not only can they sing but play instruments (MO a great bass player) and not one of them can read or write music. They are amazing.
Appreciate the info and insight thank you for the comment
You will have that song in your head for days after hearing it…that is the BeeGees
I can't express my love of this group or which song was my favorite song, they all were. Thanks for playing
Im 56 guys and been loving them and little brother andy since 1977!!!
the guy in the middle is Barry Gibb. He is the only brother that is still alive. The twins that are with him here, Maurice and Robin died in the early 2000's and their younger brother Andy died in the 80's.
Yes, they were brothers. The Brothers Gibb (or Bee Gees!)
Part of the reason for their continued popularity was the ability to keep up with the changing styles of music, for example -- from ballad/light rock to disco and back -- all the time just giving fans and people in general the music they wanted to hear. By the way, youngest brother Andy (who had hits of his own) passed when he was very young (not even 30 years old).
Dude in the middle is Barry Gibb...the mack daddy of falsetto....check out Andy Gibb, the baby Gibb brother. big in the late 70s/early 80s and died tragically young
I love how you show the video full screen. almost all reactors show them self big and the video small.
Their music is sublime
As are those white pants!
No autotune! ❤
First time a drum loop was ever used in a song.
The song is in short about, no matter who you are or where your from keep moving forward and stay alive. Don't let stupid shit keep you down.
I love the BeeGees. My parents raised me with their music, and my music (the 80's). I fell in love with so many musicians from their time. I hope my kids have the same love for all of that music, that I do.
Robin is my fave..... the one with the long blonde hair and no beard. Love the bee gees...
This is the song you do the CPR with.. It's the same beat with chest compressions
As a 55 year old woman I listened to them via my dad, they were to hard core for my mother...LoL... I still enjoy hearing them. Thank you for your content and your reaction. They had a brother Andy Gibb that died young he also sang and has music out there. I had pictures of Andy Gibb on my pre teen walls and he was considered a real heart throb...
You need to listen to more, guys. All of their voices are amazing, and Robin’s is very beautiful and unusual.
you have like 5 decades of music from the Bee Gees to catch up with guys, keep it coming
The kings of discos
✊🏽
Reminiscing right now nephews 💙. Thanks for the vibe. 🖤🖤🖤
This is just a slice of what the Bee Gees have to offer. Deep rabbit hole!!😊
Beautiful Beautiful Voices...The Bee Gees loved them. I danced to their music in the seventies when I was younger. We sang and danced to their music here in Jamaica... Love it.... 🎉🎉❤❤🌺⚘🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
You guys understood the meaning of the song correctly. You’ve just started on the journey of the fantastic Brothers Gibb, hope you stay on this journey a long time, they wrote and recorded hundreds of songs over the course of 40+ years
Fun fact. they wrote the song, They were the "kings of disco' Barry has the best falsetto there ever was
Still a Vibe!
I've been a fan since 1969. They've been around since before then. They are a British-Australian pop rock group who got branded the kings of disco. However they started in 1958. They actually like writing R&B soul based music. And throughout their long careers you can hear it. They did not always have that falsetto sound. That was for the late 70s which propelled them to the stars. They continued to record through 2001 and their music changed though the years. If you want to really delve into them you won't be disappointed
I appreciate Duncan House to make your reaction video in such a wide video screen for our Bee gees fans to enjoy.I respect your humble attitude ❤😊
I come from a family of musicians, so as a kid, I knew a bit about the Bee Gees, but just recently really saw them & am absolutely in love with this group. Some great news is that it looks like there is going to be a biopic film made of the Bee Gees, directed by Ridley Scott with Barry Gibb, the lead singer in Too Much Heaven, as one of the producers!
This beat was used and sampled in a hip hop song With Wyclef Jean. We're trying to stay alive... And another with DJ Khaled drake and Lil baby
This was one of many great bands/albums that were the soundtrack of my life as a 8-12 yo kid. This and Queen, The Eagles, Supertramp and Londa Ronstadt live in my head forever.
You have to imagine John Travolta in Saturday night fever walking to the beat of the song at the beginning of the movie. I think that movie must've had three or four hit Bee Gee's songs in it. that's what I always think of When the song says, "you can tell by the way I use my walk...." Nobody Struts like Travolta did and he doesn't even put it on. I think it's just the way he walks. I still love the classic disco dancing he did in that movie.
Ive got this taped on cassette off the radio in 1978 when it was in the charts.
Another great song you need to hear is Every Ones A Winner by Hot Chocolate.
Bee gee was my favorite band back in the 70 and still is use to dance disco. 🤙love love you guys reaction. Aloha brothers keep up the good work more bee gee.
How big were they? In 1978, Billboard Magazine listed 4 songs written by them, in the top six songs of the year. Their little brother, Andy, had the number 1 song of the year, written by them. Also, in 1978, music videos weren’t yet a thing, so a lot of songs didn’t have videos, as we know them today. That’s why it looks so low budget. But, they were awesome! Still love them to this day. ❤
They are awesome ! true legends and got Tons of Soul and REAL Fire
Bee Gees all there songs are clean so any age can listen
Check out the song ellan vannin. Robyn gibb singing about home. They were born here. One to watch is the king Williams collage one. I believe It was the last time he came home before he died of cancer. Emotional 😢 I think he knew it was the last time he would see the green hills by the sea
Bee Gees are a rabbit hole. Keep going.
The Bee Gees are the truth!! I’m a musician and child of the ‘70’s the guy in the the middle is Barry Gibb ( Bee Gee’s stood for The Brothers Gibb)
Most recognizable beat in music history!
Best harmonies
What do I know about the Bee Gees - the swaggest and most soulful non melanated group in history 😅 react to “ Too much heaven” if you don’t believe.
They started singing together when they were preteens in the late 1950s, brought out their first record in 1967, by the time this song came out they had already been singing together for nearly 20 years. They wrote their own music and wrote for other artists as well. Prolific songwriters.
I have heard this song since I was a kid and never knew all the words. We didn’t always have lyrics back in the day lol
The Bee Gees literally had hit songs every year for 3-4 DECADES!
The one in the middle is the only 1 left but wrote a number 1 Album a couple of years ago. Xx
Legends
This was the first song I listened to from the Bee Gees before I started reacting to them myself. They have some great music honestly, fun reaction! 😁
They focus on the tallest guy Barry because he’s pretty, and because of his falsetto, but he is who he is because he has his brothers with him. They could all sing falsetto and they wrote all of their own songs. Been performing since they were children. Hits from the 60’s through the 90’s you need to explore many more songs by them.
Their music is timeless. Beautiful men, beautiful music. More please. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great group. No autotune here. Just raw talent. Do you dig it?🙂✌️
They could throw it down! Legends!
Guys
Brothers Gibb aka Bee Gees started out singing when they were in their teens especially in their adopted home country, Australia. Barry didn't start singing falsetto until Disco Era, I think. They started to breakout until they were in their 20's. Someone mentioned about their youngest brother, Andy Gibb. As Barry (man in the middle) calls as "his younger twin" sings too. Andy joined with his brothers on few concerts. Sadly, Andy was going thru some issues with drugs. In 1988, Andy died at the age of 30 at abuse weaken his heart. I believe that Andy would have join with his brothers on full time basis. In 2003, Maurice died from complications of surgery. Then his fraternal twin, Robin died in 2012 of cancer. With deaths of his brothers, Barry is the Lone Bee Gee. Australia TV Network produced documentary called Lone Bee Gee as Barry talks about his life, brothers and family.
Aweee… the Bee Gee’s!! 💙💜
We thought this album was Nevah gonna stop.... This stayed on top for a MINUTE!!
No auto tune. Artists today can’t compare. Pure singing
The Masters of the Dance Era!!
BeeGees 🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍
One voice=1 sound, 2 voices creates another great sound, all three singing creates another fantastic sound. They chose where their 2 part and 3 part harmonies would come in for each song they did. They wrote over 1100 songs for themselves and other artists, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Celine Dion and more.
They wrote great songs. Great singers
Love their songs. Movin groovin❤
The BeeGees have been making bank since they were kids, the Man in the middle is Sir Barry Gibb maybe the greatest song writer ever. This is just the tip of the iceberg gentleman....
His lyrics make the girls cry literally
Who's still Jammin nd Dancing in 2024??? ❤
Humanity hasn't ever stopped dancin' or jammin' since our ancestors made the very first drum--- but, thank GOD we quickly moved on from the disco era garbage of the 1970's, lol. With any luck OUR ancestors will never realize the Bee Gees ever existed!
@@lexirae7889 WTF bro? The Bee Gees are one of the top 10 groups in history.
Oh yeah
